We hired Company to do our spray foam insulation in attic. We were to vacate our house for 24 hours while they did work, due to hazardous chemicals. They completed only a portion of the job. They told us they had about 2 hours of work left. When my husband went up into the attic. We seen less then half the roof was done. They came back day 2. Again we had to vacate the premises. They were here for hours while they tried to get equipment working. They left to go back to shop to fix equipment hoses and didn't return that day. So now we go to day 3 of work. They accomplished a about 4? by 2? area after stating they had purchased a 'new foam gun'...Equipment failure again. Our stresses continued as the only way to have good quality product is by proper mixing and placing of product, which is hard to accomplish with broken equipment. Hence day 4, when one employee came to cut out areas where hazardous resin was left. It was at this point, I told the employee, how this was day 4 of a one day job, and how this job needed to be completed and if they had broken equipment, they need not come back till it was fixed as to not waste our time. 3 days of staying out of the house for 24 hours. Luckily we had a place to stay and not rent hotel. Not to mention my husband having to take time off work every day they were working to have someone present at residence. The employee agreed with what I said and assured me the equipment would be fixed And/or leave to not waste a day we could just stay at home. Fast forward. Owner of business calls my husband and accuses us/me of insulting comments*** I called owner to discuss and he refused to speak to me and said he would only talk to my husband. ***
It is at this point, we made the decision that we do not want this company back in our family home!

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment We will not be paying for Incomplete work and Improper installation. We are hiring another company to complete the work properly. They have stated, will not be able to warranty their work, due to the existing foam that has been supplied, is installed improperly with faulty equipment. In lieu of this, We will not be seeking compensation for removal of improperly installed foam, 4 days of missed work, vacating house for 3 24hr periods. Or removal of toxic chemicals left in puddles.

"Hi Chris,

This email is to inform you of the incident that occurred at your residence when Cordell *** showed up to clean up the scope of work remaining from Thursday, November 14th, 2019.

I have been waiting for your phone call since Saturday, November 16th, 2019. Unfortunately nothing until today.

Good News: We received the new XP3 Gun. You get free foam.

Bad News: We are not returning to your residence based on these reasons.

To sum up the story and move on from this situation, Cordell and Scott have both refused to come back and complete the remaining work. As an employer I have to respect their views and comments and my priority is their work environment is safe from anyone or anything. They have a right to say "no" which I have to accept and respect.

Cordell mentioned a few comments which was passed on from your spouse "Dawn" to him. ***

Unfortunately in our company we have a zero tolerance policy ***

Summary:

Your residence is deemed not safe for my employee's to return and commence the remaining work in the environment that was presented on Saturday. As a business owner you can appreciate your employee's safety is first and foremost.
I know that you have contacted other spray foam contractor's ***

I will not be charging for the foam that has been installed which is good and satisfactory by any standard, and consider it a pro bono (free) gift for your household.
