East Valley RV Specialists Reviews (13)

East Valley RV Specialists would like to refund Mr*** for the Tucost. I would like to issue a check to Mr*** in the amount of $736.65, the amount of the tune-up. I have attached a copy of the invoice to support this number. The charges billed were $in parts, $in tax and $for labor. I hope we can come to an agreement on this. My apology to you for your dissatisfaction with our company. *** ***

Taking away the fact of the fuel system, after picking up the vehicle the oil case filled with gasoline. My complaint has nothing to do with first time I took the vehicle in. I drove it to New York and back and decided it would probably be a good time for a tune up. The tune up cost 1510 dollars and after that the crankcase filled with gasoline. Something done during the tune up had to result in this. It ran fine from here to New York and back accept for the fact that I still had no gas gauge and it was very slow filling at the pump. As far as the funds go, I contacted them as so as my bank informed me of a problem, they didn't get the check back until after that. I took cash to cover the check and really don't see what this has to do with the issue at hand.My complaint is that I took in for a tune up and it hasn't run since.  It is old all though it only has about 90k miles. I fail to see what the age has to do with it since I am not saying anything about the fuel issue even though I have the tank out again putting a new sending unit in and finding the problem that made the fuel tank fill with gas in the first place. I feel the service company should refund the $1510.00  I believe this to be a reasonable request concerning the fact that I am the one damaged here. Sorry I ever had a tune up. [redacted]

This is a very competant and experienced business that can get the RV job done...big or small. Jeremy , Frank and Tommy are great and very knowledgeable. They even came to my RV site to do a repair since I was not able to drive my RV. I am forever greatful for their compassion and knowledge to help me to get back on the road. I highly recommend this business.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The...

response received from RV Specialists is fabricated and untrue.  First of all, I did show up on the 24th at RV Specialists and spoke with Jeremy about not having anyone to drive me back home on that day and was told that as long as the RV was in their possession by February 28th, everything will be covered.  Not once was I told that there was even an issue with there being a problem with the date.    This is news to me about being told " as soon as we had time".  If I was told this, I would have never risked not having the repairs covered.  That is just common sense.....Second, their fabrication of we were not renewing the warranty (who has a 50K RV with no warranty???) was never spoken by me.  In fact we were trying to renew the warranty, with either the existing company or 2 other companies, which I have emails to show that I was working on a new warranty,  so again fabrication, this was never discussed.  When they reached them for the repairs, we would then have a contact for renewal of the warranty.  Third, no one ever called on Friday, February 28th to inform me that the warranty company declined to cover the repair..... this is the sticking point.  The warranty company claims that RV Specialists did not contact them until March 3rd for submission of the repairs.  I have asked RV Specialists for a copy of the phone bill showing the call on the 28th, so I could go back to them with proof someone called.  To date, RV Specialists has not provided that information.  THe RV sat there under the impression the work was being done.  The 2 months is what it took them to contact me to let me know the work is not being done.  There was no communication from RV Specialists at all. Fourth, when my wife called the owner, he immediately started yelling and swearing at her and blaming me (her husband) for the confusion.  She asked him to not to yell and swear at her and asked that we really try to resolve this issue.  He declined and told her to take him to court.  Again, bad business.  Since they cannot prove they contacted the warranty company as "promised", they did not contact them and now we are left with this issue.

Regards,

On 7/22/2014 Mr. [redacted] brought his coach in.  He stated hereplaced his fuel pump and sending unit and the gauge now always reads empty. Wedropped the fuel tank to find the wiring harness was pinched and the sender wassweeping the wrong way.  Mr. [redacted]’s complaint is East Valley...

