Econo Auto Painting & Body Works Reviews (%countItem)

I dropped my vehicle off for the white to be painted. They painted the entire vehicle, even the black, just sprayed it all. They took it back to repaint the black, and get black on the white. I took it back again and they tried to argue with me that it was my fault that they messed up. They took it back to paint over the black spots. There were white on black and the car was not repainted, even though they had it for a 5-7 days at a time. They tried to say that was the 'last time' they would fix their mistakes. They scheduled me for a over a MONTH later saying that it was how they schedule their warranty work. I took it in AGAIN they kept it for over a week, did not put parts back on AND there was white on MANY black parts again. The arrogant front office manager, had his workers come out in the hot son and try to remove the white that was on the black and 'repaint' with the small brush. When removing the white, again some of the black was removed AND I STILL have white spots on the black and my tires. The 5 times Ive had to bring it back to be fixed has had me borrowing another vehicle while they had my car sit, Im sure to prove a point and keep me from coming back. I again need to take it back to fix it, but they win, they wore me out and I dont want to have to make arrangements to leave my car for a week to again not have it done right. DONT go there!

Let me start this off with first meeting Paul we are dealing with Econo Painting at 801 1st street East Bradenton, Fl., was very nice he looked at the right rear door that had a deep scratch. "This will be no problem to fix, we will spot paint the area and you will not be able to tell it was ever painted." He cave me the price and I told OK you have the job as long as when I get the car back no one wil be able to tell it was fixed. My car was just 3 weeks old. Yes purchased it just 3 weeks before this parking lot damage. So I get the call your car it ready go down to pick it up I was 12 or more feet from the car when I saw the disaster. Car was full of dust and dirt the paint did not match. When I got close to the car and look at the damage they had done I was ready to blow my top. never was sanded before or after it was painted never buffed the door, over spray on moldings glass and other parts of the car. Oh we can fix this we will do it over and again I said I better not be able to see the repair. Oh yes sir we will make this right. The next day go to pick up the car it was worse. Now they had painted the whole door color did not match at all they shot the paint dry, there are pit holes in the paint more over spray then the first time. Both Paul and the manager told me there is nothing wrong with this job you will have to "CASH OUT". What is this a casino? Had to pay to get my car back. Toke to the dealer's body shop which did my first estimate $850.00 and had them fix it correctly at a cost of $1,388.92. The increase is done from Econo Paints *** poor work. Bottom line DON'T GO TO ECONO Paint for anything.

I have econo 2 opportunities to repair my bumper properly which they have not done.
On April 9th 2020. I picked up my car after having the bumper repaired due top a car accident I was in on March 28, 2020. A few days later I noticed the paint on the bumper was peeling in several places and the bottom of the bumper was hanging off. Myself and my dad who had took the car there initially contacted them to make them aware. The manager told us to bring it back in on May 6th which was a huge incovience because I needed my car fixed right the first time and I have a hectic work schedule as a CNA. I scheduled that day because we were told that was the next available day. On May 6th I could not bring it because I had to work so it was moved to Friday May 8th. I thought that Ii would have the car back by the end of the day on may 8th but when I called I was told by a manager that I would not get the car back until the following Monday. I had to work so this was not convenient. I then had to reschedule to their next open day which was Thursday May 14. I was told by the manager that I f I brought the car in on Thursday May 14th at 8AM in the morning that the car would be done by the end of the day. When I did not hear from them at the end of the day I called and was told the car was not ready. I was very upset because I was told that it would be and no one called me earlier that day to give me a heads up. I also had to work and now had no transportation. When Ii initially got the car fixed back in April had a rental car that was paid for by the insurance company. However that was over a month ago and now I had no back up car. All this was Econo's fault because they did not fix the car correctly the first time and took so long to get my car back in to re do the job. Under these circumstances I asked for a rental car which I had to litterally beg for. Econo paid for a rental car for one day and promised that the car would be ready the next day, friday. The car was not ready. I was now being given the run around and was in a desperate situation because I had to go to work and have an 8 year old child that I have to drive far to a baby sitter. They really were inconveniencing me. I literally had to beg for a rental car for a second day which they agreed. Ii finally picked the car up on Saturday May 16th at around 10:30 AM with my step dad. when I got home I noticed that the paint was still pealing in multiple places and the right side of the bumbler is not attached to the car. It looks like it can come off. I have attached pictures so that you can see. I would like to be refunded my money for all the time and aggravation that this company has caused me so that I can go to another location to get my bumper fixed properly. I have 7 pictures of the peeling paint and a picture of the way the bumper is not attached properly. It looks like I can only attach one picture but if there is a way to submit all 7 I have the picture.

