Ecoline Windows Calgary Reviews (%countItem)

The whole experience was quite easy, Though not the cheapest of my quotes, I quickly realized they knew what they were doing and was worth the extra cost. Constant updates on my orders progress was a nice touch. Install was professional and was extremely happy with the outcome. Though I was not aware that a header was required and would require some taping and mudding..
Great job Ecoline.

Hi Brian. We just want to tell you that we really appreciate your business. Your feedback means a lot to us as we are passionate about providing the best service possible. We are very happy that you've found our work to be satisfactory. Thank you and we appreciate you very much!

From the first phone call to the follow up call today the staff at Eco Line has been efficient, friendly and very easy to work with. We had a few estimates done for 7 window replacements and Eco Line was the most cost effective for what we needed. At no time did we feel pressured or feel like we were just another number. It did take a couple months for the windows to come in which we were told so we expected it however we received calls during that time keeping us up to date with the progress. For installation the crew was friendly, accomodating, quick with their work and did a great job on the installations. If I were to nit pick anything it would've been the clean up afterwards, yes they did clean up, vacuum and sweep however we did find some dust on counter tops and some bits left in the bedroom and en-suite aswell as outside but it was small so again just a nit pick thing. I would for sure recommend Eco Line windows and will use them for future replacements

Dealing with Ecoline was great until the install. The salesmen/project manager and scheduling personnel were all professional, knowledgeable and led me to believe that they were capable of my window renovation. I was told that my windows were on rush and they would be installed in September, project started well over a month later in November. During our measurement we were told we would be able to use all of our blinds, which was incorrect, when the install was finally complete all of the windows were 1" or more bigger than the old ones forcing us to buy new blinds.

Fast forward to install they sent out an install team that where not all physically capable of installing windows leading them to stop work for the day after completing one window and a new team had to come back the next day. Being it was a two day install and they were already down a day, they seemed to be very rushed on the rest of the project leaving many mistakes like:
-Covering right over an electrical outlet with their casing
-Leaving my sub floor completely exposed to the elements under a sliding door
-Stickers left on windows
-Globs of caulking and spray foam left on counter tops/flooring/furniture/carpet
-Paint on the window frames
-Missing interior casing

When the installers came, I told them I have two dogs and asked if they can do their very best to keep the yard cleaned of all debris. They took majority of the big stuff, anything small they left. I spent hours cleaning up tubes of caulking, nails, staples, wood, old window debris and cigarette butts left from their installers. When getting new windows installed by professionals you should not have to take an additional day off work to clean up after them.

When calling customer service to deal with these issues, I averaged 1 to 2 calls a week to get appointments scheduled and items fixed. After I spent $14,000 with Ecoline, they offered me a very insulting $50 rebate for me having to clean up after them. One week before Christmas the customer service representative said "if it makes you feel better the installer was fired." I wanted compensation for doing the installers clean up job, it did not make me feel better knowing this installer lost his job right before Christmas.

The install from start to finish took over 2 months to complete. Not including the 2 day install I have had to book off 3 extra days for them to come back and fix their mistakes. I would not recommend anyone to use Ecoline.

1 year update*
Ecoline has yet to reimburse me for their messy install work, and all the headaches and troubles they put me and my family through. They say they are just a phone call away but the customer service team and management team obviously lie to their customers and make no effort to right their wrongs against customers.

Terrible business. Ordered a replacement window in October. By December 14th it was still not in. 3 weeks in a row the person I spoke to stated "not on our portal so must be shipped" District manger (Eina) would not provide me with her boss's name or number and stated she does not have a boss.I had recommended this company to many neighbours but now deeply regret that

Hello Elisabeth and Degen. Thank you very much for your feedback. First of all, we would like to take a moment and apologize if you have not received an immediate attention to your concerns. Each and every customer is very important to us. You will be receiving a phone call from our scheduling department to set up an appointment for the sealed unit replacement.

Ecoline windows are terrible. They are very drafty. I actually have putty stuck in various places around the windows to stop the draft. You shouldn't have to do that with new windows.

