I initially had my property managed by Strother Property Management in At that time I loved them; great communication, wonderful property manager, terrific tenants
Approximately months after we originally agreed to let SPM manage our home something drastic changed with their office and the service suffered greatlyThe communication stopped and the office seemed to work more for the tenant as opposed to the owner; or at least represent both parties equallyWe didn't mind so much because we had some great tenants in the home and we were always getting our rent proceeds in a timely mannerWhen our original tenants were re-stationed elsewhere and vacated the home our property sat empty for nearly five monthsIt was only when we gave them notice of termination that they found a new tenant
This was a mistake on my part to continue working with SPM, as by this point in time I loathed the service they providedThey did not communicate with me the owner; they were slow on disbursing rent proceeds; and our property manager changed numerous times in a short periodThe final straw, and the reason why I am giving them such a poor rating is because of issues with the most recent tenantThe most recent tenant had to be evicted from the houseWe first had issues with the tenant four months into his lease, when he was three weeks late with his rentInstead of SPM contacting me to let me know what was going on with the rent I had to contact themThe tenant eventually paid his rent and all was fine for the next couple monthsThe rent proceeds came later and later in the month but they were being paidIn August the tenant was again three weeks late with rentThen in September and again in October the tenant didn't pay rent...at allDuring this whole time any information that was provided by SPM had to be extracted from them in numerous emails or calls
The tenant eventually was evicted, but we lost two months of rent proceeds, and coincidentally the eviction and repairs (which were questionable at best) for the home added up to the entire security deposit so we never even saw proceeds from that
I would not recommend Strother Property Management to anyone unless you like:
Being Ignored
Poor Communication
Poor Customer Service
Habitually Late Rent Proceeds
Questionable Tenant Screening
Overall if I could give a Minus Star rating I would

So, anyone in Fayetteville, I'd like to share my experience with Strother Property Management as a warning:
Our Fayetteville tenants are breaking leaseStrother hasn't fulfilled its obligations to ensure habitability and regular pool maintenance even after we've been asking for estimates for months and even though no one has been able to explain why last tenant was allowed to leave the pool in that state
Our pool people had a medical emergency and couldn't clean for usWe asked Strother for estimates from two or three pool cleaners and authorized them to take interim measures to have it cleaned pending our selection of a permanent cleaning contractThey sent no estimates and would not respond to queries about who was handling the pool
Same story for the humongous old-growth trees in the front and back, and the densely vegetated landscapingNo maintenance that we can confirm, no estimates on big jobs like tree trimming, and no replies to repeated requests to put us in touch with painters and landscape maintenance companies
Elexia New, who was handling our file solo apparently, has been fired, which is great but doesn't solve the mess they left us
I called Kendra (her replacement) and told her that based on the inaction her company has taken and the neglect by Ms New of any and all issues, problems, and requests, that my position is that Strother is liable for all or part of the costs of pool repair, and I have the paper trail of emails with Elexia to show it
They have to drain the pool completely now, it's so badKendra got three companies to look at it, and apparently it's that bad
They still haven't provided the pics of the pool I demanded to show what justifies a $cleaning bill; nor have they explained why they allowed the previous tenant to vacate with it in such a state
Supposedly they updated our account primary number to Angela's cellphone (they've said before they would, several times) because they refuse to send emails to my work address - I'm not always in the office anyway - and can't understand that we can't have cell phones in our offices even when we are in themlack of connectivity during field training events are apparently impossible for the non-mikitary personnel in their office to understand

We've rented from Strother for almost 2 years on the same property. In February this year, the heater completely broke and the house was freezing. Strother was amazing every step of the way. Offered to pay for a hotel room until it was replaced. Property Manager stayed in contact and constantly checked in on my son and I.

We have never had a problem with prompt responses and any issues being addressed. They've always been courteous and prompt. We will continue to rent from them. I would recommend this property management company to others.
