May 18, 2016Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond to this complaint, [redacted] did purchase a [redacted] from us on March 28, The vehicle was sold with an in-house Power Train Warranty which covers only the major components of the engine, transmission and drive train for days or miles (whichever occurs first)He was also offered the opportunity to purchase an additional Service Contract through an outside vendor which offered an extended time frame and expanded parts coverage [redacted] declined the offer for that additional coveragePlease refer to the attached copies of paperwork signedAt some point after purchase [redacted] did approach us with a noise that he was hearing in the vehicle, We had a mechanic check it out and he said that the catalytic converter was making a slight noise, The drivability and reliability of the vehicle was not being affected, The catalytic converter does not affect the safety of the vehicle and is not part of the state inspection in Pennsylvania, The only inspection that the converter would be checked is in a county emissions inspectionHere in Adams County we have not adopted county emission testing and our paperwork states that customers are responsible for their own emissions inspections where applicable, The in-house warranty does not cover any exhaust system work and so there was no coverage for the catalytic converter [redacted] was told by the dealer that he would be responsible to take care of this issue if he felt compelled to address itHe asked the dealer about hollowing it out and was told that we would NOT do that hereAny repairs would be done at his expense and on his own time elsewhereWe then received a call on April 29, from [redacted] that the car was not running properly and that he was leaving it at a gas station for us to pick upIt was immediately picked up and brought into the garageThe top end of the motor has been damaged and the motor will now need to be replacedThe technician explained that this type of damage was likely caused by over reving the engineThis is in NO WAY connected to his complaint about the catalytic converter, If the catalytic converter would have failed it would have worst case scenario choked out the motor and the top end could not have suffered damage, He had put over miles on the vehicle in daysThe day the vehicle was left for us to pick up it was beyond the coverage date and far above the covered mileageHe also never added the proper insurance to the vehicle which he was to complete in the first days, If he had an accident, the vehicle would not have been covered for any repair or replacementWe do not feel responsible to cover any of the needed repairs since they did not fall into the Warranty ContractThank you again for allowing us to provide you with our side of the story in this matterIf you have any further questions please feel free to call me at ###-###-####.Thank You, Stephanie B- manager

a year but It is from less than 5% of our 400+ cars we sell each yearAlso note that we have never been to my knowledge been found a any type of fault for any of these complaintsNor have we ever had any type of legal proceeding entered against usIf you have any further questions please feel free to call me at ###-###-####.Thank You,Holly M.Assistant Manager

03/21/2017Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond to this complaint*** *** did purchase a *** *** on February 7, with a day/mile power train warrantyThe following day *** came in and advised there was a hole in his right front tireWe immediately
ordered another tire & installed it while he waitedOn February 27, he came in complaining of losing powerOur mechanic took it for a test drive advised no codes, good power & runs goodA few weeks later customer called advising he had a coolant leakA garage appointment was scheduled for March 6, to address the leaking radiatorUpon diagnosis it was determined that the radiator, camshaft sensor, transmission mount needed replacedNone of these parts/repairs are covered under the day/mile power train warranty the vehicle was sold withAs a good faith gesture we agreed to split the repair costs with the CustomerDuring this time customer requested a loaner vehicle and was advised the cost is $per day/per miles plus tax which was stated in the contract he signedHe did contact the office to advise check engine light was on in the rental vehicleHe was asked how the vehicle was drivingHe indicated it was driving/running goodHe was told he could continue to drive it or come back in Switch into another rentalHe declined to do so and continued to drive the original rental vehicle providedAs far as the CARS PROTECTION warranty is Concerned, the Customer's payment was declined therefore the application was rejectedThis has nothing to do with paperwork being filled out incorrectlyI have enclosed a Copy of the invoices for work that was done on the vehicle, our in house warranty offer CARS PROTECTION denial letter.Thank you again for allowing us to provide you with our side of the story in this matterIf you have any further questions please feel free to call me at ***.Thank You,Holly M,Assistant Manager

