I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
In response to the message from the business (Eagle Tobacco # 2) that I made the complaint about, I would like to make the following remarks: 1) There most definitely was a sign in front of the Newport Cigarettes shelf advertising a price of $53.99. More than likely, the sign is no longer there which in itself would accomplish one of my objectives. 2) As I have been a regular customer of this establishment for many years, I assumed (incorrectly) that the owner was always honest with me in stating that he would give me a $1.00 discount/carton if I paid with cash. I discovered that this was not the case when his younger brother sold me 4 cartons for $223.19 which is $52.99/carton excluding the 5.3% sales tax. The owner had been selling me 4 cartons for $227.41 which is $53.99/carton excluding the sales tax. During each of my visits to his establishment, he had been selling me the 4 cartons for $227.41 for a considerable period of time. 3) I have found other establishments within a mile of his Eagle Tobacco # 2 store that sell a carton of Newport for $51.99/carton and also offer a discount price of $50.99/carton if I pay with cash. It goes without saying, I will take my business to one of these establishments in the future. 4) I do appreciate the store owner’s offer to refund me the $8.00 which I had made in my original complaint. If he had done this at the time I complained to him in person then the matter would have been resolved at that time.
I received the complaint letter which was submitted by my regular customer on 12/26/2017 from the Revdex.com .I am writing this response email to reach the customer who compliant about my business and to the bureau who sent this mail to me .firstly I don't have any written notices...
and signs like the way he mentioned in the complain. I used to charge 54.99 per carton and used to give him a dollar discount which brings the price to 53.99 per carton but I reduced the price by a dollar and made $53.99 straight instead of doing 54.99 and dollar discount which means the same thing .He got confuse and misunderstood right here. I made him clear about the price and discount before he bought the cigarettes and he agreed .He didn’t say anything before he purchase the cigarettes but after 3 -4 days later he came and asked the discount money .At this point I don't want to make the case complicated and don't like to disagree and make the process longer .I would like to solve this case immediately with out any delay and spending too much time on it .I don't do the false advertising and have not done in my entire life so to solve this problem and make it easy I would choose to do the refund of $8.00 .So let me know how can I refund $8.00 to him .You can reach me at [redacted] or by email .Thanks
