We installed this unit for Adams Homes in 2009. In June of 2012, *** *** called our company with a complaint that the unit was not cooling. Upon inspection, we found a leak in the evaporator coil. We replaced this faulty coil with a new warranty coil. Though the
coil was covered under warranty, labor and materials were not. We performed this coil replacement on 07/10/and the total invoice amount was $401.25. The invoice was paid in full in two payments: One for $on 08/09/(check # 4331) and one for $on 09/07/(check # 4336). These Goodman units came with a year parts warranty, which was satisfied in 2014.Several weeks ago, I received a call from *** *** stating she was again having issues with her unit. During this conversation, she advised she was already in contact with another company and was told the evaporator coil had another leak. I sent a technician to her home to verify this. After the leak was confirmed by my technician, I advised her that her unit was no longer under warranty, but that I would attempt getting a warranty coil from the manufacturer. I then spoke, at length, with a representative from Goodman and was told that I would be unable to warranty another coil for this unit due to it being out of warranty. I advised Mrs*** of this and told her the only other option would be to order a new coil, but that it would be an out of warranty service call. Mrs*** advised me she was not willing to pay for any work to be done. We are more than happy to assist this customer with replacement, but we will not do this free of charge
In reference to Mrs***'s claims that our company was aware of ongoing issues with Goodman Manufacturing; We were wholly unaware of this. After installing thousands of Goodman units, we became aware of the continued issues their company was having in regards to quality and manufacturing. Due to this, we no longer sell or endorse Goodman unitsThank you
