response  to complaint #12656627. Ms. Holly [redacted] (District Manager) reached out to Mr. [redacted] on January 31st, 2018 to speak with him about the complaint he filed. She informed Mr. [redacted] that his account has been credited for Unit #[redacted] in the amount of $55.35. Mr. [redacted] thanked Ms. [redacted] for her assistance in crediting his account and is satisfied with the outcome.We, Simply Self Storage, have resolved this issue with Mr. [redacted]. Dear Ms, [redacted]:In response to ID No. [redacted], I submit the following:On Wednesday, May 11, 2016, complainant left a voice message on the answering machineat the ministorage stating that she was concerned the CCAD on file had not been charged and she stated she did not want a late fee accessed to...

her account,On Friday, May 13, 2016, the complainant called and spoke to the manager and the manager advised complainant that she ran the CCAD on May 4, 2016 and it was declined. Complainant was further advised that due to the fact complainant called on May 11, 2016 the late fee of $10,00 could not be waived though the manager agreed to waive the $25.00 fee that could have been charged because she failed to keep a current credit card on file, Complainant stated she should not be charged a late fee because she had a credit card on file with the ministorage. Though complainant had a credit card on file with the ministorage, this credit card was no longer valid.It was then explained to complainant that the credit card on file had been declined. The Manager then read to the complainant the provision in the contract the complainant signed with the ministorage wherein it states "I further understand that failure to keep a current credit card on file will result in a $25.00 denied credit charge."Complainant was then advised that it is the complainant's responsibility to keep a current credit card on file with the ministorage,Rents are due on the 1st day of each month, Customers are not charged a late fee unlesstheir payment is paid on or after the 6th day of each month and after the 6th day of each month, additional charges are imposed for each day the payment is not made,Therefore, when the complainant first called on May 11, 2016 she had incurred a late payment charge on May 6, 2016.Complainant was advised that the additional late fees charged per day for late payments would be waived for May 11, 12 and 13, 2016 but that the $10.00 late fee accessed against the account on May 6, 2016, would not be waived.The complainant then stated she would be contacting the Revdex.com to complain; the complainant gave the manager her current credit card Information; the manager processed her payment; and, complainant ended the telephone conversation,My wife, [redacted] was the President of EZ Mini Storage, Inc. and though the ministorage is community property, she directed the operations of the ministorage.On April 2, 2016 my wife, [redacted] died,While I know this $10.00 late fee charge, also justified and contractually agreed to by the complainant, was and is very important to her, I was not psychologically able to discuss this with her on May 13, 2016.I have now taken over the duties of President of EZ Mini Storage, Inc.I regret that the complainant did not keep her credit card information valid with us; I regret that the complainant did not contact us until May 11, 2016, 5-days after she incurred a late charge on May 6, 2016; that the complainant did not understand that she incurred a late charge on May 6, 2016; that she was not satisfied with her not being charged a daily late fee after May 10, 2016; and, that I was not psychologically fit on May 13, 2016 to discuss her complaint though I do believe my manager dealt in a professional manner and made financial concessions in an attempt to mollify the complainant,If the complainant would like to speak directly to me, please do not hesitate to give her my name and contact information.I am now psychologically able to speak with her about her dispute over the $10.00 late fee she was assessed.If you need any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