RV used an aftermarket sending unit and charged him$1500 for this. He was charged $600 labor plus $361.48 for the sending unit.  On a Ford product you can only get a genuine replacement parts for 8 – 10 years.  Mr. [redacted] coach is 25 years old.  Therefore only aftermarket parts are available for his coach.Unfortunately Mr. [redacted] check to us bounced.  We called to notify him of this.  He informed us he would be bringing the coachback for more work as he was to take a road trip to New York..  He made an appointment for 8/15/2014 and made good on the bounced checkthat day also. Mr. [redacted] states his coach is overheating and that the fuel put another new one in at no charge to Mr. [redacted].  He picks up his coach on 9/02/2014.Mr. [redacted] returns from his trip and would like to bring his coach back in for more repairs.  He brings his coach in on 10/31/2014.  One of the issues he wanted attended to was now the tank is slow to fill.  We found no slowing in filling of the tank.  Mr.Weeks also stated East Valley RV charged him $1510 for a major tuneup.  If you were to look at the invoice you wouldsee he was charged $456.00 in labor plus approximately $200 in parts.  The balance of the ticket was for otherissues he wanted repaired totaling the $1510.00.  Mr. [redacted] was advised his coach was ready for pickup.  He was unable to afford to pay for theauthorized charges of $1510 at this time.  Mr. [redacted] calls 3 months later on 2/25/2015 advising he now has the funds available to pay for his invoice.  We pull the coach out from storage to find it idling rough.  We found some minor issues.  We repair with no charge to Mr. [redacted] for this.  Mr. [redacted] makes another appointment for 4/27/2015.  Stated the coach ran great when he took it on2/26/2015.  Coach now has a dead battery and when he jumped it the coach ran poorly.  He had it towed in.  We did someinitial diagnosis.  Immediately it was noted the front tires tread were badly separated.  Mr. [redacted] declined all repairs and stated he would pick up his coach.  He was advised there would be no charge. Mr. [redacted] picked up his 1989 Ford Tioga on 9/22/2015, 5months after he declined repairs.  I feel there is no refund due to Mr. [redacted] at this time.  East Valley RV was patient with his financial situation and worked with him.  We also understand his coach needs a lot of work done to it.  We do not put pressure on our customers to fix everything we find at once.  We do however note top priorities.  This is an unfortunate situation.Sincerely,[redacted]

I believe this to be a reasonable request concerning the fact that I am the one damaged here. Sorry I ever had a tune up.

I must say that this place performed well beyond my expectations. After initially taking my Monaco Diplomat to another company to have an air leak in my suspension looked at, they said they couldn't fix it at recommended these guys. After dropping it off and explaining my problem, [redacted] (my service adviser) took care of everything for me. He had the problem diagnosed, fixed, and even had the whereabouts to contact my extended warranty company and get the problem paid for by them. The only time that I had to wait for anything was for my Good Sam representative to come out and verify the problem. I would highly recommend them to anybody who asks as they are now the only people who I will be taking my RV to.

If I could give them a zero I would. I took my RV in to fix a hydraulic fitting that was leaking, an a/c service and to to get a routine service on a [redacted] generator. Every repair was butchered. Total trips were greater than 6 and I finally gave up and repaid another service center to do these correctly. After a $1700 bill I ended up with a larger leak in hydraulic line, an a/c system that did not even blow air in the cabin, and a generator that leaked both fuel and anti-freeze. The hydraulic leak was butchered by putting in a new fitting on a line that was not even leaking prior so I now had 2 hydraulic leaks. The roof A/C service had my A/C unit not in the duct hole and crushing the duct. Thus not allowing any air to blow in the coach. The generator had no issues and I just brought it in for a routine service. They said that I needed a new water pump as they claimed in had a slow leak. I said replace it as I trusted them. When they were finished I had a fuel leak at the new fuel filter and Anti-Freeze leaking. They said sorry and after 3 times stopped the fuel leak but NEVER was able to fix the Anti-Freeze leak. It turns out that they did not install the water pump properly.
Their facility appears professional and nice but their mechanics are awful. Ultimately you are only as good as your mechanics.
Stay away!!!

