I am rejecting this response because: Complaint: [redacted] We are asking that the above-referenced complaint be reopened We are not satisfied with Econo Pro’s 12/22/response to our complaint PREPARATION! PREPARATION! PREPARATION! Lack of proper preparation of the roof by Econo Pro before coating is at the root of all of the problems we are now having We have been told by numerous licensed roofers and other painter/coaters that this coating should never have been applied to a roof like ours because it obviously was not correctly prepared and therefore would not hold the coating for the promised seven years You would think that a reputable painting company that had been doing this type of work “for over years” would know that coating over the amount of rock left on the roof, some of it obviously loose, was not satisfactory and would not hold up If Mr [redacted] and [redacted] , his [redacted] representative, felt that our roof was the problem, why did they continue to push for this application and not advise us that we should just have a new roof installed Instead they assured us that there would be no problem warranting the job and took our $5,However, we are now not being offered any warranty remediation We’ve been offered nothing Before the gravel was partially removed, the roof was in a state of good to excellent conditionWe only considered the [redacted] coating for purposes of heat reflection and reduction of utility bills Essentially Econo Pro took what was a perfectly good roof and turned it into a problem roof Econo Pro’s own yellow pages advertising stated “Why reroof? Save money!” His “Pros Protecting Your Investment” website stated “DON’T RE-ROOF! LET US EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR ROOF AND SAVE YOU MONEY!!!” Yeah, right For us, the reality was anything butWe selected his company because Mr [redacted] told us he had experience with our type of gravel roof We kept daily logs of the experience and we questioned numerous times during the process whether the gravel left was going to be problematic and whether more puddle plaster was needed in half a dozen low spots We were always assured by Mr [redacted] that it would not be a problem Maintenance was performed regularly and per instructions given by both Mr [redacted] and Mr [redacted] With regard to whether Econo Pro should have had a roofing license or not, we will let the Construction Industries Division make that determination and also assess whether the roof was properly prepared [redacted] and [redacted] [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the responseIf the consumer does not provide a reason if he complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
We had hoped to resolve this issue in a reasonable and professional manner, but since Mr*** had descended into name calling, it seems we are at an impasse. Is this what any customer of Econo Pro can expect if they have an issue with their work? Regarding Mr*** claim that we want something for nothing, he was paid in full immediately upon completion of the work. He states he has been in business for years and has never had a complaint. We have been homeowners for years and have never before had to file a complaint against a business. To the Revdex.com: PLEASE do not show this complaint as successfully resolved, as it most certainly has not been resolved
Regards,

To whom it may concern:Please see attached PDFReply (statement) from *** ***, Representative for *** *** Sealants. In our company was hired to apply the elastomeric roof coating system on Mr***'s roof Mr*** *** chose to do a maintenance roof coating
instead of a roof replacement.Prior to starting the project, the process was explained to Mr*** We removed all LOOSE gravel and scraped the roof Removing gravel that is embedded in the tar can gouge the roof Therefore, can cause problems in the future with leaks After applying two coats per manufacture's specifications, Mr*** said the coating did not look thick enough, so a third FREE coating was applied After applying three coats he continued to ask for more coating to be applied At that ***e, I had a meeting with Mr*** and his wife and told them we have went above and beyond to give them the best service possible If was evident after numerous conversations, pleasing this customer was impossible. It is correct that the coating manufacture's representative was present per Mr***'s request through the application process We did not give Mr*** a seven year labor warranty There is a seven year material warranty from the manufacturer In Mr*** called me and ask if I would touch up areas on his roof We touched up areas of "his concern" note these areas were not areas that we would consider problematic This touch up application was only done per his request at NO CHARGE Mr*** does not understand that he must maintain the coating for longevity He emailed our company and asked us to touch up again at no charge I replied to his email that he should notify the manufacture's representative of his concerns. Econo Pro Painters LLC is a coating company not a roofing company Therefore, we are not required to have a roofing contractor's license We have been applying elastomeric roof coating for over nineteen years Our company was the first to become certified with the *** Systems in this area This is the first customer that has had a complaint Respectfully,*** ***President/Owner

In response to Mr. [redacted]s claim:In our last statement, we attached a letter from the manufacture stating that they inspected our work on this project and it met and EXCEEDED their standards!!!!!They also stated 'Our company is the most QUALIFIED  in Las Cruces to apply roof coatings.Understanding, Mr. [redacted] was present on the roof during the entire process/job. The process/application was explained to him multiple times, as I stated in the last reply. During this project I had to sit down with Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] and continued to repeat and discuss the process,  at one point during the conversationI questioned Mr. [redacted]s "mental competence"..  After multiple repeated discussions, efforts and erratic behavior by this customer, it was obvious that Mr. [redacted]was wanting something for FREE!!!!!!!!!!! This company has been in business for 20 years and this is the FIRST  complaint from a customer not satisfied with a roof coating!!!!!Therefore, our company will NOT TOLERATE  any slander and/or any intent to deceive others by false statements...........

We are asking that the above-referenced complaint be reopened.  We are not satisfied with Econo Pro’s 12/22/2014 response to our complaint.  PREPARATION! PREPARATION! PREPARATION!  Lack of proper preparation of the roof by Econo Pro before coating is at the root of all of the problems we are now having.  We have been told by numerous licensed roofers and other painter/coaters that this coating should never have been applied to a roof like ours because it obviously was not correctly prepared and therefore would not hold the coating for the promised seven years.  You would think that a reputable painting company that had been doing this type of work “for over 19 years” would know that coating over the amount of rock left on the roof, some of it obviously loose, was not satisfactory and would not hold up.  If Mr. [redacted] and [redacted], his [redacted] representative, felt that our roof was the problem, why did they continue to push for this application and not advise us that we should just have a new roof installed.  Instead they assured us that there would be no problem warranting the job and took our $5,000. However, we are now not being offered any warranty remediation.  We’ve been offered nothing.   Before the gravel was partially removed, the roof was in a state of good to excellent condition. We only considered the [redacted] coating for purposes of heat reflection and reduction of utility bills.  Essentially Econo Pro took what was a perfectly good roof and turned it into a problem roof.  Econo Pro’s own yellow pages advertising stated “Why reroof? Save money!” His “Pros Protecting Your Investment” website stated “DON’T RE-ROOF! LET US EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR ROOF AND SAVE YOU MONEY!!!” Yeah, right.  For us, the reality was anything but. We selected his company because Mr. [redacted] told us he had experience with our type of gravel roof.  We kept daily logs of the experience and we questioned numerous times during the process whether the gravel left was going to be problematic and whether more puddle plaster was needed in half a dozen low spots.  We were always assured by Mr. [redacted] that it would not be a problem.  Maintenance was performed regularly and per instructions given by both Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted].  With regard to whether Econo Pro should have had a roofing license or not, we will let the Construction Industries Division make that determination and also assess whether the roof was properly prepared.  [redacted] and [redacted]  [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the response.