Desired Outcome

I gave this company 2 tries to fix my car properly and they did not. I have a bumper with peeling paint and the right side of the bumper is coming off because it is not attached properly. I would like a refund of $756 which is what i originally paid so that I can take my car somewhere else to get it fixed properly. Thank you

I experienced today 5/15/2020 pretty much what you can read below. I made an appointment for Tuesday the 12th to paint 5 small spots of paint that had pealed away. Really a minor job. Dropped it off on the 11th to make it easier so they could start the work right away on the 12th. I was promised the vehicle could be picked up on the 13th. I swung by and checked on the 12th vehicle never touched. Called on the 13th for pick up and told me it's not ready I can pick it up on the 14th. I arrive on the 14th at the designated time and review my vehicle and it was a disaster. The green paper that they use to cover up areas was stuck to the clear coat and was going to be given to me in that condition. I showed the office person "J" and he said that was wrong let me keep it and I will fix it and you can pick it up on the 15th. I call on the 15th another worker "P" told me it was ready. I arrive and it was never touched. I explain my frustration and lack of trust and it just fell on deaf ears. Told me to pay in full as I offered to pay 50% and I would return and then pay the remaining 50%. Nope pay in full and we will now fix it under warranty. So after having the vehicle for 5 days I have to return and have them try again. So buyers or customers beware the low prices and cash only does not give you any customer service or any type of quality (like the advertise) repair at all. The over-spray was every where. If it was black it is now white. The sanding residue is all over the inside of my vehicle, doors, seats, trim, dash everywhere. The floor is full of dirt and rubble and the door from shoes is all scuffed. Biggest mistake I ever made. Not worth it at all. They do not care about you or your vehicle. So I should have known when an outfit only take cash something is up. If you look at the Revdex.com review they are rated "F" DO NOT GO THERE!!!

They did as much damage to my car as they repaired.

Run! Customer service is horrible. Paint start chipping away! They do not keep electronic records and the customer service is just bad. I would not be upset if this business went away!

The worst business in history. All I can say, is after my 9 day experience with Econo Paint (on a spot paint job)??? I wouldn't let this company paint my toe nail... let alone another car. I wouldn't send an enemy there... it would be too cruel. They painted my car the wrong color and didn't use filler in dents or scratches just literally painted right over them (charged for prep though). They also broke components on my vehicle... antenna, air mass flow inlet stem and my headlight housing bracket. Would you believe my wife caught them jumping our battery...wtf? Here is the topper, after all is said and done we pay anyway to avoid anymore issues but of course they have a grand finale the *** storm is not done its just begun. After I paid our fees my wife later goes to pick the car up, but couldn't leave; because they had lost our keys. Can you believe after an unsuccessful search for the key, the manager turns around and accuses me of taking em... Believe it or not this and more really happened. They had my vehicle from 12/10/19 to 12/20/19. My battery is dead and they said we aren't responsible for your battery. I was forced to give 1 star

Terrible lol I was told $400 on the quote and I agreed so we brought the vehicle in the next day the guy charged us $467 and told us the car would be ready the next day. We call the next day then he said 3 days. We came back three days later and the car was done. Upon looking at it, it appeared none of the vehicle was sanded properly and all of the chrome had been scratched. The fact is, the entire vehicle needs to be resanded and painted again. I don't have time for this. How do they stay in business with such terrible terrible quality?

This place is no good my truck has been up there for two weeks all I keep getting is it will be ready in 2 days for the last week and a half so I go by there after hours yesterday and what do I see my truck sitting there nothing has been done at all... walked up to it my doors unlocked hood is up ....what kind of place is this ...can't get in touch with area supervisor... so what do I do next...am I just out of $650 dollars

Very rude trying to charge me more than any other body shop by adding stupid preparing for the paint then the paint then paint material etc...
And when I tried to negotiate Jim answer was haven't you listened to what I said that is my price take it or hit the door , so rude unprofessional , he want to charge me 207$ for one panel and they said they do the whole car for 250$ , and iam a car dealer and normally our prices is 120$ a panel , I dont care if you want to rip off pepole and go with this prices but at least don't be that rude , I don't suggest that place to any one , all my family and friends are in car business we have more than 30 locations around , believe me no one will deal with you again , disrespectful, ignorant..

