The response below comes from our project manager *** Paper, who worked with Mr***. We asked *** to respond to this complaint as he is the individual who has had the most interaction with the client. *** has had many customers and has always received great reviews on his
professionalism and representation of ECO Roof and Solar I met *** *** and sold him on Eco like I do every other customer in my portfolioOur mutual friend *** *** introduced me to *** and recommend me. I explained to him that Eco repairs roofs and gutters, but that we have a preferred vendor list which and could help find him qualified labor for his sidingI met with *** *** from Compass Adjustment Services on 5/11/at 7:am for an insurance inspection*** told *** to his face " we are not paying for anything that is not broken" after *** demanded the entire house be sidedHe was concerned about color matching between old and new sidingOver the course of months I must have had this conversation with him different times. *** wrote the estimate and I told *** to begin looking at shingle colors and whether he wanted to install an impact resistant shingle. An underlying theme of this entire situation is *** is a frugal personHe did not want to pay one penny more out of pocket for any items or additionsImpact resistant shingles were thus out of the equation. Everything was satisfactory for about a month until we began discussing siding estimates*** got upset when I told him Eco does not install siding and our workmanship warranty would not be attached to itHe went on a tirade about how he signed on with us because "we do all the work"I sat him down on his dining room table and we reviewed his contractNo work had yet to be performed and I was beginning to get frustrated with his conduct towards meI explained to him there was nothing to be upset about, he could walk away at any timeHe told me he wanted me to follow through for himI told him that was not a problem, but what was a problem was the direction our relationship was going inI was not happy with his aggressive and abrasive approach and when he continued claiming I made statements and promises, I debated cutting him loose completely. At the time, I knew I needed every contract to fulfill my obligations to EcoI've always wanted to present myself as a highly professional and ethical earnerSo I said let’s just put the roof on and move on, you live and learn.I took it upon myself to setup meetings with siding/window companies and find him qualified laborI met with different siding company reps at his property over the course of another monthEvery aspect of this process was painstaking and nothing satisfied ***After these three siding companies turned away from the job and there was more berating me about shingle colors, he chose Barkwood. When material arrived, he would not allow ABC to roof load because he was worried his driveway would be crackedI got a call from the driver himself that *** was being rude and complicating the dropI called *** and explained to him that we pay fees for roof drops and fees for hand loading materialsIf he was going to interfere with our process and we were to be charged additional fees for roof loading materials, those fees would be added to his fileHe was livid. A few days later when we met at his house to begin the job, I went into his living room and we had a conversationI told him I was not going to accept any more abuse and that after I installed the roof, I was closing my contract with himI said " I am not installing your gutters, I'm tired of this situation and tired of these disagreementsI will install your roof to the best of my ability and to the standards of Eco and yourself, you have absolutely nothing to worry about because this is business and I am here to get paid." I'm being totally transp***t with Eco in stating that I didn't sugar coat my message and was rather stern without crossing any professional boundaries. We proceeded to roof his house and company cam accounts for the processWe ended up with the wrong ridge vent and we had to return the following day to install the proper sizeOther than that, the build went seamless with no problems.I had men on his roof, with me includedI walk roofs and check for soft deckingRotten decking gets replaced*** was standing in his driveway with his hands on his hips about 60% of the time we were there and was home about 90%. The following day after we finished, *** called me with his attic concernsI told him that splintering can happen, we have a lot of nails in this decking to start with and even more now with the new roof installedAgain, we had 3-months in between contract signing to roofing, I must have visited him at his home timesI even met *** at my home and we drove around Denver together and looked at shingle colors, designs, etcHe heard what he wanted to hear and fabricated the rest to suit his argument.I explain to every home owner we contract that we work within the scope and additional repairs or upgrades are the home owner's responsiblyThis individual expressed on several occasions he did not want to pay for any additional costsI never asked if he wanted to go the extra mile and replace 4-sheets of decking because he would have looked at me like I am supposed to pay for itNope, that’s not how this worksIn any case, had there been an absolute need to repair any decking I would have made the appropriate call weeks ahead of ordering material and insurance would have supplemented the cost. The following days I was called and texted many times over garbage, nails, dead grass, pretty much anything else you can think of*, My Sales manager at some point during that time got involved with communicating to him because *** was on a war path after I told him "I am not installing you gutters"Other employees at Eco all spoke with *** and I a decision was made to replace his gutters to try and smooth things over and work with integrityEco also provided him gutters guards at no charge. Our office was at odds with him at this point, no one here had anything positive to say and I could now see other staff here agreed with me about his unprofessional attitude*** did what all professionals do at his level and he said let's see this through and send him a gift card as a thank you. After the roof failed inspection Eco began to investigate the reasons and began speaking with the building department to remedy the situation “those emails are attached” We are currently waiting for a letter from the manufacture regarding the shingle installation Once that is received will be sending that information to both the building department as well as Mr***.I have contacted *** Windows and Siding and the inspector on his claim to get any additional info*** *** (formally at ***) remembers talking with *** and choosing to drop his file*** wrote a star review on them so they might be motivated to add a commentTell us why here

ECO roof and Solar entered into an agreement with *** *** on September 8th 2015, at that time her insurace claim was almost a year old and there was only days to to complete all repairs, ECO made contact with her insurance company and they advised us that they had been sending letters and
attempting to contact her for months without a response They were not willing to extent her claim for any other trades other then the roofThis did not give us enough time complete other repairs They also would not accept any supplements or negotiationWe then agreed to complete the roof replacement and window repair only, as that is all time would allow ECO Collected a deposit for the windows via credit card, however Ms*** decided to go with another company as they were less expensive It was agreed to credit that window deposit toward the roof replacement deductible Ms ***'s file was placed into the production kue and the roof was completed in DecemberThere was about inches of snow on the ground and a proper cleanup could not be done until all snow melted This clean up will completed this week and Ms*** is aware and alright with this ECO roof and Solar is also coordinating with our drywall expert to complete the interior crack in her drywall also anticipated to be complete this weekA partial payment has been made to ECO roof and Solar for the work completed and we have advised the client that we would not be requesting final payment until the cleanup and interior repairs were complete

ECO Roof and Solar is actively working with this client to resolve the failed inspection from the building department.  We meet Mr. [redacted] at his property on Thursday December 7th and should have a resolution by the end of this week.

I am rejecting this response because: The statements made above are over exaggerated and false. I never demanded that the entire house get resided, nor is that in my complaint. I didn't spent 60% of the time in my driveway while they were there. I chose a different color than what was stated and the person that dropped off the shingles had no problem with me. We had a very nice exchange and conversation. I even helped him and his son unload the shingles from the truck. Eco was simply mad because they couldn't load it on the roof. [redacted] had been completely unprofessional, rude, and over promised/under delivered throughout the project.Additionally, none of his statement matters as it doesn't address the problem and complaint. The outstanding issue at hand is that the roof was not installed per manufacturer guidelines. This was noted by the Chief Building Inspector and other professionals and is on the correction notice. The GAF website has specific installation guidelines on how to install their Timberline HD shingles and they where not followed. Additionally, Eco has stated that they have contacted their GAF representative to come out. I requested that they contact me to setup a time to meet, but I have not heard from them. I am also concerned that the representative will not look at this neutrally, seeing it is ECO's representative and they give them a lot of business. It's a black and white issue, was the roof installed correctly. It was not and it needs to be corrected. Lastly, the CEO has accused me of fraud and illegal conduct which I have done nothing of the sort. This company is completely unprofessional.
