to reserve a speciality vehicle like she did, they're would be a $100 cancelation fee, which she did the same day of pickup. What she didn't tell you is that we would only charge her this amount if we were unable to rent it out. Being such a busy weekend because it was July 4th weekend, we were able to get it rented out. So in this particular case she wasn't charged anything. This is a normal practice we have been doing for over 40 years. We feel Thai complaint is with out any merit and we would hope you would close this case. Any questions please call our office at any time. Review: I called to rent a Van, "[redacted]" said they had one, however I needed to come in and put down a $200 cash deposit. Since I live far from where the location was, I said can you take my card, he stated "no" we can't do that over the phone without you being here. Because we had a death in the family and it was short notice, I was put on several waiting lists, When [redacted] called (which was closer) and they had a vehicle available, I accepted. I called [redacted] to explain and now he starts telling me that "You know it's a $100 cancellation fee, I said how can I have a cancellation Fee when I never reserved it, no paperwork was done, and you never mentioned this too me. Now he states, I clearly did, I'm said [redacted] we never had that conversation, and now he's being very disrespectful and yelling. He said I have your card, and I said I gave you that in good faith not for a deposit, it was to hold the van until you received the $200 in cash and I sign the paperwork. With that being said, we hung up, I called my Credit Union and he had swiped my Debit Card (Over the phone he stated they only accept Credit Cards) for $100 and it could not be reversed because he entered it as a Debit.Desired Settlement: I have no issues with having a cancellation fee, if I was told. I would not have agreed to $100 non-refundable fee on something I did not actually reserve or do paperwork on, I think this is a Scam. If you look at [redacted], you will see all the unsatisfied customers and the rudeness. I want a refund! I am willing to split the cost, but you can't just take money from people and think it's ok. I did not authorize him to swipe my card!