The WORST experience I EVER HAD in my life!!!My car was with them for OVER A MONTH!!!The first time I went to pick my car up I have noticed AT LEAST 5-6 spots on the car that had NOT sanded and the paint was running down, dirt was painted over it,spoiler on the back was half way painted,I can keep going for the rest of the day!!!But I just DON'T have the time for all that!I am going to cut my losses of $550 and try to find anothe place to paint my car again!!!DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT take your car to econo paint if you want a decent job done!!! Greensboro, NC.

if you like dirt dust masking tape and anything else that might be blowing by in your cars paint ,TAKE IT TO ECONO+PAINT. most horrible work I have witnessed in 40 years in the automotive business!!!!!

I would leave a 0 if I could, My husband had me drop off his 2005 safari van to get painted back the same color which was gold 9/04/2018 , They over sprayed a brand new bumper,Painted over brand new handles on 1 side so I got one gold handle and on the other side they are still black like they supposed to be didn't sand it right just sprayed paint right glue At the bottom of the van so that means they didn't sand that spot at all did not use filler so van still has scratches which they charged a extra $75.00 for so called extra preparation it took them couple of days to mess up the paint job and they told us it would be 30 days before they could touch it because that is there policy the same so called policy that is not on the receipt or anywhere in the shop , Called the supervisor and all I got was the same old story basically we f your husband car up in a week but you still got to pay and wait 30 days that's $777.43 of my husband hard earned money and before the supervisor even talk to my husband me and Chris the employee that I talked to bout the F up made a verbal agreement with me in front of the manager Jackie W. that the van would stay there till the work is done right .10/8/2018 with no extra charges and that we would pay and pick it up on the following day so now Jackie W. is harassing my husband to come pick it up oh yeah forgot to say Jackie W. said that car don't look that bad for us not to drive for 30 days and on top of that Jackie talking bout they not supposed to get all the scratches out now since when? But it's on the front of my green work order and on the back personally wrote by Jackie W. aka manager.Work order *** 09/04/18 Carlos *** signed by *** Econo Auto Painting 1046 Eisenhower Pkwy MACON Ga. We are prepared to got to court on this issue and alert news officials point ,blank ,period

BEWARE!!!!

WOW!!! This experience has been a nightmare. Initially, I was recommended to this place from a colleague. He said they were good and that I just needed to get the clear coat after painting.

Over the next two weeks they proceeded to extend my pickup and even tried to pass *** vehicle off to me without removing all of the tape....

The top front near the windshield has chipped paint from where they actually peeled tape too early. Same with the third tail light area.

THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO PAY WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN CASH SINCE THEY PROBABLY GOT A TON OF CHARGEBACKS.

THE WORK AND CUSTOMER SERVICE COULDN'T BE WORSE. JAMES, THE "MANAGER" THREATENED ME WHEN I VOICED MY OPINION.

I AM FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND I SUGGEST OTHERS DO THE SAME.

Their google reviews are a little more accurate.

Paint peeled off in a couple months of a car door.
Came back as requested by manager when they are not so busy, the new manager wants more money
payed $462 (contract # WD-XXXXXXX, 08.22.2017, cash only accepted!) to repaint and hang new door(that we got shipped to the shop) on my Ford Focus 2014 and to fix and match paint on a scratch adjacent door. In a couple of months noticed the new paint started to come off and the gray color spot of replaced doors appeared. You can clearly see that the spot is not sanded at all. At first a thin hairline appeared and then paint started to sag. My wife topped by at the Econo Paint shop and the manager looked at the doors and the contract, apologized for bad paint job and told they will repair mistake, they clearly missed the sanding part on that spot. He also asked very nicely for my wife to "come back when they are not so busy, after holidays, if I we live with it". She agreed. Stopped by again after some time and talked to new office employee about it. They were still very busy, "they will fix it if I can wait".
This is my only car to drive my child to school, my wife to work and is used for my work a lot. So we can only survive without the car when we leave town. So before my next vacation We went back for the third time, to the shop and asked to repair their mistake again. The office employee told us that that manager is no longer working "one of the reasons being, that he told people just like us, to come later, when their workmanship warranty expires". He also could not understand why we were charged so much for such a small job! He started explaining us that the prep work is always checked by the manager and then paint is applied, so there is no way the workmanship is a culprit off peeling paint. You could touch the peeled of part of the door and it is not sanded at all. I asked what about paint warranty plaques that are hanging on the wall advertising 2 and 3 years. He said that my paint is even better, but did not elaborate.
He said that they will redo it and went to find a new manager. The manager came in (don't remember the name, Asian descent with an accent and said that I have to pay an additional $100 to get their mistake repaired! It would be $562 for repainting a door, and matching a paint on the scratch of next door - this is absolutely unacceptable. How can they just lie to people like that? They repaint the whole car for $300, that what they have on their reviews. I feel ripped off and being lied to.

