Revdex.com:
I am sending this in response to complaint #[redacted] - I accept the response from Easton Hospital

I have received full payment from Easton Hospital after you contacted them, and to date have not received another bill from them either. Though I did receive a catheter associated infection at the time of surgery, I fully understand the reporting criteria the hospital is held to and why I was not contacted by them.
I think of how upsetting this would have been to my 84 year old mother, so I do hope they continue to work on their identified issues in the billing office as they stated in the letter, and this does not happen to other patients.

Thank you,

Dear [redacted]:Easton Hospital has received your letter on behalf of this patient. We have investigated the claim and found that this patient did receive unsatisfactory answers from our customer service department regarding this overpayment. We are currently working to...

improve the timeliness of the service rendered to our patients from this billing center. The overpayment check was mailed to the patient on October 13, 2014. Also, her account is paid in full and she will not be receiving any further bills. I have contacted the patient and she confirmed the receipt of the overpayment check.Additionally, our infection control preventionist contacted the patient to discuss her treatment while in the hospital. Although she was diagnosed with an infection, this infection did not meet the criteria to be classified as a healthcare acquired infection. The patient appeared to be satisfied with this explanation.I am very sorry that this patient did not have a good experience. If there is anything further I can do to make this situation better, please do not hesitate to let me know. We want all our patients to be very satisfied with all aspects of their care.Sincerely,Christine B

Extremely poor quality of care in the ER last night. Dirty room, tubes of some one else's blood left on the sink for a couple hours. Broken furniture. Garbage on the floor. A lot of sitting around. The care they gave was pathetic, especially what they will charge my insurance. Only went there because it was the closest in an emergency. Should have went to St. Luke's like I always do.

Review: Date of my outpatient procedure: 26 April 2013

My doctor: [redacted] informed me that I needed a bunionectomy and the insertion of an artificial joint of my great toe. I agreed to the surgery on the condition that I know what my out of pocket cost would be prior to my undergoing the procedure. He checked with my [redacted] plan and I paid him on a debit card the amount he quoted me.

On the day of my procedure, I asked the admitting person at Easton Hospital to tell me if there were any charges not covered by my provider. Again, I informed her that I would not go ahead with the procedure unless I knew amount I was responsible for. The amount of $561.23 was paid on that day with my credit card which was deducted from my account on 10 May, 2013.

In good faith, based on the information I received from my doctor and Easton Hospital, I underwent the surgery believing my provider would cover the remaining cost of the procedure.

In October 2013, six months after my surgery, I was presented with a bill from Easton Hospital for $2,058.94. I was totally unprepared for this additional bill and I am not able to afford this amount.

I have been forthright with both parties. I do not feel that I was treated justly by Easton Hospital. I do not believe that I owe Easton Hospital $2,058.94 or any amount.

Sincerely,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: My account paid in full.
