I want to thank the people at Energy Star Heating and Cooling for the sales and service that they have provided us in regards to an installation of a new high efficiency furnace This last winter our furnace fan stopped working and they came out "after hours" to take a look at what needed to be done While the fix was simple, we began discussing the need for us to replace our year old furnace We looked at a number of the options that they offered and selected our package The installation was made while we were on vacation, so there was little interruption in our everyday life We have called them to make some adjustments and modifications on the new unit, and they have been followed through on everything we have asked We would consider them for other projects in the future, should the need arise

Energy Star's installer *** *** took time out of his day off to fix a leak on a recently installed water heaterVery courteous and efficient
*** *** came out after hours and installed the humidifier and was very prompt and friendly
The owner, *** ***, provided excellent sales and installation information on the heating/cooling system
Overall I was very pleased and would gladly recommend this crew to any friends or family

My A/C unit didn't work when we turned it on the weekend of Mothers Day. It was warm and humid so we decided it would be a good time to start the A/C up. Needless to say the A/C wasn't putting out cold air. Since we had a NIPSCO Warranty on the Furnace and A/C, we contacted NIPSCO HOME SOLUTIONS to schedule a service call. NIPSCO HOME SOLUTIONS then contacted Energy Star to come service our unit.

Their office called me that Monday morning to arrange a service call. Their service tech [redacted] called me an hour prior to showing up and arrived when he said he would.

[redacted] took a look at our aging exterior A/C unit and proceeded to tell me that more than likely had a leak in the unit, since one of the lines had ice build up, and that parts were no longer available for our unit. [redacted] also informed me that based off the serial number, the unit was installed sometime in 1974.

Two pounds of R22 and 2 valves later, he was on his way and we had cold air again. At no time did [redacted] ever pressure us to buy a new unit but did inform us that we might continue to have A/C issues with the unit due to refridgerant leakage.

We contacted Energy Star to arrange an estimate. [redacted] showed up and explained to us some of the newer features of replacing both the A/C and furnace. He gave us a quote and again, there was no pressure to buy from them.

We ended up gettting a couple of other quotes from other well known companies in the area. Needless to say, Energy Star's quote was about $2,000 less than the other companies.

I think we are getting a pretty good deal for the amount of work to be done. Will review them after our new unit is installed.

I am writing this review for the 2nd time as I think it was accidentally deleted when I tried to send it--this company is efficient,caring and professional--called them when our heat went out unexpectedly-explained the difficult situation-the weather was not freezing but had a critically ill family member--and ill people can not maintain body heat as easily as those of us who are healthy-had never before used this company and believe me they treated me as though I was a family member--came over to check the furnace in a very timely manner-and although it was the weekend and the part was not available-they made sure the furnace and pilot were safe and guarenteed they would be back in the a.m. to fix the problem--gave me a # to contact them after hours if I had any questions-which I did and they took my call-1st thing the next morning they fixed the problem-i am forever greatful for the expediancy of their help and will highly recommend them to others and will use them for all heating and ac needs in the future.This company has the highest rating possible from me.