Desired Outcome

all I want the car doors with peeling paint sanded down and repainted, just like they stated on the contract and when they confirmed to verbally on two occasions with no additional money. They never sanded the door, or missed the spot that peeled off in the first place just applied new paint. You can see it on the peeled off part and the manager that first assessed the door, agreed to that the prep for the paint job was bad and apologized. The business has to honor their contract that's all.

Econo Auto Painting & Body Works Response • Aug 27, 2018

Please see attached documentation received from business.

Don't walk - RUN AWAY. I brought in a brand new tailgate to get painted to match the factory color of my 06 Titan. Econo's "staff" took the tailgate out of my car and put it on a shopping cart - no joke. The "manager" inspected the tailgate and found no issues. I also gave them the old tailgate and the color code of the truck to match.

One week later I was called by Econo and told the tailgate was ready for pick up. I drive the 30 minutes or so and find the tailgate on another shopping cart, painted - but missing the emblems. "Oh, no problem - we'll do that right now!". While waiting for them to find a tool (putty knife) to remove the emblems from the old tailgate and affix them on the new (glue) I rolled the shopping cart into the sun and placed a chip of paint from the old one on to the new to check for match. Wrong color. The old tailgate was darker and the new had too much blue.

The manager came out and at first wanted to argue that old paint fades but then realized the old one was darker than the new. While showing her the difference, I noticed a new slight crease on one side of the tailgate. To her credit - she didn't argue about either repainting or fixing the crease.

THREE WEEKS LATER, after several phone calls and several excuses, we were told it's ready for pick up. We went into the shop and found no one. One employee was outside helping another customer. 10 minutes or so of waiting and finally someone shows up from the back. He brings us into the shop to have a look. The tailgate is in the farthest, darkest corner on another shopping cart!

I ask him to bring it to the front and he has my wife help him carry it (I can't - disabled). But, whatever, she is strong and didn't mind. We get it into the light and the paint does match this time. The emblems are on - but the glue is bubbling out from all sides. I ran my hand across the tailgate and found "boogers" all over the new paint. A booger to me is a small drop of paint or dirt affixed to the paint because of sloppy conditions or a poorly maintained paint gun.

I asked the employee about it and he told me with dead eyes that "we don't wet sand". I asked him to explain himself; how can you say a product with so many imperfections is finished and that you don't wet sand? He said I could speak to the manager outside who was just coming in the door.

The "manager" was a sloppy, hunched over, youngish man whom could barely speak understandable English - his Vietnamese (I assume - maybe Laotian?) accent was so strong. He confirmed - "we don't wet sand". I asked "so, you are telling me, after first the wrong color, then a dent, two weeks of waiting, and I'm supposed to finish the job myself? Because you 'don't wet sand'?"

And here is where I lost my mind. The "manager" - who, by the way wasn't the person I had been dealing with previously, first started to complain about matching colors, then went on to tell me the dent was my fault, and finally, yes - go sand it yourself.

Wow. Well, obviously I was upset. Raised my voice and forgot my manners. Instead of diffusing the situation - the manager continued to argue, in this infuriating, cowardly way, never looking at me and always just barely understandable. Anyway - it was going nowhere. So I gave them their cash (cash only - should have been a warning flag) made them load it into my van so no more blame could be placed on me, and left.

I had no unreasonable expectations. No one goes to paint shops like this to get show quality paint. I needed a brand new tailgate painted to match a factory color. A job about as easy as it gets. I paid about half of what they charge for a full paint job - so even though I assume profit margins are thin, they made money on the work. But even if they didn't - they set the price, they promised a quality job, and they totally, completely, failed. And they lost a customer for life.

Econo Auto Paint on Florida Ave in Tampa painted my car, however after 3 months dark spots bleed through and I took the car back.. The manager told me he would not honor the warranty, but repaint it for $300 even though he had a sign posted for $249.00. I would not advise you to take your car their either because he will not honor his warranty and he wants to charged people more than he has posted in the front of his business.
