East Ridge Apartments

I had lived at this complex for a year and a half and was told if I left to put in a 30 day notice and I would not be charged for anything and I would receive my security deposit back. I turned in my 30 day notice on June 11, 2019 and stated I would be loved out by July 11, 2019. Within the year and a half, we had two different landlords to get fires or to quit. I had called from July 2019 up until November 2019 trying to get in touch with someone about getting my deposit back and trying to turn my keys and mailbox keys in. I left multiple voicemails and still didn't receive any call back. In December 2019 I spoke with someone and they stated they would finish the move out paperwork and my deposit would be mailed to me on the following business day, which would have been the following Monday. I waited two weeks before calling again and a lady stated she had to go through one more step in order to send me the deposit refund. It is now January 2020. The beginning of this month I had a debt collector call me and tell me I owed East ridge $2,000 due to not paying rent. I explained to the lady that I had paid rent every month that I was there and I had every receipt to show that. She stated she would take it into consideration and if she needed them she would have me send them. I then contacted the Apartment complex back and spoke with a different lady and she stated I owed $2,000. I explained to her I had every receipt from paying rent. I then called back last week and was told I would not be getting my deposit back. She then changed the story and stated I owed $500. I told her that I was supposed to get my deposit back and again let her know I still had all my receipts. She then stated I was not paying the correct amount of rent and that I was $40 short each month. I told her that was never told to me until now. She rudely stated that it was not her problem and that she has no control over what someone else has told me.
