Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
My husband was a party to the original telephone call that transpired in December, 2014. I asked repeatedly if this was Windstream and the person I spoke with said they were. I had never spoken to a Windstream tech with an Indian accent before, and after a while he admitted that they were subcontractors to Windstream. The phone number I called was obtained over the internet as "Windstream Tech Support".Secondly, the date the contract was signed and effective was 12/**/14, not 12/**/14. Thirdly, we ere to receive a 50% refund in February, which did not happen. Fourth, last month I received a call from someone identifying himself from eBiz Connects that wanted access to my computer to take off whatever they put there the year before. He had enough information regarding our situation in December I believed that he was representing the company (he knew the date of service, what had been done). There was no way I was letting anyone access my computer hard drive (I might as well have been giving out my bank account number and social security number!). He told me that in order to process my refund they needed access to the computer. In reviewing our credit card statements from that time period we never received the refund and I realize now that we probably never will. I do not believe the business's response resolves my complaint because it doesn't appear that we will ever receive a refund. Additionally, the date they provided for date of service was incorrect. My husband was on the call to verify the original person told me that they were with Windstream, however, I was alone when the call came in last month asking for access. Again, this caller knew enough of the details of the original problem that I believed he was with eBiz
In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above
Sincerely,

[redacted]This is to bring into your kind notice that Ebiz Connect is a third party independent company, the same was clearly told to you over the phone. Reading the message you have left and investigating the same with the quality people here, we realise that you agreed to the terms and...

conditions of the service at the first point of contact and gave us complete authorisation to go ahead and fix the computer problems. It was not just a scan which kept running on your device and was rather a security which was getting installed for your protection. We request you to please either email us or call us on our tollfree in our working hours and business days. We will be more than happy to help you in clearing the problems you are facing.  RegardsEbiz Connects

[redacted]This is Samuel R[redacted] from Relationship Department of eBiz Connects. I apologize on behalf of the company for all the inconvenience you faced in the past.I'll clarify all your doubts here in this response.Firstly, We always inform customers that we are third party independent company who provide...

support to the customers with problems in their computers or network. We never say that we are Windstream/Charter etc.The customer's call gets routed to us from various companies.Secondly, We never make any such call to any of our customers asking to give the remote session or to remove any software from his/her computer and rather we always ask the customers to call us if incase, they face any problem in our working hours and days. So, I am sure, it must be some spam call you received asking for such thing. Also, I went through your contract/agreement with us and saw that it was good till December **, 2015.

Review: I searched for a support number for [redacted] so I could tell them a DVD hadn't arrived and ###-###-#### came up as the number for [redacted], where I get my internet, so I called the number since my internet company had been helpful before. The person who answered the phone required lots of information from me, including my date of birth. I thought they were my company, and they said they were my company, so I gave the information. They said my computer had been hacked into multiple times. They connected into my computer and pressured me into putting a check onto my scanner. The scanner immediately started without me hitting the button. They also wanted me to express mail the check to them, but I will not. They are not the support company for my internet company. I did not intend to call them and did not want any service from them.Desired Settlement: Do not process that check. Stop false advertising.

This is a scam. Ebiz told me my computer had been hacked. They told me to write them a check for $249.99 and that would cover me for 1 year of service. They also told me that check was the only form of payment method they would accept because my computer had been compromised. They wanted me to scan them the check and then send them a physical copy by mail. I told them I didn't feel comfortable with the conversation I was having with the rep due to him just being rude and pressuring me to write the check immediately and asking me to scan him a copy. I told him I was going to take the computer to the [redacted]. The rep said if I shut the computer down that it would be very hard for him to help me clean the computer because he would lose some of the hackers information. This didn't sound or feel right. So I hung up the phone powered down the computer and took it to [redacted]. The service rep at [redacted] said my computer was fine, it had not been hacked, there were no viruses and that it was a good thing I didn't pay Ebiz. The [redacted] rep said at least a couple of times a week someone comes in with a similar story. This company is scamming people out of their money. Beware of this company it is one big scam.

Review: My wife was having problems with her cell phone not being able to recognize/use the wifi signal from our home router. She was on the phone with our internet provider when she was somehow transferred to EBiz connects LLC. They convinced her that our computer had been hacked and someone was stealing our data. They stated she needed to buy their service, at $399, to correct the problem. She did, followed their instructions, and at the end of the day her phone still wasn't able to hook up to the wifi (turns out it is a router compatibility issue). We had no other computer issues, and her problem was not fixed. I called and asked for a refund, they said call back the next day. I called the next day, they said we will call you back in an hour. They never did. This sounds a lot like the company [redacted], the one with 13 complaints and a Revdex.com rating of F, with their known alternate business names[redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund to credit card

Review: My daughter's computer was hacked into Feb [redacted] 2015, we contact google and they referred us to this company to secure my daughters computer. The service was horrible, the technicians were calling in the middle of the night and were rude. When they called for a customer satisfaction survey I told them how displeased I was with the service, on 3/**/15 I received an email stating they were canceling my contract and refunding my $250.00. I have called several times about this because as of today I have not received my money back. I am told that it was released to my bank and to give it several days, its been 23 days and I have called 5 times and get a different answer everytime.Desired Settlement: I would like my $250.00 refunded to me.

Refund was delayed due to an internal processing error, which we have now resolved by contacting the customer, and mailing a New Refund Check for the full amount of $250.00 on 4/**/15. Offered a Service Discount for new orders. EBIZ Escalations Team

Review: Exactly a year ago my computer completely shut down. I contacted my local internet provider (using a telephone number I obtained on the internet) and was connected to eBiz Connects. I asked several times if they were Windstream and they told me they were. They performed a diagnostic on my computer and told me there were at least a dozen people/potential hackers using my IP address and the only way to clear it up was to purchase their services at $499.00. I asked if this charge could just be put on my bill and that is when I learned that they were a third party. They scared me so much about the hacking potential I forked over my husband's credit card number and had them "fix" my computer. It worked for about a day then went "black" again. I called my internet provider, this time using their local number, only to find that they have no affiliation with eBiz Connects LLC; they don't refer people to them, they don't recommend them to anyone. I contacted a reputable computer tech and he fixed the problem. I called eBiz Connects, requesting a partial refund of the money that we paid and was told that they would issue a refund in 3 days. That never happened. Today (a year later) I received a phone call from eBiz Connects requesting that I give them access to my computer so that they could take off the program they placed on my computer since the year is up, and issue me my credit. I told them they could just contact the credit card company to issue the credit, and I wasn't crazy enough to let some Joe who called me on the phone randomly to gain access to my computer. Before I completely frustrated the man and caused him to hang up on me, I got his phone number (which is a California number). I called it back and spoke with Peter, the manager, who again told me that I had to give them access to my computer in order to get my refund. I have never heard of such a thing and it just sounds like a scam to me.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of what was paid to this company and want a complete and written explanation as to why they have to gain access to my computer in order to issue a refund for services that were not rendered.
