Review: Upon the inspection when in the process of purchasing this home in July, 2013, our inspector saw evidence of termites. The seller then hired Eastern Termite & Pest Control to treat this problem and at that time, she paid $747.93 for which I have the paid bill along with the guarantee. In April of this year, we noticed a swarm of termites in the same room that was treated. We also some sawdust like material in one area. We opened the wall in that area, and the studs were almost completely eaten along with live termites still eating. I called Eastern at that time, and they came and gave an extensive treatment that apparently should have been done the first time. (Treated interior and exterior by drilling holes in the foundation and using 96 gallons of chemical). We then hired a carpenter to replace the studs and he saw that the exterior sheeting was also eaten. He then had to remove the outside vinyl siding to repair the exterior sheeting and also the inside studs. He had to replace plaster board, tape and spackle, replace moulding and then the room had to be painted. This all cost approximately $1500 for which I feel the termite company should have to pay due to the fact that the treatment done 9 months ago was not performed properly.Desired Settlement: Due to the shoddy treatment done originally (termites were not exterminated), we had a $1500 repair bill which I feel Eastern should reimburse me for.