Hello Karen , Thank you very much for your feedback, Ecoline Windows never leaves it's customers and will like to address your concern. We would like to discuss this matter further, could you please contact us at *** when you call in, please ask for Andrew in service department , thank you.

The windows are more than I expected. I have received compliments from all my friends and they have asked what company I bought them from. My answer Remember the brochure delivered in the mail from Ecoline? Right from the salesman to the guy who did the measurements to the installers I couldn't have asked for more professional workers ! I had things explained for each step. What a great experience and what a great company. I have and will continue to recommend Ecoline for window & door replacements

Don't hesitate to give us a call if you have any questions in the future, our service department is always here to help. Keep in mind, we do also offer a referral incentive if you decide to recommend us to friends or neighbours.

This was a nightmare! Over promise and under deliver is what they offer. They promise 6-8 weeks for installation. In reality it took 12 weeks and that only because we called daily.

From measuring windows incorrectly to installing a door that was 5 inches too small and sealing it spray foam and plywood for our safety.

The lack of service and communication was very disappointing. Save yourself the stress and go with someone else.

Ecoline Windows Calgary Response • Sep 11, 2018

Hello Rima , as far as we know all the issues are resolved up to your satisfaction.

Ecoline brought and installed a damaged windows from their warehouse and have then decided to hold back only on one window.
Hi there, we placed an order with Ecoline on May 30th to replace 8 windows for $7,759.00 with $2,000.00 as deposit paid. We were contacted mid July to schedule for an installation date which it was decided then to be July 26th and July 27th. On July 27th, the installer had removed all the windows and installed all 8 windows with two partially completed. When we did the walk through in evening just to check the quality, we noticed a large crack in one of the windows and a tear mesh on another. We then checked with the installer and was informed that these damage were done before they installed it. We then reached out to Ecoline Windows to discuss the next steps. We were informed (By Andrey) that they will still require the full payment ($5,759.00 balance) minus a hold back of $200 for the cracked window and $50 for the torn mesh. We were also informed that they were unable to submit for the energy rebate if the payments were not made in full. The full payment can now only be paid after the $250 fixes are done. We do understand that Ecoline Windows does have a clause on the agreement that requires payments in full for the completed windows minus the hold back amount. This clause does protect the company and bully tactics on consumer because they have decided to bring a damaged item out and decided to proceed with the installation so that they can collect the payment. If they would have engaged us and be honest with the situation, we would have rescheduled it until they have all the items on hand to complete the work. That wasn't the case and we had to discover this ourselves rather than being informed of the damaged goods. If we signed 8 different agreements with Ecoline Windows, I would be glad to pay for the 6 windows and hold back on the remaining 2. However, now, what they are asking for is almost everything and not being able to provide us with the energy rebate. If the Energy rebate program requires full payment to be made, I believe that it is fair to say that itis something Ecoline Windows needs to adjust on to make it happen for their customers and not diverting that stress and work on the customer to pay them in order to get the rebate. Based on the information above, the only winner here is Ecoline windows while we have a broken window and a torn mesh to use for 4 weeks plus until they can manufacture the window pane and send another tech out to replace it for us while they have taken our money for more than a month while we suffer in higher debts until they can submit the energy rebate for us. Is this fair? The website does says "Worry-Free Windows Replacement and Ownership". How is that true when now I have to be dealing with this company for another more month worrying about when they will be getting this fixed for us when they have taken 97% of the payment.

Hello Haw ***. Thank you for your feedback. We have delivered and installed your entire order of 8 windows. As per the contract signed, there is a certain amount that can be held back until the parts in question are replaced. I would like to emphasize that the repair is completely covered by warranty and will be done in a timely manner. We apologize for the inconveniences this might cause you.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /(2000, 7, 2018/08/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

It started with needing a New Patio door, I had an original leek and suspected there was some damage and had fixed so that it was no longer a problem but I knew eventually the patio door would need to be replaced. I received a flyer for Ecomoline in my mail and along with some other window companies started researching. Looking on line I liked the reviews and how the product was put together so I arranged for a quote. My sales rep Dmitri accommodated my work day by coming in the evening and as it turned out in a snow storm. As it was freezing out we happened to go through all my windows and he was able to show me where there were problem areas. In the end I wound up with 9 replaced windows, 1 patio door, and I love my new windows and door! From the time Dmitri spent going through options manufacturing process, the perks like the vinyl casings that come off if I need them to, as well as choosing which way each window would open to the Installers who showed up on time did a fantastic job, very professional explained everything an cleaned up it was a very pleasant experience. All the windows were exactly what I ordered and they were able to show me the original damage to my patio door and there was no extra charge what they quoted was what I paid. I would highly recommend Econoline windows and I have recommended them to any one who asks!

