Review: Last year in 2012 I went with my family and friends to the Diwali function in Virginia. There was a raffle going on so I decided to buy a ticket to have a chance at winning. I won the first place prize for the raffle which included a free 2 way ticket to my country India. I had almost 6 months from the time I won till the time the raffle receipt would expire. In December I called the company and notify them that I would be leaving soon. About mid February my father's condition in India worsened and so I needed to leave the Country as soon as possible. I had my son write an email to the company's head on February 19 about the dates I would like to leave which were between March 10-15 and returning between May 5-10. We never received a response back so we called the company. Almost every single day the company would either not pick up our phone calls or when we call them they would get mad at us. They told us that they had no tickets available. We followed all the guidelines of the raffle. On March 25 I purchased a 2 way ticket with my own money and went to India because my father was in the hospital there. The raffle receipt expiration date was March 31 and the guidelines strictly told us to make arrangement of tickets 3 weeks prior which we did since February 19. The company never issued us a ticket and were not willing to reimburse the cost of the trip either. They advertised in front of hundreds of people at the Diwali function yet fail to hold their end of the deal. I have the emails as well as the original receipt for the raffle. I just returned from India 2 weeks ago and would like to solve this issue with this company.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to reimburse me for the cost of the ticket which was approximately about $1300 US dollars.

We rec eived your letter today, just FYI [redacted] is no longer with this company for the past 8 years, so your earlier communication with us would have not come to our desk.

Regarding complaint launched by [redacted] is just an attempt to give us unnecessary trouble and verbal and abusive language on the phone .

We received email from him on 19feb I am attaching all the email exchanges we have had, his first email says going to India and then when we sent him email back as to where in India they did not respond back ,next his wife calls our office on 22feb saying she did not get my email it went into junk.

We did inform her that these are reward tickets given by Qatar air there is no monetary reward and it is on availablility basis. We asked her how come they did not contact us earlier she told us that his documents or passport were not ready.

We have always been in touch , with [redacted]. [redacted], advising her that this inventory is managed by the airline and the availability that they see online is not compatible with the award tickets but we have requested the reservation and awaiting their response , email sent to the airline is attached.

Secondly she said they were waiting lor news From India as to when his NIECE IS GETTING MARRIED.

The letter you sent us says his father was sick a TOTAL LIE.

We have die E mail exchange from his son saying my dad has to go For a wedding.

We finally got the reservation confirmed and we called his wife who said that [redacted] already left for India as he had to be there for the wedding.

At no point we had promised anything wrong and they were informed from the very beginning that this reward is only based on availability.

Kindly see attached email exchanges and message that was sent to Qatar air to try' and get his seat confirmed.
