Echelon Ford Reviews (2)

Review: Purchased my 1st truck 10 years ago from Echelon Ford.Went back to purchase my next truck. They did not have what I wanted on the lot.Placed an order. Before placing an order asked if they could get one from another dealer for me.I was told it would cost $600 to do that. They wanted a deposit for the order which I was told if I cancelled the order they have "NEVER KEPT ANY DEPOSIT".My wife found a local dealer who had exact truck I wanted. So I cancelled my factory order.I went back to see about my deposit and the manger and sales person refused to refund it.Called for and logged a complaint with the dealership. And they informed the truck was in transit. That was the end of June.I made a second attempt to ask for my money. And the manager and sales person said no they did not want this truck in their inventory and they would not return my money.I will never go back there to purchase another vehicle.

Update: drove through the dealership and the truck is parked in the back lot.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded my $500 because I do not see why they need to keep it.They lost nothing but a repeat customer.

Response:

To whom it may concern,[redacted] agreed to order the vehicle on May 13th, 2013. At that time he signed a buyers order and gave us a $500 deposit. The buyers order clearly states the deposit is non-refundable. At no time was [redacted] told he would be refunded his deposit if he canceled the order. There was no discussion ever about cancelling the order until he called weeks later and said he had bought another truck elsewhere. I explained to him that his truck had already been built and was in transit to the dealership and that his order could not be cancelled. If you need any further assistance with this matter please contact me at [redacted]Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because: I understand that I signed a contract that my deposit was non-refundable. But YES I was told by my sales guy that the dealership "HAS NEVER KEPT ANYONES DEPOSIT". And so I feel my money should be returned. Of course the dealership is going to say they never said such a thing. And I did buy a new truck from a dealership that gave me $1,200.00 in additional incentives above what Echelon Ford offered. So since they will not give me back my money I am still ahead of the game. As I asked them "could you get me truck somewhere else" and they said for $600.00 more. I don't want to name the other dealership but I got $1,200 in additional incentives, no deposit and did not charge to find me a vehicle $600. They were a dealership that takes care of their customer. I will never go back to Echelon Ford or recommend them to my friends and family.

Review: Before deciding whether I even needed or wanted to get the [redacted] replaced due to a recall that was never completed, I SPECIFICALLY asked Echelon Ford, a few times, in fact, if messing around with the transmission could cause it to have problems since it currently did not have any issues. I wanted to be one hundred percent sure that them replacing the [redacted] could not damage some other part of the transmission. They all assured me that it would NOT cause it ANY damage. I asked them, in their opinion, should I even bother having it replaced since it worked perfectly fine. They told me that it could give out at any time and could be a safety issue, so they recommended I get it replaced. They also assured me that if it had any problems after they installed it, then [redacted] would be responsible for fixing it. I dropped it off early on a Friday morning. Was expecting to get it back 8 hours later. I did not get it back till Tuesday evening. They kept telling me they were having complications. As soon as I pulled out of their parking lot, I noticed the alignment was off BADLY and it was PERFECT when I took it in. A couple of days later, the transmission started slipping, the RPMs were very high when accelerating, and on a few occassions, it would not go into reverse. My husband took it in, and he and a mechanic took it for a test drive. The mechanic pulled out the dipstick and told my husband there was no transmission fluid in it even reading on the dipstick, so he put some in. So, they were NEGLIGENT when working on my transmission by not replacing the fluid when they did the job. The vehicle continued to have the same issues, so I finally went in and spoke with the supervisor, [redacted] He denied all liability and tried assuring me that they did not touch anything in the transmission when they replaced the [redacted] Their negligence has screwed up my vehicle!Desired Settlement: I want them to fix the transmission issues that THEY caused, but they flat out refuse. Why should I pay for their negligence? I just bought the vehicle a few months ago for $4,000 in PERFECT condition! My van is getting worse every day from driving it like this. I will involve the media, picket their business with friends, post warnings about them DAILY on [redacted] and take any other means necessary UNTIL they fix the problems THEY caused.

To Whom it May Concern:

Customer brought in vehicle to Echelon Ford on April 25, 2014, with 131,208 miles for two [redacted] safety recalls. The [redacted] recall for rear seat latches and [redacted] recall for replacement of [redacted] Repairs were completed by April 29, 2014 and her vehicle was picked up on that date. One week later, Mrs. [redacted] contacted our dealership and informed me that the check engine light had come on . She felt the engine was not running properly. I informed her that repairing the recall issues, had no correlation with the repairs that were performed. In the interest of complete customer satisfaction, I told her I would diagnose engine light concern, at no charge to her. She also Stated that the front wheel alignment, may have been changed. I told her that we Would look at that' concern, as well, at no charge. Mrs. [redacted] was told to bring her car in right away, within the next day. She said she would, but did not bring her vehicle in until a week later. We found that the alignment was off and the diagnosed engine light revealed a defective [redacted] To satisfy Mrs. [redacted] We would do the alignment and perform 21 engine light diagnosis, all at no charge. I also explained to her that we would replace the [redacted] at dealer cost, approximately $300.00, Mrs [redacted] agreed to it all. She also stated, her transmission shifted harshly. So we checked her transmission concern and topped up the fluid, with one quart. This transmission holds approximately 12 quarts of fluid. So the one quart short, could possibly be due to the system burping and level dropping. Mrs. [redacted] made an appointment, but did not come in. Shortly after, we receive a letter from her Attorney, Mr. [redacted] We addressed the letter immediately and gave her Attorney the facts. Mr. [redacted] agreed that we did do the right thing in addressing Mrs. [redacted]'s concerns. Mr. [redacted] said he would advise his client to bring in her Vehicle. Mrs. [redacted] never brought in her Vehicle, instead the vehicle was driven to [redacted]. Since the recall; there is approximately 4,160 additional miles to the vehicle. Against her Attorneys advice, Mrs. [redacted] has contacted the Revdex.com. Since then, the vehicle has been back to the dealership, on July 2, 2014. The Alignment has been reset, as well as repairs to the intake control, at no charge, to satisfy the customer. Service Manager, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Two days after picking my car up from them AGAIN, the check engine light came on AGAIN! It also would not go into reverse at [redacted] and since I was parked along the trees, I had to have 3 guys push my car backward while in neutral. The transmission still slips, RPMs run too hign and frequently doesnt go into reverse. They told me the [redacted] was under warranty and that they would be putting on in on July 2nd, but they didnt. Instead, the claimed to have fixed the problem with the check engine light, but they clearly didnt because its back on. I WANT THE [redacted] REPLACED! They messed it up and I want it fixed!
