weather during the past winter with unusual amounts of ice and snow caused the damage to the skimmer panel on the [redacted]'s pool. Unfortunately this same situation had occurred countless times to all makes and models of above ground pools in the Northeast states. As stated in the [redacted] complaint, ice is not covered by any warranty. Eagle Pool & Spa does offer a one year workmanship warranty that covers the installation of the pool and pool filter. The workmanship warranty further states that " Eagle shall have no responsibility for any damage of defects resulting from acts of God". The [redacted]'s were offered two options to repair their pool. The first option was to remove the damaged pool wall and replace with a new wall and a new pool liner at a cost of $4,600.00. The second option was to cut out the damaged skimmer panel section of the pool wall and replace with a stainless steel skimmer panel, and in an attempt to keep costs down reuse the existing pool liner. The cost for the option two was $1,329.24 including state sales tax. The [redacted]'s opted for option two and returned a signed proposal dated April 8, 2014 authorizing the work. The proposal stated" Detach pool liner from the skimmer and return and roll back pool liner from skimmer to allow room to remove the skimmer panel. A new thru wall skimmer was installed. The positioning of the existing skimmer and return cutouts in the pool liner did not align with the new stainless steel skimmer panel. I authorized the service crew to remove the pool cover from the pool, remove the pile of leaves and winter debris and the existing pool liner. In addition I authorized the service crew to  install a new pool liner in the pool at no additional cost to the [redacted]'s. The everyday replacement cost of a 24' x 52" pool liner is $1,367.40 including sales tax.   As a consumer, I understand how difficult this was for the [redacted]'s and other people with similiar pool damage caused by the past winter.  Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  Yes we are pleased that our pool is useable for the 2014 season. We are not pleased that we had to spend another $1329.24 for repairs and $330 for water on a pool that is less then a year old.  The information that was given to us at the store when we were looking to pruchase the pool has" 40 year warranty, FIRST 3 SEASONS NO CHARGE FOR PARTS".  ( I will refax the imformation to you )  It is a shame that Eagle Pool & Spa are selling pools that can not withstand PA winters.

Review: We have been calling Eagle Pool and Spa for 2 weeks requesting a service call.

They have not shown up the two times they scheduled. They did not call to notify us they would not show up.

We have initiated all contact with this company.

Our product is under warranty but they will not acknowledge our requests for service.

They are uncooperative and uncommunicative.

They seem to be more interested in sales than service.

We have also sent an email to both the customer service rep and the sales rep from whom we purchased the spa.Desired Settlement: We would like our spa repaired.

Response:

The service department from Eagle pool & Spa, Inc completed a service call on May 10, 2013 addressing the concerns of the customer. Thank you, [redacted]

Review: My husband and I purchased a pool from Eagle Pool and SPA in 5/2013. We had them install the pool. Cost was over $6,000.00.

In March of 2014 we noticed that the side of the pool had collapsed. We called the store to report it. Was told that they knew what the problem was, due to over 20 customers and 3 of their show pools had the same problem. They never came out to the house to inspect it or before giving us an estimate. They explained that is was due to the ice.

After many phone calls we where told that our 35 year warranty would not cover the problem.

The warranty does state that ice is not covered, but we were told that there was a 1 year warranty on everything. We only had the pool for 9 months. We had them install the pool to make sure it was correctly installed.

My complaint is how rude their customer service department is. ([redacted]) We spoke to both owners. [redacted] could only offer a new piece for the pool (that doesn't match the rest of the new pool) which cost us another $1330.00. We only had the pool for 10mths. They sold as a "quality" pool that could not handle PA winters.Desired Settlement: Refund
