Review: I went to the doctor about a constant runny nose on 1/**/15 and the doctor sprayed some saline solution in my nose. I paid a $50 copay for this. I received a bill for $405 claiming my insurance didn't cover it because it was seen as an in patient "surgical procedure". I contacted my insurance company and even though it wasn't surgery of any type that is the way the doctors office coded it. They wanted $784.70 for simply spraying saline solution in my nose which costs approximately $4.00 or less at any pharmacy. When I called the billing department back they told me there was nothing they could do except lower the bill to $200. They also had their facts wrong telling me that I was initially at the doctor due to excessive [redacted] which as not the case at all. I was extremely upset and feel like I'm being defrauded by this office. It's bad enough I had to pay $50 to get nose spray, but to be charged $400 is ridiculous and can be seen as a crime. I can not afford to pay out of pocket and even if I could I wouldn't, due to the nature of this charge. It seems clear that the doctors office billed the insurance company using an incorrect code in order to get more money out of them. When they saw I had a deductible they turned the payment over to me. I don't think it's fair that I should be responsible for paying $400 or a penny over the $50 I already paid for a squirt of saline solution. I'm very upset by this and really feel disgusted by all of this. Thank you!Desired Settlement: I would like my account to be cleared of any debt which I think is only fair.
