I've been a customer of EZ Cleaners for about 3 years and have never had a major problem. Sometimes things are not as well-pressed as I'd like, but that's not something I'd complain about. However, the last time they cleaned my husband's shirts, for some mysterious reason they decided to write our last name on the inner hem with permanent ink. On one of the shirts the name is misspelled, the other has huge letters in dark, thick marker. I have never had any dry cleaner mark my clothes before, and EZ Cleaners been doing our shirts for years. Why the writing? They definitely did not ask permission to do this, and I feel like they defaced my property. These were $150 custom-tailored dress shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt in London. The marks show every time you unbutton or button the shirt. And it kind of defeats the purpose to mark a customer's shirt with the wrong last name!!
When I went in to complain, I asked the guy at the counter why they would decide to do this all of a sudden. He said that's what dry cleaners do. I objected, explaining that I had never had it happen before, and the guy who claimed to be the owner started yelling at me. He was shaking his finger in my face, telling me to "watch my mouth" and "show some respect." Then he ordered me out of the store and said he'd call the police if I didn't leave immediately. I was standing there with my mouth hanging open in shock. I have NEVER had such a horrible customer service experience, especially not in Los Gatos! It was actually a little scary being alone in a small shop with somebody who obviously has anger issues. I do not want my phone number or email address given to this guy.
I wouldn't have gone back there anyway, and there are tons of dry cleaners in Los Gatos, so no skin off my nose. I just want to hopefully prevent anyone else from having a similar experience. From reading the reviews online I can tell that other people have had similar problems with this business owner and one other person also had the same problem with shirts being written on.
