It is true that we resubmitted our Medicare cards (which included Part B coverage), we never received a call from this local enterprise other than receiving a statement (via USPS) indicating that no insurance payment was applied. We attempted several times to contact the billing agency in *** *** ** only to be put in a lengthy queue, finally resulting in an instruction to leave a message (which we did). We NEVER received a return phone call.Furthermore, it is clear to us that they submitted this matter to a collection agency before a Medicare claim was even filed. We confirmed this by calling Medicare. With the collection notice in hand, the Medicare person stated that no claim from this enterprise was in their system. My take on this fiasco is that this enterprise is out of control. Their billing function was describe to me by a person sitting at the Hilliard front desk as being accomplished by a remote third party. It appears that appropriate business controls are not in place to prevent this kind of "mal-service" from taking place.By the way, we attempted several time to speak with a person at Eastside Dermatology to resolve this problem and could not get any attention until the Revdex.com the Ohio State Attorney Generals office were consulted

The consunier is not [redacted] it is [redacted] our patient. An invalid Medicare card wasgiven to bill for date of service 8/11/15. We have made multiple attempts to contact thepatient to get this niatter resolved. Multiple statements were mailed as well as phone callswere made. Finally when a...

valid insurance card was not provided we had no choice but toturn this over to our collection company. We have had many correspondences with thebilling department over this matter; we did try many times to reach the patient. I am not **rehow the patient did not receive the multiple statements but did receive the collectioin letter. The patients husband [redacted] finally came into the Hilliard office and provide thecorrect insurance card on 3/15/16. We have since filled with Medicare and are awaitingpayment for the service provided. All of this could have been avoided if [redacted] or [redacted] had provided the correct insurance card or provided it before 3/15/16. The patient hasbeen taken out of collections and will be billed if any remaining amount is owed afterInsurance pays.I assure you we are neither incompetent nor running a scam. The patient is our priority it isunfortunate we couldn't have solved this earlier. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you.Cheyenne J[redacted]

Mr. [redacted] was seen at Eastside Dermatology on 7/10/15 for an office visit for a mole check. This doctors visit is never a free consultation an none of the staff would have said that is was. Mr. [redacted]’s insurance was billed as is always the case in this circumstance. His insurance company paid...

the entire amount for the visit and no money was owed by the patient. He scheduled voluntarily, another doctors visit to the moles removed on 7/31/15. His insurances responded by having the primary insurance pay partially and his secondary insurance put everything towards deductible. Sometimes the insurances leave a balance that is owed by patient. This is the case in this matter the remaining balance is $5.58. Once again this balance is not from the office visit it is from the biopsy procedure. The insurance company provides a complete form of charges and payments to the patient via mail. We have made multiple attempts to explain and provide information to Mr. [redacted], that he is responsible for the balance. He has called our staff rude, yelling and combative which are all unnecessary. The resolution would be to have Mr. [redacted] pay the balance $5.58 in which he owes. If you have any further questions please contact me. Also we would be happy to provide documentation from Insurance company if agreed upon. Thank you, Cheyenne G[redacted] ###-###-####.

I have read the resolution sent by Eastside Dermatology and I am disappointed in them. Attached in this email are three documents. The first document is the billing statement I received after paying all my medical bills except for the "free consultation." The second document is the statement I received after speaking to the office and telling them I should not have to pay the 20 dollars. As you can see they changed the areas in what I owe still totaling 20 dollars. You will also note that the 5.58 in question is still for the original "free consultation" on July 10th. The third document shows the statement I received after contacting the Revdex.com. As you can see, they changed the 5.58 to the date of July 31st instead of the original July 10th. You will also see where it says "patient paid" in document 3 it says 49.16. However in document 2, under the same procedure code, it says patient paid 54.74. The difference is 5.58.

Eastside Dermatology has not offered a mole check as a "free consultation". This appointment is charged to insurance or self paid by the patient. Our staff scheduled Mr. [redacted]l for an office visit for a mole check per his request. In order to resolve this matter we are writing off the remaining owed $5.58. We will be sending to his address a zero balance owed statement. Thank you,Cheyenne G[redacted]
