Review: I have been going to w[redacted] transmission shop since July 2015, I was recommended by the car lot I brought my car from. I've paid Eddie W[redacted] 1,000 To fix my Tranmission in July 3 months later my transmission went out again. He fixed it for free because I was under 6 months warranty. My Tranmission went out again in February of 2016 I paid him 900 dollars because he said my warranty expired. My Tranmission just went out again 5/19/2016 now he refuse to fix it all he keep saying is I will have to buy the part for the Tranmission and also pay him to put it on. It have only been 3 months again. I'm still under warranty and he still wants me to pay him.Desired Settlement: I want them to fix the car the right way or I want my money back

Review: On July 8, 2014 my vehicle had problems shifting gears. Mr[redacted] of [redacted] Transmission and Automotive Services was recommended by my father, through former customers of Mr. [redacted]. I contacted Mr[redacted] on July 9, 2014, and explained to him via telephone the problem I was having with my vehicle. He stated that my transmission would need to be rebuilt and he could repair the vehicle for $1000. I told him that I could take the transmission out and bring it in to him. He then stated that, it would be better if he had the entire vehicle, as he would be able to warranty his services if he uninstalled and then reinstalled the transmission himself. I agreed to the services, and stated that I was not comfortable driving the vehicle to his repair shop, as it is on 4th Street in Marrero, and my residence on North Rampart Street in New Orleans which is on the opposite side of the river. He then stated that he could come and tow my truck for an extra $40 and if he picked it up that day he would have my truck ready by Friday July 11, 2014. He came to pick up my truck later that evening, Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at approximately 8pm. He stated to me that he would install an overhaul kit on the truck and if there were any other problems with the transmission, he would fix it. Mr[redacted] then contacted me on Friday and told me that my truck was ready. I stated to him that I would be ready to pick the vehicle up, and I asked about his shop hours. He stated that he would be closed at 5pm. I then told him that I would have to pick the vehicle up on the next day because I would not be able to find transportation to bring me to the Westbank in time. He then stated that he could drive the truck from his repair shop on Marrero, to his home in New Orleans East. I agreed. I was able to get transportation to my vehicle after my shift ended at 9pm, at my second job. I paid Mr. [redacted] in full, cash in the amount of $1,000, that evening for the services rendered on my truck.Upon starting my vehicle, I noticed my radio was on with the volume turned up to a high level. I turned my volume down, as my radio was turned off when I gave him the vehicle to repair it. During my drive home, I noticed a minor whining noise. I planned to drive it to Mr. [redacted] shop the next morning to see if he can troubleshoot my vehicle and determine what was making the noise. The following morning (July 12, 2014), looking at my vehicle in the driveway, I noticed that the transmission was leaking fluid in the front and in the rear. There were grease stains on the front of the hood, and on the drivers side door and handle. There also were cigarette ashes and grease stains inside of my truck, and I dont smoke. I started my vehicle and attempted to bring it to back to his shop in Marrero but as I was driving, my transmission had problems shifting gears again. I contacted Mr. [redacted] and told him that my truck appeared to have the same problem, and stated the other issues concerned me that I listed above. He told me to bring the vehicle in and he would make it right. I told him that I was not comfortable driving the vehicle on the interstate, as it would not properly shift. He stated that he would again come and pick it up from my home that evening. I called on Monday, July 14, 2014. He stated that my vehicle was ready and I could pick it up when I get off from work at 4pm. I was able to get a coworker to bring me to pick up my truck from the shop in Marrero. As I drove away, the problems seemed to be remedied. After driving approximately 4 blocks, my truck screeched as if I pressed my brakes hard and the vehicle stopped but was still on. I turned left on to the Westbank Expressway, I attempted to continue to drive and I could not drive the vehicle over 10mph. I called my coworker and asked that she follow me back to the shop as I attempted to drive back. When I made it back to the shop I told Mr. [redacted] what happened. A mechanic at the transmission shop was able to test drive my truck and he stated that the transmission would have to be checked again. Mr. [redacted] crawled under the truck as it was running and it appeared that he was moving something around. As he was working under the truck, my vehicle shut down. He came to me and stated that the wiring harness is bad, and that was what is causing all of the problems. He stated that the harness was the reason the truck was not shifting gears. I asked him if the harness was the problem, then why was I charged $1000 to rebuild a transmission. Mr. [redacted] stated that the transmission needed to be rebuilt, but the harness was the cause of the latest problem. He then stated that he could fix it. He further stated that he wanted to make things right and fix the vehicle. He asked that I leave my truck with him for a few more days while he locates a harness to replace the newly discovered faulty harness. I was able to contact Mr. [redacted] on July 15, 2014 and he stated that they were still trying to find a harness for the transmission and he will let me know when he is able to find and install a new one. I then attempted to make contact Mr. [redacted] on July 18, 2014 and he did not answer his phone and his voicemail was full. I made 2 more attempts to contact him. I was able to contact my father and requested that he contact Mr. [redacted] from a different number, because it seemed as though he was avoiding my calls. My father was able to successfully contact Mr. [redacted] and he then reported to me that Mr. [redacted] stated that they burned out the computer to my car and would have to locate a computer as well as a harness. My father said that Mr. [redacted] advised him that the vehicle would be ready by Monday, July 22, 2014. It was at this time I then began to arrange for a tow truck to bring my vehicle home if the truck was not ready by Monday. I contacted Mr. [redacted] on Monday, July 22, 2014. He stated that he was still looking for a computer for my vehicle, but he was able to find a harness. He statDesired Settlement: Mr. [redacted] was paid in full in cash $1040 (extra for towing), states he honors his warranty for all services rendered, but to date has not and stated he will not refund any of my money. I am requesting assistance from your agency to obtain reimbursement for towing, attempted repair, vehicle computer(ECU), vehicle battery, and fuel reimbursement for travel and fuel payment given to others to obtain transportation. Again, I am not confident that the repairs will be done correctly.
