The complainant is one of three roommates leasing the
home. This complaint arose from two unrelated maintenance
issues that were discovered at the same time.
"">
The first issue was due to a basement flood. We
answered an emergency call about flooding to find out one of the two sump pumps
were unplugged. This home, as explained at move-in, is in an area with a
high water table. Although not in a flood zone, we have two sump pumps to
handle unusually high rains or spring thaws. In an effort to reduce their
electrical costs, the tenants decided to unplug one of the pumps. During
a long and heavy rain, the basement flooded. The gas water heater failed
due to the flood. The tenants will be responsible for its repairSecond, the furnace needed replacement. Furnaces break down and luckily this one failed before the cold weather started. It was removed and replaced with a new unit. The contractor stated the flood was not responsible for the furnace failure. We discovered it at the same time as the water heater while determining the damage caused by the flood. There is no charge to the tenants for the furnace replacementThe other two tenants have taken responsibility for the
mistake and thanked us for the way we handled both the furnace and water.
The complainant is not representing them and is on an agenda of her own.
My staff will not mistreat customers. Since the complaint forgot to
mention the cause of the flood and the new furnace, the alleged behavior of my
staff can't be put into question

The sale of the home was his idea.   He listed it with a real estate agent and had his own closing attorney.   He had another six months left on his option to purchase.   A few weeks before closing he emailed me saying he wanted to keep the house.   By that time,  his buyer...

already had financing and was ready to close with no further contingencies. I told him there would be a potential lawsuit from the buyer and the house needed to be sold according to his initial actions.   His behavior with my staff was too belligerent for us to even consider extending his option to purchase.  He has spun this to you as extortion.  In no industry, is a contact required to be extended.  Imagine renting a car,  wanting to keep it for an extra week and then having a meltdown when told the original contract will have to be sufficient.