Hello Maureen. Thank you very much for such an excellent and detailed review. We will make sure to forward it to your project manager, installation crew and our office staff. Enjoy your new windows and please note we are always here if you need us. Thank you again.

The caulking around my window, when installed, was done very poorly. I was asking for them to come back to recaulk and make it look nice
I had windows installed by Econoline. On one window I felt the caulk job around the casing was done very poorly. They disagreed. After numerous discussions the salesman suggested we hold back $250 until it was completed to our satisfaction. The company representatives said the caulking was fine and it was a matter of opinion if the job was done correctly or not. We had an independent home inspector come by to verify the caulk job was done poorly. He agreed. The company still refuses to comply with the recaulk and will not do so unless the $250 is paid. That was not the agreement, but unfortunately was verbal only. Therefore I refuse to pay the outstanding balance unless they finish the job. This has lead to the warranty of the windows being suspended until the debt is cleared. Fast forward to 2 years later (now) and we need warranty work done on other windows. I have called to resolve the situation. They mentioned the outstanding balance and the interest incurred. I agreed I was always willing to pay the $250, but not until the job was completed, as it was their own salesman's suggestion we hold back the funds. They agreed to "waive" the interest accumulated on the $250 but have added an additional $100 to re-instate the warranty. I asked for documentation to validate the rightful claim of this $100 additional fee but they have refused to reply to phone calls and email, the preferred method of communication, on their part.

Never once have I agreed not to pay the $250. I have just been holding back until the job was completed to my satisfaction, just a simple recaulk, that looks smooth and professional. I am also asking for contract documentation at time of sale and installation that supports their claims to interest and reactivation of warranty fees. So, After numerous emails to them, without a reply, and several phone calls, all of which the representative is "too busy at the moment to talk" I have no option but to reach out to the the Revdex.com for a fair and agreeable solution to this issue. Because of all this I am also in fear of not getting further warranty work in the future, and will be continuously brushed off and ignored.

Customer was notified that the warranty will be deactivated if the remaining balance is not settled. Warranty can be reactivated upon customer settling the reaming balance of $250 and $100 reactivation fee.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /(3000, 7, 2018/06/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she did not accept the response from the business.)
I am more than happy to pay the money owed, when they complete the job. Let me remind them that I was to hold back the $250.00 on the suggestion of our sales rep until the caulking was completed to our satisfaction. I even got in a third party home inspector that stated the caulking job could have been done more professionally. Econoline is claiming that it is a matter of opinion on how well the esthics are and are saying that the warranty is suspended until the remainder is paid in full. Plus they are adding the $100 to reactive the warranty. All I want is the old caulking removed, re-done correctly and they will get the remainder owed to them. It is such an easy solution yet they refuse to cooperate.

Final Business Response /(4000, 21, 2018/08/08) */
Customer was notified that the warranty will be deactivated if the remaining balance is not settled. Warranty can be reactivated upon customer settling the reaming balance of $250 and $100 reactivation fee. Once amount owing is settled, Ecoline Windows will reactivate the warranty, will redo the caulking and will address any other service concerns customer has in regards to his kitchen window.

