Contracted Eastern Turf Maintenance to fertilize and control a ground ivy issue my prior service did not. Over the past two years it has gotten worse and now covers almost 1/4 of my back yard...! Called 3-4 times over past summer and while they came out...it continued to get worse. When seading time came...they couldn't do anything as it would possibly kill any new grass. I sprayed a couple small areas with a lawn weed killer from Home Depot and it killed the ivy and did no damage to surrounding grass!! What was it I was paying for....

I hired this company to do my lawn maintenance. paid upfront all fees. I requested non-renewal services. I do not have a contract with the company.The company told me that the service was not renewable and that I could cancel anytime. I called them and told them to stop the service and to stop invoicing. This company is a rip off. They spray the lawn and I have not see any improvement with the lawn. All they do is send invoices.Desired SettlementStop spraying the lawn and stop sending invoices.Business Response /[redacted]/We do not bind anyone to a contract, however, ALL stmts & invoices indicate "service continues from season to season UNLESS WE RECEIVE A NOTICE IN WRITING." The only written communication we rec'd from [redacted] was email dated 2/28/14 at 1:27pm: "We are not happy with the services you provided and were told that the services was not renewable and could be stop anytime.Stop sending invoices. We do not have a contract with your company. Otherwise, I will take action." Upon receipt of his email, his account was canceled.The last service Eastern Turf Maintenance performed on his lawn was completed 2/24/14 (PRIOR to him sending an email). We offer ALL of our customers the opportunity to call at ANY time to request weed control between applications AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. The ONLY call we received from Mrs. [redacted] was on 9/3/13 and the weeds were sprayed 9/6/13. The customer had never raised any other concerns or requested any other services. We have since written off the $64 balance due on his account, HOWEVER, we do not feel as if his complaint should reflect negatively on our company as [redacted] wrote to cancel service AFTER the application was completed.Kindly update us on the resolution to this case.
