We have just returned from our week long stay in Destin, Florida and, despite the absolutely beautiful weather, our vacation was nothing but disappointment from the moment we arrived at this house We rented a house in Destiny By the Sea, Vita La Bella, through Southern Vacation Rentals from March 14th-21st, This is a very high end neighborhood There were multiple issues with the home and I am listing just a few below 1) The hot tub/jacuzzi did not work, pool leaked and the lights in the pool did not work We were told that the owner could not and would not fix these items As a result, you cannot use the pool at night and you have to fill the pool every few days which defeats the purpose of heating the pool - we paid to heat the pool for the week 2) The exhaust vent on the stove was not operational When we inquired about this from the rental company they again said they could not fix this, the owner would not authorize the expense 3) The extremely heavy iron curtain rod in one of the bed rooms was being supported by duct tape When we tried to open the curtain to access the balcony the rod fell off nearly striking a small child in the head We contacted the property manager at 4:45pm and were told that they could not send their repairman out because they were gone for the day and since this was not an â emergencyâ they would not authorize the expense Finally, after pleading with the senior manager at the rental company they did agree to reinstall the curtain rod and re-hang the curtains 4) Lastly, and most disturbingly, the shower from the third floor leaked every day into the bed room immediately below When we called to report this issue on the first day we were told to turn the shower head toward the wall and put towels down on the floor That this happens all the time and there is no issue Unfortunately this advice did not work Although the rental company sent several â repairmenâ to fix the problem, nothing worked The problem only continued to get worse By the time we left, the ceiling was close to falling in The property manager, Regina along with the rental agency, Southern Vacation Rentals, were extremely unaccommodating We do not live in these conditions at home and certainly would not expect to live in these conditions while on vacation when you pay for what you think is a premium beach home rental I have never experienced a lack of customer service like this in all of my vacation home rentals Again, the rental company, property manager and presumably the owner were fully aware of these problems upon our arrival and thought it was completely acceptable to rent this home

We rented a house, Southern Ambiance, from Southern Vacation Rentals While we were down at the beach on Monday, August 8th, two employees let themselves into our house unbeknownst to us My sister in law happened to go up to the house to run to the bathroom and heard people upstairsthey called down to her to say they were with Southern Vacation Rentals They claimed they were having issues with out internet and were fixing it It looked like it was about to start raining at the beach, so we came back to the house approximately minutes later After showering off, I discovered $of jewelry had been stolen I have contacted employees several times and they keep promising to call me back and keep me updated I have had to call them every time It's now November and nothing has been resolved The owner of the home assured me that Southern Vacation would take care of it all Chad, the Director of Guest Services, won't even tell me if there is a resolution in the works or if I'm wasting my time I've filed police reports, stayed in contact with Southern Vacation, but have gotten no response from them whatsoever They even assured me that they would check the locks to see if anyone else went inheard nothing They assured me that they would personally go to the housenothing When I first reported this the morning after the incident, the lady told me "I'm sorry ma'am, our people wouldn't steal anythingAnd they have to have a work order request before they go into the home and you have no work order request." Come to find out, a work order request was magically created the next day

We just returned from a wonderful week at Destin PointeWe have been vacationing at Destin Pointe for yearsSouthern Vacation Rental services:
accurate online description of the condo, great communication prior to the rental week, and the condo unit was cleanAdditionally, weather and the grounds were exceptional (as usual) and the trolley service to the beach is a great featureMajor disappointments - the pool was not open due to reconstruction and the tv reception was very inadequateSouthern Vacation Rentals offer of a credit towards a future rental was not acceptable

The condo itself is very pretty., but is very obviously had a poor cleaningThe second bathroom was dirty with looks like mold on the insideI found long black hairs( definitely not mine since hair bare in longThe floors could have used a little more attentionI just think someone was trying for record time in cleaningSad, it is one of the nicest , condos I have stayed in Majestic Sun and we have been staying at the Majestc Sun since it was first built and love it here(A little cleaner)

BLUE DOLPHIN #403. In my opinion. DO NOT USE THIS rental company. DO NOT rent here. As I am preparing for another vacation, I am reminded never ever rent with Southern Vacation Rentals and never ever rent Blue Dolphin #403 in Fort Walton Beach, FL. This is our experience. Do not be deceived by the pictures you see here. They do not paint the correct picture of what we experienced.

Like you, we thought, wow what a great looking condo. Our families were excited. Our big vacation of the year. What a let down when my brother arrived before I did to find this place in total disarray. Had it not been for my older brother renting us a much better and cleaner condo from another resort management company our three family vacation would have been ruined because this place is terrible. Blood stains on the floor, bug droppings in the kitchen, dust mites, dirty carpet, sticky couch and items left under the mattresses. A very unkempt condo indeed.

The balcony felt like it was about to come off the building. We rented through Southern Vacation Rentals. They were mean and hateful. Southern Vacation Rentals NEVER offered to move us or to give a refund. There was no way we were going to stay there, so we rented from another company and I am glad we did. My wife who is normally really reserved eventually became upset by the lack of genuine care a concern. A lady was sent to sweep up a couple of the bugs and then left. Dirty dishes. Stickers showing there was bed bugs at one time. There is a very rough looking area behind this rat hole of a condo. Very shady characters hanging out. I have pictures backing up all of this. Don't say I didn't warn you. More than likely YOU WILL ONLY LOSE YOUR MONEY and hate your vacation.