Final Consumer Response /(3000, 23, 2018/08/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she did not accept the response from the business.)
Again, I will gladly pay the outstanding $250. That is not the issue. What I will not do is pay the $100 warranty reactivation. This complaint was made prior to actual job completion and on suggestion of salesman, to withhold the owed amount until the job was complete. Therefore I did. The job was never completed to my satisfaction, or at the suggestion of the building inspector. This suggestion was not in line with Econoline management, therefore they opted to cancel the warranty and added the reactivation fee until paid in full. This is extortion, plain and simple. Like I said, I admit I owe $250 but I am getting punished as a result because Econoline is not standing up to the credibility of workmanship. Think of this Econoline. How much is this supposed owed $100 really costing you? Word of mouth is wonderful advertising, whether it is good or bad. Your quibbling over a mere $100 maybe costing you more in lost business.I could be spouting off to anyone NOT to buy windows through you. It really is a shame and poor business sense to let this go for as long as you have as opposed to just sucking up the $100 and finishing the job. Plus people read reviews online. Just saying, that they cannot stand behind their word if they are supposedly a Revdex.com member.

I had a new windows & on winter time & get freezing ice from inside the house on the sliding windows.which means they leaked.
I signed a contract with Ecoline Windows to get new triple-Panel 4 Sliding & 1 Crank windows on May 31/2017.I paid $7000 in full. They installed the windows on early September 2017.Last winter the windows make a freezing Ice from inside of the house & I contact the customer service of the company & they send a service person & he found the first installer made some short cuts & he said he's going to fix it.But still the windows has a leak because still it makes the same issues.I contacted them again they said "we'll ask the window manufacturer company & get back to u" My last contact with them was on March 28/2018.I got frustrated and wasting my time try to be nice & generously kind when making business with well known company.I had a 25 year warranty. But I don't think it is truth to get warranty.

I didn't get the right respond for my problems ,once a company gets an inspection on their products doesn't mean that every product is pass inspection,if a customer is complaining about their products it should inspect the specific product, they shouldn't respond with what the company's general inspection license.so my question was clear to get inspected the actual Windows in my house.

The worst company I had to put up with! The worst customer service, always late and best of all blaming me for it! Unable to process my government rebate because they lost the job photos even though they came out 3 times to do it! cheep crappy product, and had to hire siding people to fix the job they did as they proved themselves incompetent to work with my type of siding!

Ecoline Windows Calgary Response • May 04, 2018

Hello Nola , thank you very much for your feedback, our customer care manager will be in touch with you shortly.

Extremely poor service and support post sale. We spent almost 18000 dollars for all new windows in our home. Missed and late appointments, incorrect measurements, and lifetime transferable warranty that does not cover the windows and screens. Manager seems to stick to the process and not make a customer happy to get fixed. Delays , multiple attempts to fix without proper measurements, even though they built the windows and had the measurements on file. Appointments have consumed several days over three months to get it resolved and still not even close. This is major moment of misery for us , and I would STRONGLY ENCOURAGE other clients to go elsewhere . The current A+ rating is not even close to the actual performance of this companies. They took our money the same day, but still have not provided a working screen that fits after 3 months and multiple visits and no idea as to solution! Two other screens don't fit either but we decided not to give this company one more penny Ridiculous! Now installer left without telling us anything as to next steps. Still broken...in more ways than one. The company does not stand behind its product, and when asked to speak to someone in a senior level management role about the we were advised we cant. SO DISSAPOINTED :(

Ecoline Windows Calgary Response • Mar 26, 2018

Thank you very much for your feedback. Your screen had been reordered and our scheduling department will be in touch with you to schedule for a service appointment once the part is available. Meanwhile, our customer service manager did try to get hold of you and left a voice mail to discuss the matter further.

Please do not hesitate to call or email us if you have any other questions.

After getting a number of quotes, we were the most impressed by Ecoline and their customer service as well as competitive price. We booked an install date which ended up being sooner than expected which was nice, considering our cold winter. I really appreciated that they didn't talk negatively about their competitors, they just explained how their windows were made and their benefits. It was also very nice having updates on processing time and when they were ready.
The installers were great, they laid drop sheets everywhere they were working and were polite. Considering it was -20 outside and basically the whole front of our house was uncovered, they worked hard to get it done quickly and efficiently. When they were finished, they cleaned up inside as well as all the debris from outside.
I can actually enjoy sitting in my living room and sleeping in my bedroom without freezing thanks to Ecoline and my new windows. I would definitely reccomend.

Salesman neglected to advise me that the new windows may not fit the existing blinds.
I now have to pay over $100 to have existing blinds cut to fit new windows. Neither the salesman or the measurement taker advised me of the possibility that blinds would not fit.

