Hello,Since I submitted my rebuttal 20 or so minutes ago, the company and I have reached a resolution and I was refunded the difference.
Thank you for your assistance!
Review: I wanted to warn you about a recent experience I had at Meineke in Oceanside. 3844 Plaza Drive. Now I should have been cautious because they have ripped off my grandmother for years, but hey- u was in the area and I thought I'd see for myself. I should've listened.
I went in for a regular oil change on 04/28/14 at 9am. The Internet coupon was for $14.99. When I called, the gentleman on the phone said that coupon doesn't apply to that location. They were offering $19.99 oil changes. I'm ok with paying $5 more. No biggie. When being written up for service, nothing was mentioned about any extras that applied to the $19.99 special. I patiently waited for 45 minutes until my car was finished.
After my oil was changed the bill I received was for $29.99. I didnt quite understand the $10 jump in price so I spoke with the manager and he said there's a disposal fee (I understand this) and they charged me $17 for the oil and $6 for the filter. This should've been mentioned PRIOR to services being preformed, not after.
To my knowledge when you receive an oil change, the filter is included in the total price. ($19.99) unless otherwise specified, which it was not. The manager wouldn't do anything for me. I have been servicing my cars for 14 years now and this is the first I have heard of a "reputable" business pulling the 'ole bait and switch. Bravo Meineke for praying on women- Bravo! I could've went to the dealer and paid less than this.
There was a gentleman that came in shortly after me complaining about being overcharged as-well. Coincidence?
Ladies and gentlemen, please inquire about ALL possibilities or potential charges before agreeing to anything. They may slip something in and take advantage of you. I am posting this same message on the Revdex.com's site as well.Desired Settlement: Refund for being over charged.
