10/04/2016Revdex.comPO Box 1000DuPont, WA 98327To Whom It May Concern,Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint regarding gutter work done at: [redacted], Molalla, OR [redacted] for Mr. and Mrs. [redacted]. I responded to an ad Mr. [redacted] placed on...

Craigslist for gutter installation, in December 2015. I went out to his home, gave him an estimate for $675.00 to install gutters and downspouts on his new home only. His garage had not been erected at that time. He agreed to the price and my company completed the job a week later. He paid $675 in cash, not $775 as stated in the complaint. On April 4th, 2016, Mr. [redacted] called to tell me his garage had been completed and it was now also ready for gutter installation. He mentioned at that time that something was wrong with his house gutters. I asked if he could send me some photos, but he was in the middle of something at the time. He said he'd send them to me later. After hanging up, I decided to immediately drive out to his home to check on the issue he described, in person. When I arrived, I saw the gutter issue, which Mr. [redacted] included a photo of, with his complaint. This issue happens occasionally on long continuous gutter runs over 50ft+ long, especially with expansion and contraction. I was easily able to fix the issue by connecting additional hangers to the gutters and the house fascia board. Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] came outside to inspect the work and Mrs. [redacted] even mentioned how nice it looked. After that Mr. [redacted] asked that I give him an estimate to put gutters and downspouts on his garage. Upon reviewing the garage roof line it became apparent that it needed flashing installed, in order for the water to properly drain into the gutter, and to prevent water from leaking behind the gutter. Mr. [redacted] became agitated and felt I was trying to unnecessarily charge him more than what was needed. I tried to explain that I would not do the job if I couldn't do it properly. Mr. [redacted] went into the house, and I left.Over the Summer Mr. [redacted] left me a couple of agitated voice messages, saying the gutters were still bad. Because I had already fixed the issue, I figured he was unhappy because of our disagreement on his garage gutters. I did not return his calls because he had become unreasonable and difficult to communicate with. He then began to post ads on Craigslist saying that my materials and workmanship were faulty. He continues to post 6 ads per week, which I am unable to respond to on Craigslist. When we received the Revdex.com letter on Oct 1st, we were happy to finally be able to respond to this situation. When we saw the photo attached to the complaint, we decided to immediately drive out to the house to check on the gutters. We found that the gutter repair we did in April was fine, but that the gutter had developed a kink in the middle sometime between April and now, again because of the length and expansion and contraction. The photo Mr. [redacted] sent in with the complaint is an old photo. Please find our current photos attached to this email. (If they do not come through on this email, I am happy to send again, separately.)We do stand behind our work and wish that there could have been a resolution months ago. We are a small, family-owned business. We take a lot of pride in our work and depend on satisfied customers to refer more work. If Mr. [redacted] would have had a more reasonable demeanor and had sent us a current photo months ago, we could have worked to resolve the issue back then. The two front runs and all downspouts are perfect. There is no warrantable reason to replace them. However, we are willing to offer a reimbursement for the back gutter run and $50 for removal, for a total of $298.85. (There are many gutter companies that will remove for free).Total job was $675:$3.95 per foot for 120 feet= $474$50 for each downspout = $200The back run was 63ft = $248.85 + $50 for removal = $298.85We look forward to a quick response and civil resolution. Thank you,Jason and Amy O[redacted]Eastside Gutter Solutions