May 26, 2016The statements we made are not falseWe have already provided paperwork signed by the customer to validate most of our responseThat paperwork shows that we were at no point responsible to make the repairs he was requestingHe is basing his complaint on his opinion of how he believes this situation should have been handled. The slight noise he heard was not a concern that needed to be handled to ensure the car was safe & reliableThe engine has not stopped workingThis is a lieThe motor has a top end noise due to internal damage, This damage could not have been caused by the catalytic converter issueThey are completely separate components within two completely separate systemsAlso, the internal mechanical damage to the engine will not initiate a check engine lightThat fight is only triggered by electronic sensor systemsThere would have been no Indication that a problem needed to be addressed, internal damage will occur promptly at the endpoint it occurs and cannot be undone or prevented once the damage is doneThis damage is typically created by improper use of the vehicle such as over revving the engineThe only sign that the damage has occurred is the motor noise which was heard immediately when the vehicle was started after being left at the location by the customer. We are not willing to cover the cost of replacing the damaged motorWe are confident it was damaged by misuseWe would be able to offer this work to be done at a discounted rateThe warranty terms were disclosed to him and accepted by him at the time of sale, He was also offered a third party service contract with more comprehensive coverages and he declined to take advantage of that offerAt the time of the component damage, both the mileage and time allowed had been exceededThe coverages are in place to cover any major component failure and the service contract is available to add a longer term and more repair coverages at a very low cost of $per month, We strongly urge our customers to take advantage of these contracts to add the extra coverages. To address his other comments in his complaint, during his employment with us as a lot attendant he had no contact with our existing customers and no information on how we handled any situationsHe cannot speak as to how we handle this business or our customersThe majority of our sales come from repeat customers and from customer referralsWe strive to do what we can to ensure that all validated concerns are handled appropriately,Thank you,Stephanie B.-Manager

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: The Assistant Manager's claim that I said that the rental was running good is FALSE. I have a witness on the days that I had called regarding the trouble I was having with the rental. Holly, the Assistant Manager did NOT ask or offer me another rental vehicle. As for [redacted], the representative or agent I spoke with in fact told me over the phone that it was rejected due to the paperwork being incorrect. I also have a witness to that matter as well. I had enough money in my account for the $39.99 or $40, and the money was never taken out of my account. I never received the letter that East Side Auto Sales received regarding that.  Yes, they offered to split almost half of the costs of getting the car fixed and I accepted. I am still having trouble with the car and as of March 27, 2017, the car acted as if it did not want to start. And as of March 28, 2017 it took several startup attempts to get the car started in the morning. It has not wanted to start at all since the afternoon.  I did call East Side Auto Sales and left a voicemail regarding the problem. As of today, March 29, 2017, I still cannot get the [redacted] started which is a inconvenience for me and my family because I ended up having to get  friend of mine to take my child to school after they made several attempts to help get the car started with jumper cables and it still will not start.

May 18, 2016Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond to this complaint, [redacted] did purchase a 2004 [redacted] from us on March 28, 2016. The vehicle was sold with an in-house Power Train Warranty which covers only the major components of the engine, transmission and drive train for 30 days...

or 1200 miles (whichever occurs first). He was also offered the opportunity to purchase an additional Service Contract through an outside vendor which offered an extended time frame and expanded parts coverage. [redacted] declined the offer for that additional coverage. Please refer to the attached copies of paperwork signed. At some point after purchase [redacted] did approach us with a noise that he was hearing in the vehicle, We had a mechanic check it out and he said that the catalytic converter was making a slight noise, The drivability and reliability of the vehicle was not being affected, The catalytic converter does not affect the safety of the vehicle and is not part of the state inspection in Pennsylvania, The only inspection that the converter would be checked is in a county emissions inspection. Here in Adams County we have not adopted county emission testing and our paperwork states that customers are responsible for their own emissions inspections where applicable, The in-house warranty does not cover any exhaust system work and so there was no coverage for the catalytic converter. [redacted] was told by the dealer that he would be responsible to take care of this issue if he felt compelled to address it. He asked the dealer about hollowing it out and was told that we would NOT do that here. Any repairs would be done at his expense and on his own time elsewhere. We then received a call on April 29, 2016 from [redacted] that the car was not running properly and that he was leaving it at a gas station for us to pick up. It was immediately picked up and brought into the garage. The top end of the motor has been damaged and the motor will now need to be replaced. The technician explained that this type of damage was likely caused by over reving the engine. This is in NO WAY connected to his complaint about the catalytic converter, If the catalytic converter would have failed it would have worst case scenario choked out the motor and the top end could not have suffered damage, He had put over 2000 miles on the vehicle in 32 days. The day the vehicle was left for us to pick up it was beyond the coverage date and far above the covered mileage. He also never added the proper insurance to the vehicle which he was to complete in the first 7 days, If he had an accident, the vehicle would not have been covered for any repair or replacement. We do not feel responsible to cover any of the needed repairs since they did not fall into the Warranty Contract. Thank you again for allowing us to provide you with our side of the story in this matter. If you have any further questions please feel free to call me at ###-###-####.Thank You, Stephanie B. - manager

My fiancé Got a jeep from this place and had nothing but problems with it since. Had to get a new belt put on it, they did their part in doing that. But after the belt got put on, the car kept overheating. Replaced a radiator, water pump and thermostat, it still overheats. When I called and asked what they could do, they told me that they couldn't do anything. Now I don't know much about warrantys or anything but yes her 1200 mile is up on it, but I'm pretty sure they sold her a faulty car.

