East Springs Animal Hospital

To whom it may concern,
I am filing this review and complaint because I have not received any compensation and the facility gave an unprofessional response to the lack of responsibility and care for my cat, who was very sick and was clinging to lifeMy cat was given poor care and poor attention with unnecessary testing that gave inadequate answers, as the condition he had would not show up on x-rayI was told there was no immediate concern for his health and that he would be fine, and for me to bring him in the next day for more testingThe vet gave no information that my cat was in critical condition, only that my cat would have to come back for an ultrasound because she informed me that she does not perform ultrasoundsLater on that evening, my cat became highly distressed and the situation turned critical very fastI rushed my cat to an emergency vet clinic to go through a couple hours of him getting ACTUAL care and appropriate testing was done to which we were told that according to the color of his gums and the test results showing the large amount of fluid in his abdomen was slowly causing him to suffocateAnd by the looks of the fluid, it appeared to be caused by a terminal form of cancer which we were unaware my cat had
This cat belonged to both my elderly mother and I, and we are both on pensions and limited incomesThere was no reason except for lack of competence, concern, and responsibility as to do what needed to be done to let me know that my cat was slowly dying, and what could have been a fair prognosis to let us know the most kind thing to do was put him to sleep, but instead this veterinarian wanted to run more tests at a later time and later date to see if she could figure out what the problem wasIt appeared to me that all this facility really worries about is making money off of the suffering of the animals that come to the hospital for careThe care and the health of the animals come secondary to the monetary gain and profits.There was absolutely no reason for my cat to suffer or for my mother and I to go into a financial hardship to get answers for a cat that had terminal cancer and the test that shows this information could have easily been performed in the clinic at east Springs Animal Hospital, but instead we had additional expenses at the animal E.R., which was still lower in price than what East Springs Animal Hospital wanted to charge me when they told me to bring my cat backIn addition, the vet at East Springs placed a sub-Q pocket of fluid under my cat's skin, when in fact he needed an actual IV placed directly into his veins to hydrate himThe sub-Q was placed incorrectly into my cat and blew right out of his skin and all over him (and this is what a professional is paid to do)By the time we got him to the E.R, his gums were completely white, he had an extremely low temperature, and there was a massive amount of fluid in his abdomenNothing in my cat's medical had changed between the four hours I had him at East Springs and the E.RWhile performing the aspiration of his abdominal area at the E.R., they were able to remove thirty mLs of fluid from that cavityThe E.Rvet stated that that was only about one third of the fluid that was in there and there was much more that needed to come out to give him only temporary relief because he was dyingRather than East Springs making this choice easier on my cat, emotionally easier on my mom and I, and more financially consideration, the East Springs vet's inability to do right by us all caused my cat to suffer and for his pain to be prolonged more than need be, and also cost us more money to get the correct answers that the East Springs vet should've been capable of givingThe East Springs vet should've had the knowledge and wherewithal to run all tests neededInstead, this caused our cat more pain and suffering, and as a pet owner, it ripped our hearts out that he had to suffer like that
It is just not right and something needs to be done about itChanges need to be madeOffice staff and vets are unprofessional and argumentative, and instead of offering an apology, I received nothing but a bucket full of excuses and they were not willing to accommodate any refund for their negligence and unprofessionalism which caused the scenario that I described above
