May 26/2016 Had a Rep from ECHS who put on a very good sales pitch Re savings on home heating. During the course of our discussions I asked him if the cancellation phone Number was an Alberta number, to which he answered " its Canada wide", Therefore LONG distance bu,t pointed out the Toll Free no. on the agreement. I STUPIDLY accepted and signed an agreement contract. After he left I checked out their company thru the Revdex.com and deemed them NOT TO BE A REPUTABLE COMPANY as the Ph. No. he gave turned out to be a long distance call and the TOLL FREE NO. was NOT ANSWERED. At 3:49 pm DST in Alberta I contacted the Agent (Stefan X-XXX-XXX-XXXX via phone and asked him to cancel my agreement as his company did NOT seem to be as upstanding as he had projected.

I had a person from ecoenergy come to my door by the name of Sarah G.. She came in started telling me that my airconditioner was old and could rent one from ecoenergy and it would save me money on my gas bill. She also said that I would get a rebate for $250.00 when they came to install it that she would be there with the cheque. They were to come on Monday Dec 14 between 10-12 am. Well no one came even though she said they did but I got off work at 8am and waited for them. So another day was set up well the technition came but she didn't show with my rebate. Contacted her and she just kept lying to me saying I should get it soon. Contacted company [redacted] said they would mail cheque right away its now going into July still havent got it. They called and said they were sending a technition to check aircon to make sure it has enough freeon nobody ever showed up. [redacted]

ECO ENERGY HOME SERVICES

Representative: David R.
Visit to my home: Dec 12, 2015
Promised Installation: Dec 15, 2015

After the home visit with David R., I was expecting thing to go smoothly, I booked the day off work on the 15th so that I would be available for the installers, I was at home all day, and by mid afternoon I had to call to find out where the installers were, spoke with Shawn, who informed me they were waiting for parts and would not make it to my home until Dec 17th. I had been in contact with a local propane company who was going to install the propane tank and I was able to schedule them to be at my home on Dec 17th to put in the tank, so that it could be connected to the new furnace. I took another day off work and waited until 11:30 before the installers showed up finally. They took my old oil furnace out, which I had been told from David R. was 35yrs old NOT. The manufacture tag on the old furnace was 1993. The installers sat my old furnace outside on my lawn, and informed me that they would not be able to get rid of it as they did not have room it their van for a furnace that size. A few days later after not hearing back from them, I had to arrange it myself to get it taken away.
On the day of the installation I had the propane company come in and install the tank so that it could get connected and tested. The installers were able to get the new furnace in that day, but never completed the job until 5:30pm, which by that time the propane company was gone and the tank could not be connected. The installers packed up their tools and left after they reviewed the installation with me and left a programmable thermostat for me to hook up myself. I called the propane company and, as this is typically a busy time of year for them, they told me they could not make it back until Dec. 24th to hook up the tank. Being as I live in central Ontario, we had a few cold nights while we waited. Dec 24th came and I had the day off work for the holidays, he connected the tank, and proceeded to complete an inspection on the furnace, before the propane could be turned on. The inspection failed, the installers has not grounded the propane line from the furnace, so the propane company would not turn on the propane.

I started by trying to contact the sales rep. David R., which when I called his cell phone it was no longer in service. Next I called the 24hr service line, but did not get an answer, an automated message said stay on the line, and an hour later I had to hang up. I tried a couple more times later in the day, and finally talked with a lady in the office, I told her what needed to be done so that I could turn on the heat, and I also asked her to have David R. give me a call. So regardless to say went through the Christmas holidays with no heat. Finally on Dec. 28th one of the installers did show up and was able to connect the ground wire that they had neglected to hook up. I was notified by my wife who happened to be home that they were there so I left work to go and talk with them. By the time I got there he was finishing up, I asked him if he could start up the furnace to test it to make sure it was OK. He stated to me that this was the propane company's job and he left. I contacted the propane company and told them the propane line was finally grounded, they said it would be safe now to turn on the furnace, so I turned it on myself. In all it took 11 days from the time my old furnace was removed until we
finally had heat. The was a major inconvience for my family especially over the holidays and dealing with minus 10 to minus 15 degrees at night, we had to resort to other means of heat to keep our home from freezing.
This sales rep (David R.), did nothing but lie to us from the time he came into our home. He lied about the year of our current furnace, about the perfomance of how well it would heat area's of our home that we not getting sufficient heat flow from our current furnace. He told us that with the air flow from this new furnace there would be no problems have consistant heat through our whole house. This is not the case, the areas that were cold, are still cold.
When we talked to him about service he told us that they had one of the best service departments in the industry and that if I did need service it would be the same day or by the next day at the latest. From what we experienced during the installation on how good the service is, I have already lost faith in another false claim by ECO Energy.
He also told us that the furnace comes with a $400 programmable thermostate. After looking at the thermostat the technision left with I did not get it installed as y current one was a much higher quality. The one that was left was only worth about $40. Anther false claim by the sales rep.

Our experience with the ECO Energy sales rep. Was one of nothing but [redacted], He only had one interest and that was to make