I would have insisted new windows were made to fit new blinds if I had been told that would be an issue. I may have reconsidered hiring them to put in the new windows.

Ecoline Windows Calgary Response

Initial Business Response /(1000, 5, 2017/11/30) */
On the original consultation, salesman advised the client that the blinds may or may not fit since the new window might have a certain size fluctuation. Moreover, customer seen the back of the contract where it clearly states that Ecoline Windows will not be held responsible for the blinds in the event that they do not fit back.

We had a window install done on September 29th 2017. They replaced nine windows.
They installed the windows September 29th. but ran out of trim to finish the bay window in the kitchen. If the company knew that they were short trim why did I have to call them to ask if when they were coming to finish. When I called they asked to sent pictures which we did and then they said they would order the trim. They didn't have new trim for the outside front window which needs replaced due to damage. The family room window trim needs fixed it doesn't lay flat against the wall. There are other concerns that need to be addressed as well. After that every week I called once if not twice a week and nothing has been done they just give me excuses. They have given us the run around and they even said that one of there men were sick and didn't know when the job would be completed. They say that they will call with appointment but they don't call They always have excuses. This company wants the customers but doesn't carry out the completion of the job. All I want is this job to be completed. I don't want to ear excuses. It's been five weeks since the project was started and we are still waiting for a resolution. They wanted full payment even with job not completed. We paid them all but 800.00 which we will pay when job is complete. But we can't get them to come back and complete the job. Please advise thank you.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /(2000, 7, 2017/11/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
The work was completed finally but it took a lot to get them to come to my home. This experience that we had with this company was terrible and I wouldn't recommend them to any one. Their main focus it seems to me is to get as many customers as possible and not do excellent job or complete the job properly. We are very disappointed. We were so looking forward to getting them done. The project manger was very good and the workers that did the windows were good as well. But the people in the office need more training in customer service and getting everything organized to get the jobs they already have done when the customers have concerns instead of moving on to the next job.

On June 15 ecoline windows salesperson Alexander *** came to my house and did a great job selling me on their product. Unfortunately that was the best part of my experience. Alexander promised me at my kitchen table that I would have my windows and doors within eight to ten weeks, it took 13 weeks. Not a single person from this company reached out to me with a phone call or email to let me know what was going on. The only correspondence I received from them was in response to my calls and emails, It seemed impossible to get a hold of a manager or customer service supervisor, which was very frustrating. When someone finally made contact they said they would install my product Sept27,28 that would have been another two weeks and I had to plea with them to get it done earlier. At one point after several phone calls some random guy called and offered to give me two hundred dollars in compensations after having costed me thousands in project delays. The install guys came did an okay job brought a door that had two colours of white paint, wholes in it and dents, once again I had to bring this to their attention before they decided to get me a door that didn't resemble something out of the salvage pile. Install guys did good job cleaning up, but the trim work around windows was below standard and all stickers were left on glass. Overall very frustrating experience ecoline customer service was atrocious and had I not hounded them with phone calls I feel they may have forgotten my order all together. The first call I received from them that was not in response to one of mine was first thing today looking for their money,go figure. After having read many good reviews I'm left thinking about that old saying "can't believe everything you read" If you do decide to use this company be sure to have a contact name and number and double check all paperwork so you don't get screwed like I did. I have never written a review before but was so frustrated and angry with this company that after twelve years in home construction I felt this experience needed to be shared.

Thank you for sharing your feedback ***
On June 15th, 2017 as already mentioned before, you have signed a contract with Alex, the project commencement was set for July/August. Unfortunately, there is no stipulation in the contract that the project had to be completed at the beginning of August. There were also few delays in transit and as such we had to come out at the beginning of September. The "random person" was our customer service manager and discount offered was to offset the fact that the order was slightly delayed.
Ecoline Windows always takes responsibility to deliver the appropriate product and rectify any concerns that might arise during or after the installation. The door in question was replaced the same day.
At Ecoline Windows we strive to make sure that each and every customer is taken care of and that nobody is forgotten. Should you ever require a service or have any further questions please do not hesitate to call our service department.
