Review: I dropped off a Yamaha TTR 50 to get an estimate for repair. The motorcycle was in running condition when I dropped it off. I received a call a week later telling me the cost to fix the bike would be $850. I told the service person it was not worth that and asked him what I owed them for the estimate. I was told it would be $65 and I told them I would be in to pick it up. A few days later I went to get the bike. To make a long story short they expected me to take the bike home in pieces. They told me if I wanted them to put it back together they could, but they would have to charge me more. I told them I would take $200 for the bike as it set in their shop with the transmission torn apart. I talked with them for at least a half hour telling them I didn't think it was right for them to give me a cost for an estimate and then expect me to take the bike home in pieces. It was a very shady deal from the start and I ended up leaving when one of the technicians offered me $50 for it.Desired Settlement: I think they should pay me another $75 for the bike because they kept it. I didn't care to take it home in pieces and didn't have time to waste in their shop.

We have received your letter by mail about a complaint that was filed about our business. After reviewing the complaint and speaking with our entire service department and myson who were involved in this incident we have come to the conclusion that the customer[redacted] has embellished some of the facts that occurred in the situation and did notbring up his actual resolution and actions concerning this incident. Our response is as follows: On May 21st, 2015 the gentleman brought in his unit to ourservice department for us to perform an estimate because there was abnormal enginenoise and it was not running correctly. After one of our technicians did the estimate andby the way has been employed doing this kind of work for over 20 years came to theconclusion that in order to fix the machine correctly it would need a transmission rebuildand the carburetor cleaned which came to a total just for parts of $360.00 not includingthe labor to do it which would be an estimate of 6-8 hours at $68.00/hour would rangefrom $408.00 - $544.00.When the estimate was completed our Service Manager contacted the gentleman andmade him aware of the findings and what the estimated cost would be to fix the machineof $768.00 - $904.00 depending on how long it took. The gentleman then told ourservice manager "it's not worth that to fix it" and then proceeded to ask how much heowed for the estimate and was told $65.00 and said he would be in to pick it up.When the gentleman came to the service department to pick up his machine he wasdumbfounded when he saw the machine was not put back together and that if he wantedit put back together his repair bill would increase from $65.00 to $130.00 for the labor ofa technician for taking it apart to find what was wrong with it just like the customer asked(and still not fixing it) and putting it back together. He did not seem to understand thatyou have to pay an hourly rate for shop/repair work and it is cl[redacted] posted in our servicedepartment that our hourly rate is $68.00/hour. The customer at this point was notwilling to invest his money for proper repairs and was not going to be satisfied with anyoutcome. He did then have a conversation with one of our technicians while he was offthe time clock. At this point our technician made an individual deal with the customeroutside of the [redacted]'s Cycle Center business which we are not responsible for. However, witnesses were present that are employed at [redacted]'s Cycle Center and the events in shortare as listed:1. Technician offered $100.00 for machine.2. Customer accepted3. Technician said if you change your mind over the weekend let me know andyou can have it back.4. Customer took $100.005. Service Manager reduced bill to try and make customer satisfied from $65.00to $50.00.6. Customer left [redacted]'s Cycle Center happy and $50.00 in hand that he did nothave before.7. Customer never called or came back to reverse the individual deal. After reviewing all the facts that occurred in this particular incident we as a whole andcould only presume that the Revdex.com would disagree with the customersdesired settlement of an additional $75.00 payment for the machine considering he sold itto an individual not [redacted]'s Cycle Center based solely on his own decision making skills. The outcome of this situation could have been completely different or altered if thecustomer's actions and thought process would have been more through.Thank you,Sheldon EarlyOwner/PresidentEarly's Cycle Center Inc.[redacted]

Response:
I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I would like any future customer to know that if you take a running motorcycle to Early's Cycle Center to get an estimate and you decide you would like to get someone else to work on it, the estimate cost will not include returning the motorcycle back to you as it was received from you. Your motorcycle will be returned to you in pieces.

