Eaton Automotive Reviews (6)

I took my car in to Eaton automotive and found this to be my new place for all my car care needs.Donavan was very respectful and courteous. They were able to fix my car quickly and the work done on my car was very clean. I highly recommend them to anyone!

I went to Camelback [redacted] dealership for an oil change, tune up and to check why my [redacted] Hybrid was not going into electric mode (making my gas mileage 24mpg instead of 32mpg). They told me that my high voltage battery in the back had fans which were malfunctioning. The cost for that was about $1200. They never changed my oil or gave me the tune up because they said they didn't know if I wanted to fix the more expensive problem first. They also had my car for two days because they could not get it to start again which forced me to rent a car.

Fed up with the dealer, I posted my issue on [redacted]. A friend told me about Eaton Automotive. I called them to see how much it would cost to fix the battery fans. They quoted me about $500 over the phone. I went there to get the fans fixed. They could not do it right away because they required special equipment since they were dealing with a 300 volt battery and more manual labor to lift the battery out. At their expense, they went out and purchased what they needed and were about to reschedule a time to fix my issue at a later date that was convenient for me.

When I came back to Eaton Automotive, they repaired it quickly. I ended up paying less than half what the dealership quoted me and experienced absolutely no hassle or delays. Now, I get about 32mpg again. I wish I could have saved myself a lot of stress and frustration form the dealership and visited Eaton Automotive a lot sooner.

[redacted] Eaton has been repairing & servicing my car for many years & I have never had any problems. He is very professional, thorough Mechanic with very fair prices. I actually take my vehicle to dealership 1st then get that inspection report, take it to [redacted] for him to inspect what repairs the dealership claims, needs done. Over the years he has saved me thousands of dollars after proving that my vehicle did not need many of those unnecessary repairs the dealership was claiming it did. I would & do definitely refer anyone to him, knowing he will do a good thorough job.

I took my car in for a 2nd opinion on some issues found at the dealership. My care was given a thorough inspection and I was quoted a fair price to get the work done. I plan on taking my car here rather than the dealership I have been visiting.

Some Auto Mechanics have a sad habit of taking advantage of the elderly when they bring in car for repair/service. This is why I have [redacted] work on my [redacted]. I had a couple of bad experiences at dealership trying to get me to pay for work that was not needed. My son in law took over & started taking my car to Eaton Automotive. [redacted] is very thorough, honest, dependable & very fair in his prices. I am grateful & will continue referring customers/family & friends to his shop. Thank you [redacted]!

My husband and I brought our 2006 [redacted] to [redacted] under the impression his work would be on par with the business he took over from [redacted]; whom we have used (and only had exceptional service from) in the past. That was hardly the case when we brought our vehicle in on 12/12/13. We were having an issue with the suspension/front air bag. I spoke with [redacted] and explained the issue we were having prior to taking our truck in. He was busy, which is perfectly fine, stated he didn't believe he would have an issue repairing, and we scheduled a day to bring my truck in, etc. Dropped my truck off on a Monday. He called later that day and said the vehicle was performing normally and wanted to keep it overnight for observation. I agreed, and appreciated that I thought he was being thorough. Next day comes, he calls, states it is a solenoid that needed to be repaired. Calls later that afternoon and says it is fixed however he does not have the equipment to calibrate correctly. (Why would you agree to take a vehicle on if you know that you don't have the proper tools to fix all of the issues?!). I was leaving to go out of town that Wednesday as well, so we all decided it would be best if the vehicle stayed at his place of business until Saturday morning. Jump to Saturday - pick up truck - within a minute of driving off the lot the "check suspension" light comes back on. We drive it back to the lot and drop it back off. It was also then that [redacted] stated we were responsible for paying taxes on top of our deductible. Different than we had heard in the past, but perfectly understandable. He had quoted me $30 - the paperwork for the work that was yet to be completed stated only $11 in taxes. When I called to get a status mid/late afternoon on Saturday I questioned the discrepancy in the dollar amount. He had no logical reason as to why the amount was different and further had no update on our truck. Come Monday a representative from Eaton Automotive calls us to say they are now recommending our ENTIRE suspension be repaired. Our extended warranty would not cover this and also believed it to be a complete sham. The extended warranty company ordered an investigator to go to the shop to provide their own diagnostics. It was at the time they told me it would cost over $2200 that I exclaimed "this is BS". Once my warranty company wanted their own tests run and I used the fowl language of "BS" they stated they no longer wanted to work on our vehicle. Fast forward a few weeks - we bring it to the extended warranties preferred mechanic because we were STILL having the same issues with the suspension. Just brought our truck home where they replaced the air spring/tube and ride height sensor. Clearly our deductible was wasted at this location. I would have felt better had [redacted] been up front from the beginning that he was not capable of working on our vehicle. A complete waste of money and time. I would like to have Eaton Automotive give us our deductible back so I can buy lunch for the mechanics' that took their time in figuring out what was wrong and getting it done properly.
