The previous sent complaints were just discovered in our junk file. I will respond to this now. A home inspection was completed on 4/30/2016 and the customer paid with a credit card. The inspection revealed much information. The garbage disposal was tested during the inspection and noted...

on the report. There was no leaking present at the time. Water is run through the sink and no leak or damage to the disposal were seen. We do offer any warranties for our inspections as anything can begin to fail at any time. I have attached appropriate paperwork backing up my findings including a copy of our pre inspection agreement.Regards,Rick P[redacted]Eastern

We were hired to do repair work out at [redacted] NJ.  Original work order (attached) was for $1,200  to remove cedar shakes on the exterior left rear wall and install sheathing paper 15 lb. . The customer negotiated the price down to $800.  The job was completed...

on 10/19 2016 and the customer signed the completion certificate.  (attached) We ended up doing additional sheathing work, replacing and securing a band board, framing. Some of the additional work was to compensate for their not being as much cedar shakes to remove. However it was agreed that this work would compensate for the difference. We have over 20 man hours in for this job that should have taken 1/2 that. The customer was insistent upon additional work being done as it was hidden at the time and she could not have known it was there until we took the shakes off. (Of course, either could we)  She wrote a check for $856 and promptly stopped payment. Saying we still have many things left to do. Electrical, framing, door jambs etc.   I told her that those items were not part of the contract she signed and additional charges would apply. She insisted the job was not done properly and offered $450. I countered with $550 because I was now realizing how difficult this whole job was getting.  I am currently suing her in the Special Civil Part Small Claims in Freehold for the total amount. We also did another small job for her for Powder Post Beetles $350 to an infested area only. She has called us out to her home 4 times for additional areas she is uncovering. We explained that this was a spot treatment only. We went out and treated it at no charge each time. She also had us out for another estimate for a larger job that took a good deal of time only to go with someone else. (I do understand that of course and if none of all this other inconvenience hadn't happened then it would seem like no big deal. Her demanding additional work being done at the same price and all the time my men have already put into this job has forced me to take the only steps I have left and that is to sue her. She has not been reasonable through this entire affair and I do not have an unlimited time to put in for such a small job. We have been in business since 1986 and do our very best to satisfy all our customers, this was an exception.

The customer has not responded in detail as to my suggestions only making a blank statement rejecting my observations regarding his complaint. I would like more details as to why the unit is not operating. Did he ck the jamming mechanism?  The inspection report is not a warranty but only a status report of the current condition at the time of inspection. Unless the customer can prove to me his disposal was not working at the time of inspection I am not going to pay for appliances that wear out.Regards,Rick P[redacted]
