Thanks for having the time to read our response. Ms. [redacted] came to our lot interested in a 1992 Mazda 323 we listed for sale with 46,000 original miles priced at $2999 cash. She like it and we talked about it for a while. She later informed us about a 2004 Subaru Forester... she had, which had been previously wrecked and declared a total loss by the insurance company. She then decided she wanted to trade in the 2004 Forester to help pay for the 323. The following day she had her vehicle (04 Forester) towed to our business. She purchased the Forester from the insurance company for $1000. The vehicle was beyond repair and was going to be used by us solely for parts, as we do not sell salvaged vehicles here. When we ran a carfax on it we were informed that the vehicle was already salvaged from a previous wreck. Regardless of this new information we STILL offered her $1000 so she wouldn't lose a penny from her 04 Forester. The $1000 trade in allow also saved her $64.50 on taxes for the Mazda 323 she wished to purchase from us. Ms. [redacted] came as a cash buyer to begin with and ended up wanting to trade in a vehicle that had not been wrecked and declared salvage once, as she stated, but twice via carfax. She told us to do the following to the 323 before purchasing it completely: paint driver windshield column, do touchups to the paint and give it a full and complete detail, of which we completed EVERY task 100%. She left a $100 after we promised those things and decided to come back tomorrow. The following day she came and said her father wanted not $1000 as we had agreed upon before, but $1500 for the trade-in value of the Forester. I repeat, the car was wrecked once and declared salvaged, and then wrecked again and declared a total loss from the insurance company. I informed Ms. [redacted] we could not do $1500, because now the price was in the realm of unreasonable. She said she no longer wanted to do the deal. I informed her that when she first walked into the lot she was not even looking to trade-in a vehicle, then when her Forester came up we offered a MORE than reasonable $1000 AND agreed to meet her specifications of how she wanted the Mazda 323 to look. This was done passed our closing time, in which I kept 2 of my employees late to help her 2004 Forester by pulling the fender out from the wheel, replacing the flat tire from the right front wheel and charging the battery, thus preventing from having her pay an extra $90 in tow fees to tow the vehicle back out of the lot. Our shop spent over $400 in this transaction by getting the Mazda 323 in the condition she desired before she fully purchased the vehicle AND making her 2004 Forester ready to be driven. In summation, not only do I think we do NOT owe Ms. Giovini anything, she, in fact owes us $300 for our services to her Forester and her future car, the 323. We look forward to having this issue resolved soon. Thanks so much for your time, [redacted]