I am rejecting this response It's sad that after I payed for a broken car from East side auto sales. You guys still want to push it by lying in your response via email. Stephine and Tim who run East side auto sales (Tim the owner) both knowingly and willing sell and put cars on the lot that don't meet or exceed safety protocol. Also as a way of showing The Revdex.com that what I say is valid, I've attached 3 pictures of people who have Been scammed just like me. It's unsettling that business's get away with stuff like this when the people they are selling to put in hard work to obtain the money, they spend on junk cars. East side doesn't own up to the stuff they do or half the stuff they tell customers they will do for them. If none of this sounds reasonable I'd suggest any one at The Revdex.com to go to East side auto sales and have a look at the cars they have out for sale. As for the pictures I posted  you can go on [redacted] and check out the many complaints left by unsatisfied customers simply type "East side auto Scams " and it will come up on your computer. East side does what they want how they want I guess rules don't apply to them?

November 7, 2014 [redacted] contacted the office in regards to getting his money back, he stated he lost his job and would not be able to make the payments, The secretary explained to him that she would have management call him back. AT that point we had offered half of the down payment to another vehicle of his choice. November 11 2014 management spoke with [redacted] who was not ok with this agreement, at which time we came to an agreement to refund him all of the money which was put down except the 10% which was $80.00. [redacted] came into the office Tuesday evening, and we refunded the $720 back to the card he originally used to hold this vehicle,Thank you for allowing us to provide you with our side of the story in this matter. I bought a car there only had it 2 months then gave it back. The check engine light was on the car was in rough shape. One day after having it, it was over heating. Also shut off while you were driving. Took it in they didn't do anything to it because no longer then a month later I go out and its over heating again and burning oil. I took it back and told them to keep it. For them charging double the worth of the car the car better be in very good shape and atleast be in good mechanical shape. All there cars on there lot are beat up in a some way. Never buy from them. $400 a month for a turd Is not worth it.

April 11, 2017Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond to this complaint. As far as the complaint regarding Our rental vehicle & the conversation that took place, I have witnesses as well that heard our Conversation. At this point it's hearsay. The CARS Protection Plus warranty was not accepted because payment was declined. I have attached a copy of the letter that CARS sent to [redacted] advising him of this. I have had several conversations with [redacted] in regards to this matter. I advised him if funds were available to contact his bank & get documentation so I can contact CARS. To this day I have not received any documentation from [redacted]. A garage appointment was scheduled for March 31, 2017 address his complaints regarding tires, struts, sway bar link, and radiator hose leak. At that time our mechanic determined the struts passed the bounce test required by PA. We replaced 3 tires as the 4" tire was replaced the day after he purchased the vehicle. The left front sway bar end link was replaced and the radiator hose was tighten. To the best of my knowledge we have addressed and resolved [redacted]'s complaints. I have attached a copy of our Warranty Contract and Terms as [redacted] seems to be confused on the warranty the vehicle was sold with. Thank you again for allowing us to provide you with our side of the story in this matter. If you have any further questions please feel free to call me at [redacted].Thank you, Holly M. you for allowing us the opportunity to respond to this complaint. [redacted] purchased a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica AS IS on 03/04/2017. On 03/08/2017 I received a call from a female who identified herself as [redacted] but who in fact was her daughter [redacted]. She complained that brakes were not catching, abs light & check engine light were on but vehicle was "driving good". I spoke to management regarding her complaints and agreed to look (G) the vehicle. I called customer back that day to schedule an appointment & had to leave a message for her to call me back. I never received a call back until 03/20/2017. At that time we scheduled an appointment for 03/22/2017 G) 10:30. This appointment was a no call no show. On 03/23/2017 her daughter [redacted] called asking what time her appointment was. At that time she was told it was the day before (G) 10:30. She starting yelling, cursing 8 being rude and hung up. On 04/06/2017 [redacted] called again to make an appointment. Advised contract is in Lisa's name 8 she should be calling if there is an issue. On 05/27/2017 her collector contacted [redacted] in regards to her past due balance. At that time she started yelling & cursing at her telling her vehicle is in garage. On 05/31/2017 [redacted] called me to discuss vehicle repairs & repair invoice. She wanted assistance paying bill so she could get vehicle out of the garage. I discussed estimate with management and advised her that we were unable to financially assist her for the following reasons:*She purchased vehicle on 03/03/2017 & has since put 4000 plus miles on vehicle since date of sale.I have attached a copy of the buyers guide 8 as is form [redacted] signed advising this vehicle is being sold without a warranty. Review: Company is not returning a down payment on a hold of a car sale. Saying that I am not entitled to that money saying I "purchased" the car which in no way have I done or signed anything stating I have. Ive been treated with no courtesy or helpful solution to gaining my money back other then saying that the money is Non transferable Non negotiable which I was not under the impression since I just wanted to put money down to hold if I would go through with a sale. But after careful review I have decided to not go with this car and the company for that matter because of their reputation and constant problems against the company from consumersDesired Settlement: Would like my down payment on a car refunded and no further connection to this company from here on out
