On 9/5/we received a service call from Mr*** that his system was not coolingWe did a system tu(cleaning system, etc.), and his system was low on freon, we recharged the system and because it was later in the day and Mr*** had family over we scheduled for us to come back on
9/9/to do a leak test to find out where the leak wasAfter finding the leak we explained that the expansion valve was not tight enough or stripped out causing the coil to leak and if the leak occurs again that we would recommend replacingOn 10/22/Mr*** called and said that the system was not cooling, we preformed another leak test free of charge and the coil had began to leak againAfter looking into the warranty coil replacement I found that there was a class action lawsuit against Lennox for this style coil and that many customers had to replace the coil multiple times and still having issuesSince this would have been Mr***s first coil replacement he did not qualify for the lawsuit but we provided him with the information and websites so he could look further into itWith all of issues others were having with the coil I explained to Mr*** that I could not guarantee the replacement coil would not leak so I highly recommended Mr*** replacing the system rather than just the coilThat day I emailed Mr*** an estimate to replace the system, and told him that I would credit the previous invoices toward replacing the systemWe did not hear back so on 10/27/I emailed Mr*** to make sure he had received the estimate and to see if he had any questionsHe responded that he had received the estimate but that he was not going to go that routeAfter speaking with him on the phone he stated that he wanted to just replace the coil rather than replacing the system, so we emailed him the estimate for replacing the coil (and we credited the previous invoices to the coil replacement) and ordered the coilOnce the coil arrived we installed the coil on 11/ 6/On 11/27/Mr*** called and said his system was not cooling, we went and checked the system, free of charge, and the replacement coil was leakingMr*** was not at home so I explained to his wife, and also sent him a text message explaining that the replacement coil was leaking and that this why I highly recommended replacing the system rather than the coil because I could not guarantee the coil would not have issuesDue to the holidays, I did not speak with Mr*** until this morning after learning he had filled the complaintI offered that I would credit his previous invoice towards a new system, that way he would not be loosing any money, but he refused
