Eaton Motor Sales Reviews (1)

Review: Went to Eaton Motors on the morning of 11/08/2013 to talk to them about an issue I have been having with the ABS and Brake light on with the speedometer gauge not being accurate. I started to tell them that I had the vehicle to another shop, they ( [redacted] Eaton and the Mechanic [redacted]) proceeded to harass me about not bring the vehicle straight to them. [redacted] said it sounded as if I did not want the vehicle, I said to him I like and want to keep the vehicle. Then [redacted] and [redacted] both started about not bringing the vehicle back to them. [redacted] could not work on the vehicle for 2 weeks as he is going on vacation and had other work to do in the shop and would no even look at the vehicle. The vehicle since I purchased back in late February or this year 2013 had an 08/2012 inspection sticker and when I asked about getting the vehicle re-inspected, [redacted] said it was good and did not need it. When inspection was needed in 08/2013, it was turned down for an exhaust system that was complete rusted and tires cost of 850.00 for repairs. Then when the ABS brake light came on, The mechanic that I am using checked everything and both ball joints had to be replaced , rotor, calibers, brake pads front and rear. I did have the truck to Eaton Motors when I first bought it for the check engine light being on all the time. The mechanic turned it of and said it need a gas cap, check engine light still comes. Also the 4wheel drive control unit whet out with in the first 2 months, they did replace and charged me for the replacement.Desired Settlement: Reimburse me for the billed repair from my mechanic

Dear **. [redacted],

This letter is in reply to your letters of 11-25-13 and 12-4-13 concerning complaint ID [redacted].

To begin, **. [redacted] purchased this vehicle as-is. He signed the buyer's guide stating that this vehicle was as-is when he purchased the vehicle and was given a copy of the buyer's guide along with the rest of the paperwork.

When **. [redacted] came into our shop on 11-8-13 and told us about these repairs I did ask him why he did not bring it to us first rather than taking it to another shop, We do not require our customers to bring their vehicles to us for repairs as it is their choice as to who they have work on their vehicles. However, we always work with our customers to get them a reasonable price and in this case, had **. [redacted] brought the vehicle to us, we could have saved him a significant amount of money. Instead, **. [redacted] chose to take his vehicle elsewhere for repairs and it is not up to us to pay those bills for him.

As for **. [redacted]'s complaint about our mechanic not being able to look at his vehicle when he came in, that is correct. Our mechanic was going on vacation during that time and the time that he did have before he left was already booked up. We have over one hundred vehicles on our lot to keep up with and many customers that bring their cars to us for repairs.

Sometimes scheduling cannot be helped and we cannot always look at a customers vehicle as soon as they would like.

If **. [redacted] is not satisfied with this vehicle and would like to trade it in for something else all he has to do is bring his account up to date and we would be more than willing to work with him.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

As for [redacted] Eaton's response, When I had taken the vehicle to them for repairs as in my statement ( check engine light ) all was done is said the gas cap needed replaced. That was not the problem with the vehicle. When I took the vehicle to an ASE CERTIFED MECHANIC , he was able to determine the problem right away and fix it rather than telling me " you can drive the vehicle with the check engine light, brake light and ABS light on, it does not hurt anything to do that".They could not have saved me money on the repairs.

It is not a point of [redacted] Eaton saying that I can trade the vehicle in on another one where I would have to come up with a substantial deposit. They, both [redacted] Eaton and there Mechanic [redacted] have acted very unprofessional as to there response to me and the way I was treated when I came in just to sit down and talk to them about the vehicle.

Quote from my original response " I started to tell them that I had the vehicle to another shop, they ( [redacted] Eaton and the Mechanic [redacted]) proceeded to harass me about not bring the vehicle straight to them. [redacted] said it sounded as if I did not want the vehicle, I said to him I like and want to keep the vehicle. Then [redacted] and [redacted] both started about not bringing the vehicle back to them. "

[redacted] Eaton's response did not did not have anything said about the action and how they treated me as a customer.

Regards,
