 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
My issue of disagreement with ETM (E-Town Motors LLC) is
whether this car needs to be fixed, and what actions should be taken by ETM.
In brief summary, I purchased the car and had it inspected by
a local [redacted] dealership in Lancaster County.
The Lancaster [redacted] dealership recommended that I get the oil filter
looked at because there was some possible leakage around it.
I immediately went to my local [redacted] dealership in Montgomery
County where I reside. They service both [redacted] and [redacted]. They immediately
called me and said the oil filter was not an issue, but that there was more
than just surface rust, and they felt that even though it currently passed PA
state inspection for motor vehicles, that it would be a problem in the near
future, and that it could even potentially be a safety issue and that I would
have to take it to a body shop and have it repaired. I immediately called ETM
and informed them of this conversation. ETM recommended I take it to a [redacted]
dealership. I took it to a [redacted] dealership in Montgomery County where I
reside. The local [redacted] dealership reiterated that there was more than just
surface rust and that this could be a future safety issue.  They also noticed rust on the floor pan and
that could rust through and cause the car to fail inspection in the future.
I called ETM and they said both the [redacted] and [redacted] dealerships
were probably just an attempting to sell me body work and body repair. ETM
suggested a local garage. I then took it to my local garage in the town I
reside in called [redacted]'.  [redacted]' again reiterated the fact that beyond surface rust, there is some
structural rust. They also pointed as the other two inspections both at the
[redacted] dealership and the Montgomery County [redacted] dealership that there had been
what they felt were attempts to camouflage or cover up the rust, such as spray
painting black paint and putting tar on, or a tar-like substance on some of the
areas. I asked would that tar-like substance stop the spread of the rust, they
said, no. It was more in their opinion to camouflage it.
Since this is come to light, I have contacted the Lancaster
County [redacted] dealership that I originally retained to inspect the [redacted]
prior to purchase. They shared with me that they were busy the day they did the
inspection, that it did pass inspection but that this could be a safety concern
in the near future.  The Lancaster [redacted]
dealership has also attempted to help me with the purchase of a pre-owned
[redacted], with some form of warranty. They have made it a point to try and make
things right on their part.
I am more than
willing to pay to have any [redacted] dealership that both I and ETM agree to,
inspect  the vehicle and simply
answer the following question:
Is the next few years will this potentially be a safety
issue due to the severity of the rust in the underframe joints and floor pan of
the car?
I appreciate your time greatly and would like to
thank you for your help on this matter.
Regards,
[redacted]

Revdex.com, In regards to complaint #[redacted]. [redacted] was aware that he was purchasing an 11 year old [redacted] like all of our customers can, and sometimes do, took the 2005 [redacted] to a JONES [redacted] Dealer to have checked out before he purchased the car The [redacted] dealer found no...

problems or anything abnormal for an 11 year old [redacted] they told him the car was in good shape for an 80,000 mi vehicle, [redacted] purchased the car two days later. We fees that [redacted] has been given misleading information from his local [redacted] dealer who may be disgruntled that his recent purchase wasn't from them, We spoke with [redacted] and he told us his local dealer said the rust may be an issue in 3 to 5 years how exactly did they come up with that we and Jones [redacted] both had checked the [redacted] for PA State inspection (no issues) Would we have let him take the car to a local [redacted] dealership if we were trying to hide anything He drove two hours away to purchase our vehicle because it was a GREAT PRICE We had advised him if he wants his money back for the car we would be more than happy to trade him out of the 2005 [redacted] and into a low mileage newer [redacted] Product. No dealership said the vehicle wouldn't pass inspection, the only pictures we saw showed surface rust only, not uncommon for an 11 year old [redacted]. We feel [redacted] is slandering us for no reason
