Review: I reserved a room online. The room I reserved smelled appalling and it was filthy. There was a woman passed out drunk sprawled out in the grass immediately outside the entrance. The reasonable consumer would have deemed the room uninhabitable. Econo Lodge refused to offer us another room, and when we informed them we were leaving, they insisted we pay a $25 cancellation fee. I was aware of this fee ahead of time, and I understand that Econo Lodge has the right to collect it. However, I do not think it appropriate to offer rooms for rent that are in such poor condition, and then charge people cancellation fees when they refuse to sleep in abject filth.Desired Settlement: Refund the $25 cancellation fee.

Clean your rooms.

Tend to people who have drunk themselves into a lack of consciousness and then passed out on your lawn.

Review: I called Econo Lodge on 6/8/14, reserved room for 3 nights from 6/9/14 thru 6/12/14 My daughter and friend arrived before me, on 6/9/14, both under 21. I spoke to manager [redacted], they let the girls in the room. I was called into work, and was going to arrive later that evening. My daughter and friend went to beach, came back and were locked out of the room. All their belongings, money, phone, everything was in the room. It was only 5pm at this time. The hotel told the girls that they couldn't let them back in because maintenance was gone for the evening and they couldn't unlock the door, which I found out later, of course by the manager was a complete lie. So these girls are locked out of their room for an hour, no money, no phones. I was at work, where no phones are allowed on the floor, by the time I could check my phone they were still waiting to get in the room and get their belongings. They were then kicked out of the hotel and I was charged 75 dollars. All because I had not gotten down yet. All this happened before 6pm. I tried to call, was put on hold for 20 minutes until I eventually hung up. My husband called numerous times and was told no manager available. I called 3 times no manager available. Finally [redacted] called me back the next day, and said because I didn't come down to sign paperwork, all this happened. It was only 5pm the same day, I had plenty time to come down plus we had the room for 3 days. That is child endangerment, to lock 2 girls out of their room without any means of money or communication for an hour before they kicked them out and still charged me for the room. I tried to talk to the manager, about making them wait an hour to get their belongings, kicking them out, and charging me. I got no compensation. They had my credit card, I was coming down, the room was for 3 nights, its ridiculous that all by 5pm my girls were thrown out on the street without their belongings, kicked out, and I still got charged for the room. The employees are rude and unprofessional. If the policy is not to allow under 21 years of age in a room, then why did they give them keys and allow them in the room in the first place.Desired Settlement: I would like my 75.00 dollars refunded to me, since I was unable to receive the service that I paid for. Not to mention the frustration and worry about my children being thrown out on the street, and dealing with the rude employees of Econo Lodge.
