Eastern Arizona Computers Reviews (2)

Unfortunately I had a bad experience with Eastern Arizona Computers (EAC) I took in a HP laptop that experiencing a power problem (all programs & things were working just fine, just a power problem)Sometimes I would have to open/lift the display lid more than once for the display to come on and sometimes the display would just take longer than to start; sometimes the laptop would power off instead of going to sleep; etc I googled the problem on the internet and the only thing I could find was a possible CPU (processor) problemEAC said that would be a very rare problem (and did not test it, to my knowledge) At first I was told my power cord was bad, but that was not the case; I had an extra power cord and an extra (new) battery alsoI was also told a new hard drive was tested and a couple of other things, but they were not the problemNext I am told the laptop needs a new mother board which, after they replaced, was not the problem either Then I am told a lot of my photo files were corrupted, and they could not figure out what was causing the power problem, and suggested to trash the laptop in the boneyard! EAC tried to revert the laptop back to Windows (which came with the laptop; then I had upgraded it to Windows and then to Windows - with no problems) to try and correct the corrupt photos issue or whatever reason I'm not really sure of Having the laptop returned (over two months later), I found that a lot of my many installed programs were missing and I was unable to access my Microsoft word files, photos & things due to a 'permissions' problem, and my internet browser not working! Not only could they not figure out the 'power problem' they messed everything else up tonow, if I get the power issue repaired, I will also have to re-install everything! Icing for the cakeEAC charged me for the diagnoses!

Unfortunately I had a bad experience with Eastern Arizona Computers (EAC).
I took in a HP laptop that experiencing a power problem (all programs & things were working just fine, just a power problem). Sometimes I would have to open/lift the display lid more than once for the display to come on and sometimes the display would just take longer than normal to start; sometimes the laptop would power off instead of going to sleep; etc.

I googled the problem on the internet and the only thing I could find was a possible CPU (processor) problem. EAC said that would be a very rare problem (and did not test it, to my knowledge).

At first I was told my power cord was bad, but that was not the case; I had an extra power cord and an extra (new) battery also. I was also told a new hard drive was tested and a couple of other things, but they were not the problem. Next I am told the laptop needs a new mother board which, after they replaced, was not the problem either.

Then I am told a lot of my photo files were corrupted, and they could not figure out what was causing the power problem, and suggested to trash the laptop in the boneyard!

EAC tried to revert the laptop back to Windows 7 (which came with the laptop; then I had upgraded it to Windows 8 and then to Windows 10 - with no problems) to try and correct the corrupt photos issue or whatever reason I'm not really sure of.

Having the laptop returned (over two months later), I found that a lot of my many installed programs were missing and I was unable to access my Microsoft word files, photos & things due to a 'permissions' problem, and my internet browser not working! Not only could they not figure out the 'power problem' they messed everything else up to... now, if I get the power issue repaired, I will also have to re-install everything!

Icing for the cake... EAC charged me for the diagnoses!
