Right now, I'm having a wait and see attitude because [redacted] had been making the same promises to me in the past for the last two months. Furthermore, even if he complied this time, he has not indicated when he intends to repay the other half of the money.]

Review: In October 2014, I responded to an ad online about a business for sale listed by [redacted]. After I visited the place, I wanted to investigate the Financials and [redacted] asked me for a deposit of $17,000.00 that was supposed to go to escrow.I notified [redacted] shortly after that I was no longer interested in the business. He sent me to look at another about a week after. The Financials of the second company was completely different from what [redacted] told me and on December [redacted], 2014, I notified [redacted] to return my deposit. As of this dayDesired Settlement: I want him to return the $17,000 I gave him.

Review: [redacted] and East Coast Stores took an escrow deposit from our business in connection with a business interest, and now after deal didn't go through he is refusing to refund us the deposit and is avoiding our phone calls or any other means of communications for the past 6 months. Please help!Desired Settlement: I would like to receive our REFUNDABLE security deposit back and get in contact with the business that's been avoiding us.
Review: I had put down an Earnest Deposit of $20,000+ back in February 2014 to purchase 2 Subway Store locations. I succeeded in buying the first one (couldn't do the second one because Subway had a requirement that new franchisees had to own one Subway store for a minimum of three months before purchasing another store).
Closed on the first store in June 2014. After two months I learned through unsubstantiated rumors that the second store had been sold to another person because the seller did not have the patience to wait for me to get Subway's approval to buy my second store.
I realized that [redacted] still had my Earnest Deposit (which was not applied to the purchase price at closing), so I asked for that to be returned since there was no reason for him to hold on to it any longer.
To this date (end of March 2015), I am still owed $8,500 of that money. He keeps delaying me and asking for time. In fact, the last two months he has not been returning any of my e-mails.
I suspect his business is having some sort of financial difficulties because he can't even return money which should have been held in ESCROW. If it is in ESCROW, why can't he return it IMMEDIATELY?Desired Settlement: Return of my remaining EARNEST DEPOSIT MONEY.
