I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below The tires were installedOnly two of the tires were defective amounting to the sum I mentionedI contacted Eaver's and the person I spoke with said the manager would contact me and offer a resolutionHe offered vouchers for service which we did not at that time need [redacted] at least gave a partial refund, Eavers did nothingI wrote enclosing copies from the [redacted] mechanic of the receipts for the work replacing tires that Eavers had installed less than a year earlierI am sick of watching Eavers commercials advertising that they will keep you safe when the tires they installed less than a year previously lacked sufficient tread to prevent us from aquaplaning on an interstateI suspect if they used a company in order to ensure safe travel and experienced a dangerous defect then watched the company constantly advertising that they would keep you safe, they might feel as I do Regards, [redacted] ***

Please find my response belowThank you! *** ** *** ***Director of Operations Dear Valued Customer,I apologize for any misunderstandingOn the date of service, your Honda Accord was dropped off for an oil changeThe ticket was pre-paid with specific instructions to not
top-off any fluidsThe reasoning was that any fluids could possibly incur an additional costThe only fluids for which we charge extra are gear oil, transmission fluid, and coolant (if more than 1/is needed)For that reason, your coolant and radiator were not inspected. The process of changing the oil in a Honda Accord does not require leaning over the front of the carIn fact, leaning over the grill area of the car would require positioning the technician's body in a very awkward positionYour Accord still has the original radiator, which is a long life for a car of that age with over 260,milesIt is very common for Accords from that era to crack on the top plastic tank.Eavers Tire Pros has been in business since No shop is perfect, and when we believe there is a likelihood or a chance that we are responsible for repairs to a customer's vehicle, we do those repairs or compensate the customerThis is absolutely not one of those instancesThis car has been to our shop only once before within the last months, for an oil changeThe mileage between those two visits is over 7,milesSince it was specifically requested that we not check or top off any fluids, we have no way of knowing for sure when this issue happenWe do have full confidence, however, that the cracking is a occurrence in vehicles of this age and that regular maintenance procedures did not cause the crack. We appreciate the business that you gave to us, and your time in reading this responseWe are proud of the work that we perform on over vehicles per day between our locations in Stuarts Draft and Fishersville.Thank you,*** *** ***Director of Operations

In response to the complaint by [redacted]:The complaint arises from a service performed nearly 2 years ago, with an alleged necessary repair that occurred nearly 16 months ago. New tires were purchased and installed on a 1995 Buick LeSabre. The tires formerly on the LeSabre were then...

installed onto a 1993 Dodge Caravan, at the customer's request. Tread wear on the outer edges generally results from two causes. The first, and most likely, cause is misaligned suspension. The way to remedy this is with an alignment, which adjusts the toe and camber of the wheels. The second possible cause of excessive wear to the outer edges of a tire is under-inflation. Every tire that leaves this facility is gauged to the manufacturer recommended specifications for that vehicle. To our knowledge, [redacted] does not refund a customer directly. Refunds are processed through authorized [redacted] dealers to be issued as credits to end-users. If there was a mechanical issue with alignment, that did not occur during installation. If a tire is improperly installed, the wheel will fall off very shortly after installation. Further, [redacted] would not issue a credit because of improper installation, they would not pay for a mistake that another company made. Finally, the total charge for the tires installed on 12/19/2013 was $553.56 for four [redacted] Defender tires. The person filing the complaint stated that four tires cost $276.78.The timing, conflicting claims, and lack of additional information raise serious questions concerning the validity of this complaint. Eavers Tire Pros has not received any complains from this customer over the last 16 months since this incident allegedly occurred. We professionally install hundreds of tires every week and this is the first time we have such a complaint made to the Revdex.com. It is our belief this is an erroneous complaint. If there was extreme wear that required replacement, it was likely due to a suspension out of alignment on the vehicle. We do perform that service here, but we were not asked by the customer (nearly 2 years ago) to perform an alignment. Neither vehicle serviced that day has records of being serviced at this location before or after 12/19/2013.Sincerely,[redacted]General Manager

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The tires were installed. Only two of the tires were defective amounting to the sum I mentioned. I contacted Eaver's and the person I spoke with said the manager would contact me and offer a resolution. He offered vouchers for service which we did not at that time need. [redacted] at least gave a partial refund, Eavers did nothing. I wrote enclosing copies from the [redacted] mechanic of the receipts for the work replacing tires that Eavers had installed less than a year earlier. I am sick of watching Eavers commercials advertising that they will keep you safe when the tires they installed less than a year previously lacked sufficient tread to prevent us from aquaplaning on an interstate. I suspect if they used a company in order to ensure safe travel and experienced a dangerous defect then watched the company constantly advertising that they would keep you safe, they might feel as I do.
Regards,
[redacted]
