They did a roof inspection and have not sent the inspection report.
I contacted them on 10/29/18 about getting a roof inspection on my rental house *** GA. They did the inspection and I received an estimate to fix the roof by email 11/2/18 of $2809.00. By the description of the work it was obviously too high! On 11/3/2018 I replied to not proceed with the work and that I would send a check for the $75 for the inspection. I sent the check and it cleared my bank (*** Bank) on 11/8/2018. Today I called since I hadn't received the report they were to email, the lady said they hadn't received the check. She would not believe me that the check had cleared but would check with her boss about it.
I had gotten another estimate based on their estimate description of the work which was $1065, $1744 less than a competitors estimate. Based on that, not only do they not send out inspection reports after receipt of payment, but for out of state customers, it is my opinion they double the estimates of the work!
To receive the inspection report I paid $75 for.
Mr. is correct in that we did an inspection of his roof and drafted an estimate for him. We send out our "Inspection Letters" as soon as payment has been received. The secretary in the office does not have access to deposit information, although she does check the mailbox daily and bring all checks to me. With all that being said, since yesterday (11/14/18) when Mr. informed us that his check was cashed on 11/8, I have been to our local bank and reviewed our accounts extensively. There were NO DEPOSITS or CASHED CHECKS against our business account. The nearest *** is in *** and furthermore, banks do not allow checks made out to a business to be "cashed"...they have to be deposited. After the aforementioned visit at our bank, I returned to our office today (11/15/18) to find in the mailbox, an envelope containing a check for $75.00. The check# is*** and Mr. address is in the memo line. It is also drafted on ***, NOT ***. I believe *** took the money from Mr. account and drafted a check from their own account and then mailed it to us. I have a picture of the envelope and check, front and back, proving that we have not had it endorsed OR cashed. There is no option to upload documentation with this "complaint response" screen, so please let me know where to email. Also, I'd be glad to mail the check back to Mr. if he no longer desires to do business with us. Lastly, I apologize that he thinks our prices are "too high" but I can guarantee that we have never overpriced someone because they live out of state. In fact, over the years we've had many out of state customers, who were and are very pleased with our prices and service.

I find it very difficult to believe that the bank withdrew my funds on the 8th and just by coincidence the check was found in the mailbox the day after I filed the complaint. I still maintain that the firm by sending me an estimate more than double a competitors bid for exactly the same work is also suspicious and it is impossible for me to believe that their estimate was fair and possibly even fraudulent.
Since I have paid E-Z Roofing $75 based on a documented draft from my account, to settle this claim I expect a $75 refund since I have not received the inspection report and now I would not trust an inspection report from the company if they sent it to me.

As I stated in my last response, I'd be glad to send this check back. According to the USPS, it should be there by Friday, Nov. 30th. It was mailed certified and the tracking number is: *** (Please see the document uploaded) In response to his "Exposing" us, I've never in my life taken advantage of a customer, no matter where they live. We use a Patented pricing system, called Straightforward Pricing, with pricing based off our overhead costs, KPI's (key performance indicators) and other important factors. It is bound and printed in books and the same price for repairs is presented to every customer, every time. I apologize that our prices were too high for Mr. and am very happy that he was able to find pricing that better fit his budget, have a great day!
