These guys did a great job on my roof. They were detail oriented...cleaned up well and were customer satisfaction oriented. I would recommend this crew to anyone.

Review: In June 2014, we were looking for a contractor licensed to: (1) fix 4 broken window sashes, (2) install 2 new staircase banisters (railing and uprights), (3) install 3 new stair treads, (4) install 3 ceiling fans, including new electrical switches, wiring and fix the drywall after installation, (5) install a door to the utility room in the basement. We found East Coast Construction online; it had good reviews. The two employees we interacted with were Christina T[redacted] and Adolfo C[redacted]. At the start, we explained time was of the essence because the house was being appraised in late July. Everything seemed OK at first; Adolfo told us he repaired the windows, installed the bannisters and stair treads. We paid for the materials for this part of the project (over $375) and labor ($1,000). Adolfo also for an advance towards the labor for the remaining work, which we paid $400. Then, when we were out of town, he asked us wire an additional $1,000 for "materials." It seemed strange, but we were out of town, so sent the money. We then became concerned, because we realized we were supplying nearly all the materials -- the fans, wire, door. When we arrived home, we found the work undone -- there were numerous holes in the drywall, but none of the work we had paid $1,400 was done. To our dismay, when a separate company refinished the stairs, we discovered Adolfo had installed the wrong wood on the bannisters and treads -- even though we had instructed him to match the wood. We immediately contacted Adolfo about the unfinished work and stairs. We then received an email saying that they would not finish the work but would refund us some money. We tried to recall the wire, but he denied the request. We had to pay another contractor over $2,300 (plus materials) to fix the work. Adolfo admitted the $1,000 was not for materials, but refused to give us back our money, saying we couldn't prove it. He stopped responding to our emails. We have photos and all the paperwork. It was a terrible experienceDesired Settlement: We would like the money that we paid Adolfo to be returned. It was over $2,700. Ideally, we would like partial payment for the $2,300 in bills that we racked up fixing his shoddy work. We had to buy new materials and pay another contractor more money because it had to be done so quickly, due to the timing of the appraisal. We are deeply troubled that he lied to us about needing $1,000 for materials.
