My husband was refused service because I am a Nurse. I scheduled dental appointments for my family almost a month ago. My 3 sons , my husband & my self. On Thursday 7/ 23/20 my husband went for his appt around 1 pm they check him for COVID - 19 symptoms. None noted . He informed them that I am a nurse. The dentist told him they can't see him. Because I can be working with COVID patients as a nurse. They saw my son the day before everything was fine. When I called the office on 7/24/20 I left a message for a call back no reply. Called 7/27/20 spoke to the Dentist she informed me that they have to take precautions. Which I completely understand but, would you not asked that questions when I called for my appt or at least put it in your forms. If you ir any family member in your household is a healthcare provider. We can't service you. I feel my profession become a punishment for my husband. We have no symptoms. I have not been in contact with any COVID -19 patients that I know of. She stated she has to keep herself & staffs safe at all. That excuse is unacceptable. This is discrimination!!

Other (requires explanation) For them to do a better pre screen when someone call for appt. They should inform the clients if you or anyone else in your household is a nurse or healthcare provider. We can't service you.
As a service provider to a large base of elderly patients, we are being extremely careful who we see and the way we perform procedures. As with all healthcare providers we have implemented a pre-screening process. A deficiency in this pre-screen questionnaire, which was misconstrued as discrimination by the customer, has now been rectified. We have incorporated a new question in our screening questionnaire to include a question about being in contact with healthcare providers who might have treated/help treat the COVID positive.
