East Maryland Animal Hospital Reviews (2)

Don't recommend. In November 2014, my aging dog just needed an annual exam and follow-up liver ultrasound. Dog was very healthy for its age and was able to hear great before coming to East Maryland Animal Hospital. Under [redacted] care, the dog became violently ill, forced to go to vet ER (a ton of extra expenses), and became deaf. [redacted] refused to do the ultrasound I requested (& was recommended by 2 other vets). Unfortunately, on the 1st visit, everyone "seemed" so nice & caring; and I was talked into buying a "PAW Plan" membership that would promise to save me lots of money. I felt stuck with this clinic on their "Plan" that almost killed my dog and who is now apparently deaf. I tried just changing doctors within the clinic to [redacted] in late November 2014. I run into problems again in mid-January 2015 while [redacted] was on emergency medical leave. Despite I had a voicemail from [redacted] authorizing a refill for my dog's important medicine, the clinic refused to dispense the doctor-approved refill. Also I was given prior instruction not to miss even 1 dose of this medicine, therefore important to get this refill in mid-Jan 2015. Since East Maryland refused to dispense, I was forced to set up my dog at another vet clinic at the last minute to get the refill. Also I was informed East Maryland had the daily dosage instructions wrong. Since the dog is now set up with a different vet clinic, I requested a cancellation of the PAW Plan at East Maryland. I didn't owe anything to them prior to PAW Plan cancellation. Due to the PAW Plan cancellation, [redacted] of East Maryland states I owe almost $300 just from the cancellation and that she only knows about the accounting of the business, and that the medical side is irrelevant to the matter. I disagree. Even though, looking at the money only, I already lost almost $600 due to East Maryland's neglected duty of care, not to mention my time, transportation costs, emotional/mental stress of both me and my dog.