Review: I droped my son's TTR 90 Yamaha dirtbike on April 30,2014, at Early's Cycle Center [redacted] Hanisonburg, V.A. [redacted] 1o be repaired for bad needle
in the carburetor which they said was sticking and not seeding itself allowing gas to leak out of
the hose. The shop manager told me they could fix it, so I said that be fine, upon picking up day
on May 16,2014, we proceeded to pay the amount of $169 dollars invoice included, the shop
manager came out to help load, but we asked him to ride it around, he did so and it seemed to run
fine for the three minute ride around the business.
My son did not drive the dirt bike that evening nor that Saturday, but did ride it Sunday
for five minutes as it proceeded to spew gas out the hose again as if never fixed. We called them
on Monday May 19,2014, decided to take the bike back took it before opening and left it for
their digression. The shop manager decided to call us on May 21,2014, and proceeded to tell us
that what they said they could fix really may not be able to fix it after receiving this unfortunate
information and having disagreeing words with the shop manager, I ask for the owner Mr. Early
himself. When Mr. Early answered the phone I proceeded to tell him what was going on and that
I felt betrayed and not well informed on the unsuccessful percentage rate on which the problem
could be fixed, on knowing this information at the time before delivering the bike the first time
on April 30, it would have been to my digression on what to do with the bike and the money that
was spent on it.
Mr. Early proceeded to tell me I was way out in left field for asking for a portion of my
money back for being falsely misguided as I did feel, after that Mr. Early proceeded to cuss me
not once but twice and said "I did and I'll do it again" all of which was said on speakerphone
with two ear witnesses, after being so rudely talked to I went straight there to meet with him in
person so that we could rationalize things out in a orderly and professional manner. Upon
arriving Mr. Early and I proceeded to have a disagreement at which I felt like I was very comely
collected, at that time we decided to go to the work shop area where he decided to tell me that I
was completely wrong in front of his shop manager and my son for wanting a compensation for
being misled, I decided to ask Mr. Early if his work was only good from his shop to the road fifty
yards away and to my astonishment his answer was yes.
I would like to let you know about this unfortunate incident because I felt like I was a very easy
customer not asking for much but a portion of a reimbursing, and a fair shake at the information
that was withheld from my knowledge. All as Mr. Early was very uncompliant to listening to any
of my opinions on the matter.Desired Settlement: Whatever the Revdex.com decides to do to elevate this problem with be greatly appreciated.

Response:
This message is in regards to the letter received July 25th at Early's Cycle Center. As per the complaint that we failed to follow up, when I was speaking with you on the phone I did verbally tell you everything that had happened on this occasion. When speaking with Mr. [redacted], I felt he was a customer who had his own opinion as to what he wanted and would not listen to reason. He was one of the worst customers I have experienced in my 53 years of being in business. Please know that this has been corrected. We did indeed work on and hopefully fix on the second try his motorcycle at no charge. Saving him the purchase (to the tune of) a new 350.00 dollar carburetor. As of today I have yet to hear back from Mr. [redacted] so I assumed the last repair was satisfactory.

Response:
I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I [redacted] would like to inform you on the upsetting situation with Mr. Early at
Early's Cycle Center. The first circumstance is I own a business myself and by no means do we
talk to our clients in such a manner as Mr. Early did to us that day. Also from my reading of the
copy of Mr. Early's letter, he has failed to inform or acknowledge the fact that he did proceed
to cuss me out in a very disrespectful manner and did not seem care about ¡t at all. Secondly
yes he did try to save me money on fixing the part the way he seen fit for $166 dollars, but
failed to inform me of a second option of buying a brand new carburetor which would only
been another $150 dollars, but his service manager told me he could fix it for the first one
without even giving the second option which Mr. Early agreed with him that, if given a second
option it would have been my choice what to do on the bike not his which would avoided this
situation if I had been properly informed which. In another words you can buy a whole new
carburetor for $300 dollars or try to fix a old one for $166 dollars which I was not informed of
this option. I was just told they could fix the carburetor for the price $150 dollars
approximately. Also another failed report of Mr. Early is him stating that "he has not heard
back from me so the job must been satisfactory," this is partially true I haven't talked to Mr.
Early since the situation, but not from a satisfactory job, because Mr. Early informed me upon
the date of our discussion that he did not want me to call him or come back on his property
because he did not want to receive our business, so I politely obliged him as he requested. So
after so many fails by Mr. Early to inform you on further information that he enclosed to you it
should be clear to see that as a man in the business industry for 35 years myself, I did not curse,
raise my voice, or conduct myself in any manner that was inappropriate, except to adamantly
express that I had been misled so I find it very hard to believe that in the manner I acted in his
establishment I have been his worst customer in his 53 years of the business it seems to be very
absurd. Still to this date the bike is not in operation. Again I asked Mr. Early if his work that he
performed was only good from the shop to the road and he stated "YES." I appreciate anything
you can and are doing on this situation.
