Eagle Fuel Cells-Etc., Inc. Reviews (2)

My friend noticed a fuel leak out the rear wing root area of his c182. We investigated and found the tank had crazed at the top of the inboard side. We removed the tank and proceeded to order a new one . That's when they asked for the serial number of the old tank. The sales person comes back on the phone and informs me that the 10 year warranty has 23 days left on it. They honored that warranty in full. Very nice to see honest and professional people.
Thank you so much for your product and your honesty. Robert a&p
just a note I have a c182 with eagle fuel cells in it and on my 18th year

Review: I called to get prices on fuel cells for my 1960 Piper Apache, Eagles website said that they had an unpdated approved fuel tank that had fuel drains. I spoke with [redacted]. He told me the prices of the tanks and drain kits. He told me that if I bought all for for my plane the price would be ...X. and the drain kits would be...X. During the course of the talk I asked him if my mechanic ordered them thru his business would the price be cheaper. He said yes. I texted my mechanic to call and get the price of the tank and drains. My mechanic texted me back...spoke with John, he said the tanks are $960..the same price I was quoted and the drain kits were $85. I call [redacted] and asked hime to sell me that tanks and drain kits. He told me the nipples for the drain would have to be installed and that he would get it done and call me when they were to ship. A couple days passed and I called [redacted] to see what was up. He told me he had not had time to talk to the person that installed the nipples...I think he told me that the person was out for a couple days...but he would talk to him...Then he called me back to say the would ship the next day.

He sent the cells with no drain kits. My mechanic thought that I had decided to not get the tanks with the drain so he just installed the wrong tanks. Now I will have to pay $780 to have the tanks taken out and have the correct ones installed.

If I wanted tanks with no drains I would have have mine resurfaced at Hartwig for way cheaper. [redacted] is claiming I never asked about the drains..but [redacted] said it is in his notes and I have the text message from my mechanic say [redacted] gave him the prices of the drains. Either [redacted] is lying or he is very forgetful. Either way I want the correct tanks .Desired Settlement: I now have decided to replace the other two tanks and would like them to send me the all 4 with the drains as ordered and discount the new set of tanks $780 to help pay for the extra labor cost I am incurring. Plus I want them to pay the shipping to return the incorrect tanks to them.

Response:

Due to the nature of our business we keep call logs so we

know that Mr. G. called and spoke with [redacted] on August 28, 2015. His mechanic

called the next day. [redacted] offered them the standard fuel cells as well as an

option to order our proprietary modification kit. Our STC kit requires

modifying the aircraft as well as the fuel cells to install special fuel

drains. We are an FAA regulated facility and when someone orders this STC kit

we must document the aircraft serial number and other information as well as

fill out additional paperwork and modify the fuel cell(s). This is not just a

stroke of the pen or touch of key. To sell an STC requires process.Mr. G. called back and

ordered the two auxiliary cells 17 days later on September 14, 2015 from John. He did not

order the STC kits. For if Mr. G. had ordered them, John would have immediately asked several

questions and a process would have followed. Beyond that John is honest. John

is a ten-year veteran on the phone, our VP and Repair Station Manager, and our

most honest and trustworthy employee. If he says Mr. G. did not order the STC

kit, I believe him. For Mr. G. to speak disrespectful to him, send a

threatening email, post online that John, “ is either senile or a liar.” and

call him a culprit, only solidifies my estimation of his motives. We have been

a family business since 1962 and have seen people like this before.Additionally,

Mr. G. is not out $780 in labor. First, our kit is not required so he is good to

go as is. Second, if we talked to both the owner and the mechanic and Mr. G.

ordered the kit, why didn’t anyone call to ask us where the kit was when it

didn’t arrive? Third the total cost of removing and installing the two new cells is

approximately $780...and he now decides he needs to get the two main cells. Coincidence? Attached is Mr. G’s email and post. You

decide.