Review: Brought motorhome in for warranty work before the warranty expired and company failed to contact the warranty company and the warranty expired and repairs were not done and are not covered. Company will not repair the necessary work that would have been covered. Also, while inspecting the motorhome the company ripped up the seals on the roof and will not replace the seals from damage they caused.Desired Settlement: Repairs to be made that should have been covered under the warranty, along with the seals on the roof.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The response received from RV Specialists is fabricated and untrue.

Review: I took my 1989 Ford tioga in for a fuel gauge problem and they were absolutely unable to correct. But charged me 1500 dollars to drop tank and install an aftermarket sending unit and assured me it would be alright. The tank also would not take gas at the lowest setting on pump, kept shutting off. I drove the unit from Arizona to New York and back with no problems except for fueling and had to calculate miles for next refuel. When I got back I took it in for a tuneup. I had just bought this unit and wasn't sure how long ago it had been since being tuned. They charged me 1510.00 to put plugs, wires dist cap and normal tuneup equipment. I drove the vehicle back to my shop, (approx 15 miles) I have a small shop that it barely fits in so I have to pull it out daily so I can work. All I did from that point is pull it out in the morning and back in at nite. This went on for three days until it started running real rough. They told me to bring it in, but by that point it wouldn't run at all so I had it towed. They told me the crankcase was full of gasoline and they wanted to pull the pan and put a new oil pump in. This made no since to me so I had it towed back to my shop. I am now trying to figure out what would cause the fuel to get in the crank case. I pulled the plugged and drain all the gas out of it. Could not believe how much was in it. Got gas all over me even in my mouth. It shot out so hard it was bouncing off the wheel. I had the charger on batteries and thank God there was no spark as it overfilled the catcher and gas was an inch thick all around. One spark and good bye me, shop and probably half the buildings I am connected to.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF EAST VALLEY RV.Desired Settlement: It is my feeling that since they charged me $1500 to fix the fuel problem and never did get it fixed, and than charged me another 1510 dollars for a tune up and that the fuel in crankcase problem occurred after they tuned it that the cause had to have something to do with what they did. Keep in mind I had just driven the thing 5000 miles without issue. It wasn't until they worked on it that this all started. With this there complete disregard to my problems just added insult to injury. I believe I am entitled to $1510.00 back since no cure was ever suggested or attempted. $3000.00 for these two items is beyond any normal charges as I have talked to several other mechanics. Let it be know that if this is not settled in some equitable agreement I will be filling a small claims with the court system. Just be fair.

Called East Valley and got an appointment for a lube job only on class A RV for Wed May 6 at 8:00. When I arrived and checked in the Service Manager sent a mechanic out and lubed the chassis while I filled out paperwork. I never even had to move the RV into a service bay. In 25 minutes I was on the road again. The staff was courteous and pleasant to deal with. I would recommend them to anybody needing RV repairs or service done. I am leaving for the summer but I will go back there with all my RV needs and repairs. Top notch facility. The price was right too! Best I have found!

was very impressed with the serviced I received here. I normally don't write reviews about companies but these guys went far above my expectations. I am recently retired and me and the wife bought a used [redacted] Phaeton to travel around the country with. This is our first motorhome and thus we don't know much about them. Thus when one of our air conditioning units stopped producing cool air I wasn't sure what to do or where to take it. I called [redacted] (another great company) and asked where I should take it since I am currently living in it while we travel. [redacted] (The owner of [redacted]) personally told me to take it to East Valley RV Specialists and said that they would take good care of me. When I called to make an appointment I was almost very disappointed when they told me that they were very busy and wouldn't be able to look at it for about a week, but when I told them that I was having air conditioning problems (in the middle of the Phoenix summer) they were more than sympathetic and got me in the next day. While they ordered the parts and performed the repairs they plugged me in to their electricity and water and let me continue living in the unit for the 3 days that I was there. So to say the least I was extremely impressed with the ammount of care, compassion and promptness that they showed. It was like dealing with family. I am very happy that [redacted] recommended them and I will now be recommending them as well.
