reviewed your account and would advise you of the following; Your particular insurance policy involves a filing with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. Because of this, you cannot simply cancel an insurance policy. The State of Texas requires an insurance carrier to continue carrying the policy for an additional 35 days. This rule is actually put in to help the end client from being cancelled and forced out of business by not having time to get another insurance policy. In your case, it actually hurts you, in that your insurance must wait an additional 35 days from the date you request the cancellation before it is final. Upon further review, your last payment to the finance company was on 6/20/2016 and as you can see from the attachment, the policy did not officially cancel until 8/29/2016. This left almost a two month gap where insurance was being provided, without payment. According to the finance company, once the insurance company sent back any return premium to them, it left you owing $58.66, which is the current outstanding balance. Again, I apologize if you did not receive the customer service you felt like you should have and we will work on improving that every day. I have attached your billing statements and will be happy to go over them with you if you would like. I truly wish you the best in all of your future endeavors.
