Review: Eagle Tire replaced my engine in a 1991 Toyota 4 runner on Oct 1, 2014. Around Oct 11 I told Eagle Tire that the check engine light was on and the vehicle was over heating. They have not responded to my complaint other than to tell me that they would not deal with me anymore and wouldn't fix my vehicle.Desired Settlement: They replaced the engine and should be liable for fixing the check engine light and at least solving the over heating problem.

Response to Complaint from [redacted]November 28, 2014[redacted], Resolution ModeratorRevdex.com Dear Sir:I received your letter regarding [redacted] ID # [redacted] and I would like to make a few comments.As a business owner for 33 years my goal has been to serve the Helena community with the utmost integrity possible. I have resolved many issues with customers over the years and have come to reasonable solutions.When Miss [redacted] brought her 1991 Toyota 4-Runner for repair we did replace the engine. We did not touch the air conditioner. Her car by her own admission went 2,855 on the new engine.On September 1, 2014 Miss [redacted] states she was taping the coolant reservoir. Miss [redacted] does some work to her own engine. And then drove the car, it was losing fluid it was obvious, and obvious that fluid had been added and the hose to the coolant reservoir was duct taped outside the reservoir. It should be inside the reservoir. How it got there I do not know.I don’t know what happened, but it was under warranty and we took care of it. The warranty company wanted us to rework the head gasket and we did, we took it to a place in town that does that. Than the warranty company decided they would replace the entire engine. I don’t know why they decided that but I knew my customer was getting a brand new engine instead of just a reworked head gasket. Between the warranty company and us waiting for a decision and then shipping it all takes time and that’s just what it takes. Once we received the engine in the shop we had it installed within two days.I know Miss [redacted] complains about the RPM’s but we have checked that on our digital machine and it measures normal. It’s true her gauge may be off. Also she states that some of electrical tape is missing from some wires in a couple of places but that happens with a 23 years old vehicle. And our mechanic did retape a lot of the wire while he installed the engine.When Miss [redacted] called to have the car towed in she told us she had triple A, so we weren’t’ even aware of a tow bill thinking that Triple A tows for their clients. I did offer Miss [redacted] my courtesy car on several occasions, she didn’t want it. This is why we have a courtesy car for our customers so they are not stranded for any length of time. I don’t see why I would be responsible for her groceries, which regardless of car issues she would still have to eat. Nor do I see that I would be responsible for lost wages, the courtesy car was available during this time but she refused it. And like I mentioned earlier, she stated she had Triple A the tows are covered in their plans, so I don’t understand why I should pay for a tow if there wasn’t a charge.I realize when you are waiting for answers and for your car to be repaired that issues are intensified. There were many many phone calls from Miss [redacted]. I tried to do what was right for her. Unfortunately with the age of the car there will always be issues and repairs. Like I said I tried to do what was right for her, but I’m unable to please this customer. I can honestly say that Miss [redacted] was well taken care of even if she doesn’t’ agree and she was never taken advantage of or mistreated. Respectfully Submitted, [redacted]Owner Eagle Tire
