Review: On 1/**/15 I opened my [redacted] desktop computer and had a message that my computer was in imminent danger of a virus. The message prevented me from opening [redacted]. Message gave a phone number to call for help. I talked with someone with a foreign accent and sounded like from a foreign country. Her name was [redacted] and the phone number is ###-###-####. She told me that they could fix my problem, but I would have to pay $300 for a 3 year contract or $500 for a 5 year contract and indicated that they solve these problems for [redacted], my internet company. I was very suspicious so I told her that I was going to phone [redacted] and [redacted] to see if they were legitimate. I hung up and, before I could locate proper phone number for both [redacted] and [redacted], she phoned back and said that she had received a call from [redacted] about the problem and that they, [redacted], were to fix it. Reluctantly I gave her my credit card information and signed up for 3 years. They then assumed control over my desktop computer and fixed the problem. Afterword I was still suspicious so I phoned [redacted] Technical support at ###-###-#### and talked to a man named [redacted]. He told me much about this company. He said he receives many calls about them and said that , though [redacted] is a registered company, their advertising and methods are very dishonest. He further stated that they cause the alarming email and lockup to lure uninformed, less technical prospects to their website so they can fleece them for the contract and money. He also told me, if this ever happened again, how to bypass the message and be able to log in to my computer without having to pay [redacted]. Basically he said to force quit the computer, or unplug it, or press [redacted] icon while holding the SHIFT. Simple, and not necessary to phone [redacted]. I am now out $300 as a result of this scam. I phoned my [redacted] fraud unit, which indicated they are also aware of this company. Calls to pcsolution's ###-###-#### unanswered.Desired Settlement: Not just a full refund but you must shut this operation down. [redacted] them and it says they make 1.7 million dollars per year, with just 5 employees. That is a lot of money made by scamming senior citizens like myself. The man at [redacted] told me he does not know why this business has not been shut down a long time ago. AT the very least it needs to be investigated.

Review: On 6/**/13 I purchased a 1yr plan from EasyPC. The service requested was not provided, namely to help me conect to a new email account. A number of things were changed in my computer over a 2-3 day period, but not what I requested. I was told my computer would work like new. It still has slow response time and my email info was changed but not fixed. Also, I was given a phone # supposedly from somewhere in New Jersey. There was supposedly email support, but no email address was provided. When I tried to call on 6/**/13, I was told to call back the next day. I called three times on 7/*/13. The first two time I got a recording saying to call back during office hours which were 8:30am - 5:30pm EST. My calls were made at 7:30am MT and 9:00am MT which would be 9:00am and 11:00am EST. The first two people I spoke to regarding refunding my money, [redacted] and a lady whose name I didn't get, said they would contact their accounts dept and have someone call me, as I had fervently stated that all I wanted was my money and nothing else would do. The person who called, [redacted], stated that they could not give me my money back and tried to tell me that if I gave them one more chance, they could fix it for sure this time. I told him I didn' want them touching my computer again. When he called back several hours later, he was able to provide an address in New York, not New Jersey, and instructions on how to access their web page which I explained should have been done before. I am totally unhappy with their service! However, I have the address to Netpay Int'l who collects money for them and according to their rules and regulations (5.1.1 & 8.1), under Section 5, NETPAY INTERNATIONAL'S OBLIGATION TO THE CUSTOMER, the customer is entitled to cancel their order and be reimbursed even after paying for the product or service within 30 days. I am sending letters to Netpay's headquarters office and their fraud office in Ramat Gan, Israel. My service was provided a week ago so I am well within my "30 days"Desired Settlement: Credit my account with the $199.99 they withdrew.

Review: Service did not resolve my problem and they agreed to refund part of my $99.00 charge (half $50) Each time I have spoken to them about the refund to my credit card, they tell me it takes 5 days, they even once gave me a conformation #. This started on July [redacted] and still no refund. I have spoken to [redacted], and [redacted] all at different times since July *. Each time they tell me they will send me an email with status which I have never recieved.Desired Settlement: I would like to recieve my $50 refund as promised.

Review: I began the connection on 7/**/13 with EasyPC by searching on the internet for help with my re-installing a printer on my computer. When I arrived at this site, I opened a chat window and a technician named [redacted] immediately began chatting with me. She decided to call me on my phone. She convinced me to let her have control of my computer and she began showing all the bad viruses that had infected it. She said several times that not just anyone can fix this problem (not Best Buy, Geek Squad, etc.). She said a technician standing by could fix it, and since we have a WiFi network, all the computers and smartphones connected to the network needed to be checked because the viruses would have infected those too. We have 4 computers, 1 smartphone and an iphone that use the same wifi. For all those and a 3 year agreement she quoted $750. She wanted the money right away, and we were dumb enough to send it. She further said the charge was going internationally(!) and had to be broken down into 2 payments so we sent one $400 and one $350 amount with my wife’s credit card. She gave us misleading information, i.e., "24/7 tech support" which we found out when we called in the evening, means a person takes a message and someone returns the call the next day if it is after hours, or next working day if weekend. Not my understanding of 24/7 support. There was a bad virus that existed on two of our computers. They said that they wanted only Microsoft Security Essentials which is free running on our computers as virus protection. They made an exception on my Windows 8 computer and left Bitdefender running on that computer. Although they said my Windows 8 computer was fixed I was not convinced. My computer was still having problems recognizing USB devices when they stopped working. The recognition of USB devices was the original problem that caused me to look for help. My son has a friend who is a Marine and installs computer networks for the Marines. He said that easypc ‘s claims a virus can jump from one computer to another on a network with only a router are not true. I confronted [redacted] with this information and her response was a not very credible “we can prove it”. I asked them several times for the precise name of the virus and they never gave it to us. I believe that we were deliberately misled on the 24/7 support issue and the ability of the virus to move around a network without a file like an email attachment being used. I believe this was a scare tactic. Apparently all the technicians use false American sounding names even though when you talk to them on the found they are obviously not Americans who have lived here long. On 8/*/2013 we asked [redacted] for a refund after telling her all this information and she refused saying we already had a contract and they had installed all this stuff on our computers that they would then support and for free, transfer to any new computer we got for the next 3 years. I have no faith in their word and that these people will still be around for 3 years. I did ask where the money was going, and she finally told me the money from the credit card was going to the UK, but she did not give me further information. I should have stopped right there, but in the throws of such overpowering disaster she was describing for our computer and network, my wife and I both got caught up. This is a terrible thing for someone to do to we unsuspecting consumers.Desired Settlement: A full refund or a reduction in cost to one year of service.
